  • One of the basic premises of yakisugi siding is the need for little or no maintenance. However, there are a few things that are good to know to keep your wood siding looking good and lasting a lifetime.
    Wood siding tends to expand and contract seasonally, causing subtle movement in the siding. We recommend exposed, headed nails so that when this happens, you can simply tap them back into place or add additional nails to help flatten the wall plane.
    This specific install is a a privacy wall application with a compound miter corner, angled at 2 degrees. After about four years since install, we returned to touch up this corner and keep it looking good.
