Sometimes you can get "false positive" result. False positive means that you are not infected but the test shows wrong positive result. One reason for a false positive is the presence of another disease that produces antibodies similar to the ones produced during a syphilis infection.
The other possibility might be that you are at high risk for syphilis and being infected again.
