I stayed up all night that night. Here in England, it was 20 to 1 in the morning when it reached 1 billion. I can't remember the specific date. I also stayed up all night when Metallica Nothing Else Matters got to 1 billion kn 1st August 2021 at about 3 in the morning or something.
Sorry to say my dude. However, soad have always been political, everyone of their songs is either about politics, war (specifically the Armenian wars) and social politics.
True, since the very beginning they´ve always been very political. I wouldn´t say EVERY song of them is about politics, war and social politics, they have some about partying and love and otehr stuff, but yes the majority it´s very political.
Cheers from Malaysia. I've grown up listening to this in high school and it does brings back memories. Good ones. Love the channel guys keep up doing what you do best.
Serj Tankian, the vocalist, was classically trained in singing, and is a great singer IMO. SOAD has many enjoyable songs, and Serj even did a live rendition of The Rains of Castamere for a GoT concert a few years back. If you blokes are a fan of GoT, might be something interesting to react to if you're able.
I remember that. I had actually watched the live stream of it. IMO Serj is one of my favourite vocalists, he harmonizes beautifully and fills every vocal with a punch,
Masterpiece, one of the songs of this century hands down! Just one note, they always have been political. Since their first tracks, some are more metaphorical, some more in your face, but they have always been like that.
A bit of song trivia, the song was going to be called "suicide" but it was deemed too controversial for radios to play a song with such a title so "chop suey" was eventually chosen since chop suey is a dish with ingredients that can be thrown together, and the song is similarly a mash of of several different styles
Toxicity, Forest, Sad Statue, Sugar, and Question. I could go on but my list would involve the 33 of their songs I have on my playlist 😂 any song you check out by them are amazing.
❤️from the beatbox community. Also was a fan of System of a Down growing up. Have not heard this song for awhile, thought I’d give it a listen here again
Not necessarily my thing. Love the older metal stuff, sabbath, maiden, motorhead. Hard rock like zeppelin, Uriah heep or deep purple. But I have to admit. This is a masterpiece
Apparently Serj and John had a disagreement the rumor is direction of the songs. I believe Serj wanted to write and John isn’t giving in. Another rumor is their opposing political views. I’m just glad they put out new music! I hope they do another album soon. Love SOAD!
DUDES. So, you've reacted to Archspire and the newest most tech goodness of death metal. And whats awesome, what got me started in loving music in heavier fashions is System of a down, korn, slipknot etc. System of a down was huge to me and still is while listening to all the new evolved heavier and technical as shit stuff. cheers from west coast!...where archspire, korn, and soad are from..ha!
You should check out Orbit Culture. I suggest Open Eye or Nensha. Nensha is trilogy of songs, all three have videos and tell a story. Nensha, Rebirth, and The Shadowing. The band is so talented, and have inspirations of some of the greatest bands out there.

Support for any of our Armenian brothers and sisters in the comments. The U.S. citizens see the atrocities that are taking place by the Azeri. 😥We stand with you.
Great one guys, luv the channel, if ur interested in great music and solo guitar masterpieces I highly recommend Afterlife by Avenged Sevenfold, other good ones like "the stage", "dear god" And Sieze the day by them... They're really phenomenal..
They’ve always been political. Also, they’re all Armenians, they released a new song about the armenian genocide (the newer one that just happened and the whole world ignored). It’s called Protect The Land. Please check it out and speak up about the Armenian cause. Thank you.
hey guys! Could you please return to japanese rock? 🇯🇵 I would like to introduce you to an all female rock band from Japan: NEMOPHILA Try the live version of the song "Life". It's on their official youtube channel 🙏🏻
They've always been political, it's just well hidden in a lot of their lyrics. Only a few of their songs slap you directly with the message.
Ah yes, the hidden messages of Prison Song lol!
@@connorwelch5957 IEAIAIO :D
Yep Serj really try his hardest to send a message
LMFAOO true I explained the meaning of cigars to my girl & she was still confused by how the lyrics related to the meaning
I bet he stopped liking RATM when they went political too.
I just found out today that this video "Chop Suey" hit One Billion views on RUclips back in November. That's just mind boggling and deserving.
I stayed up all night that night. Here in England, it was 20 to 1 in the morning when it reached 1 billion. I can't remember the specific date. I also stayed up all night when Metallica Nothing Else Matters got to 1 billion kn 1st August 2021 at about 3 in the morning or something.

Well, not all... Bounce is about an orgy. But generally, yes.
I wouldn’t say every song but yeah a good amount of their songs are
Sometimes it's when you haven't listened to a song for a long time that you really appreciate how good it is. This is one of those songs.

While the other boys in Glendale were dreaming of a BMW M3 and a track suit for each day of the week, SOAD were practicing their instruments.
"Aerials" is my favorite SOAD song.
This song is really good. I love the melodic part especially!
YES!!! Brings back some childhood memories!!!
Big Time!
SOAD are Armenians here in LA which has a huge Armenian community and they've always been political. They still are even after taking hiatus.
A bit of song trivia, the song was going to be called "suicide" but it was deemed too controversial for radios to play a song with such a title so "chop suey" was eventually chosen since chop suey is a dish with ingredients that can be thrown together, and the song is similarly a mash of of several different styles
This song hits hard for anyone that has known and loved people that took their lives, and towards the people that judged them.
Sugar - SOAD, next.
