I agree they're spectacular - I wonder if you watch "Itchy Boots" (a woman from the Netherlands is riding her motorcycle down the west coast of Africa) She has a video out today and the last several videos have been amazing. She too is dealing with the rainy season (in Liberia).
I’m so happy to have you back on the water. I didn’t realize that I missed how you do sailing adventures with joy and enthusiasm. I always look forward to your photography, loved seeing the bugs, who else takes pictures of bugs on vacation? Loved the flutter buy’s on the butterfly bush and of course the sunset/sunrise is mandatory. Thank you so much.
It's not very comfortable (and maybe not practical for that many bites) but I've found the hot spoon trick works great on mosquito bites. Run the spoon under hot tap water (so it's not hot enough to burn, but it's uncomfortable) then hold the hot spoon on the bite. The heat denatures the protein that causes the itching and stops the itch immediately (and permanently)
What an absolutely stunning region! So glad you got to spend your anniversary there. As a non sailor, but RVer, I think any accommodation that moves there will always be issues because of the movement. Glad you got to at least dip your toes in the water until your boat is ready. ❤️❤️
Glad to see you getting back in the ocean. Thailand and Vietnam are two of my wish destinations. But man that humidity... I live in the high desert in the western US so humidity is a non issue here. Thanks for the video and time. Sundays are one of my favorite content days because you folks deliver!
What a glorious country - or the part you visited at least! PhiPhi Relax looks like a little slice of Paradise - absolutely wonderful! OK, the bugs look like an entomologists delight, both the good and the bad. But the food, the staff (and owner), a little drink or two and most importantly - the views! Jason was magnificently enthusiastic and Nikki was the perfect guide, and as eloquent as ever. She is the Audrey Hepburn of the sailing world - and her haircut is perfect!
Yay, so nice to see you guys back on the water! Between your monologue about loving boat life in the last video and your smiles in this video, we can FEEL it! 🙏🏽
Just a quick thank you to Nikki...you once gave me words of wisdom about walking cats...and my long haired black cat loves walking around the house even in the Florida heat! 🐾🌞🌴😂❤
“Its not all rainbows and sunshine!” But at least we got to enjoy your vacation with you, and Nikki got to wear her little black dress (on a paddle board no less), and Jason got to sing in the rain! It must be agony waiting for your HH to be ready. Thank you for letting us come alone on your journey.
I love this Thailand series! Sorry to see it coming to a close. I hope you will do more on cruising Thailand in the future. Wishing you success and happiness
😊I lived on the beach on Koh Lanta for 6 months in the mid ‘90s. My view was Koh PiPi - some of the storms were epic. I had left by the rainy season though. Worked at a dive school so am quite familiar with those waters, even back then there were problems with reef preservation. Lovely to see an old stomping ground! The boat looked fun, what an amazing way to travel.
Totally agree that time on these things is never enough! I'd spent most summers while I was growing up at the same cottage my Dad would rent in central Maine. It was great! But it was only 2 weeks....and all 6 of us wanted more. Never got there because Dad could only take 2 weeks away from his job at a time, even though he got 6 weeks a year. Anyways, I've recently been renting a similar setup in western Maine. First time was just a week, and my sister came along...we LOVED it! But there wasn't enough time. Following years we bumped it to 2 weeks, and that was great, because of course a full weekend, but it also was never enough. Summer of 2021....my remote job and my sister not working....and cottage availability created a perfect storm. 1 full month. Of course we grabbed it. I worked from the cottage....it wasn't easy with slower internet, but it worked. Being able to take a lake swim on my lunch break....priceless! Last 2 years....medical issues have cancelled those vacations. Time away makes you apprieciate being able to be there EVEN more! Hope your new home gets finished soon! Thanks for sharing a very cool spot with us!
This is one of the few times that seeing food on a video made me hungry! It looked so good, I could imagine how it tasted. (Plus, I frequently eat Thai food). I’ll be so glad when you guys are back on your own boat again and you have a home again…
I am happy to see you enjoyed Thailand :) The hospitality that 'Mr. T' showed you is very common in Thailand. You will rarely find rude people here. I hope to get a better heads up next time you come to Thailand, my wife and I would love to have lunch with you two :). I am sure you get these requests all the time, though :)
You guys are just the best. Your unfailingly cheerful attitude is an inspiration - if I had been faced with those clouds of mosquitoes and buckets of water in my face at 2 AM I’m not sure I would have been quite as smiley - bless you both, and THANK YOU ❤️
So soon, so soon Nicki you guys will be sailing again! Loved the brief underwater video and the travel vlog....just love the content, and experiences you both share each post. Thank you
My partner and I went to the Phi Phi islands 23yrs ago in our very young twenties. We stayed on the same side just below where you were. What a difference those years make! The lookout was just rocks to sit on and not much more. The view is the same, though, and it was a wonderful nostalgic walk down memory lane to get to see it again! Thanks🤗❤
As always, the most entertaining and informative cruising videos. Your envie de vivre is infectious. Really looking forward to the new boat adventures.
Almost the same weather here in the Philippines, monsoon started in mid-June and lasted until September. During this season, winds are almost typical of a typhoon but will only last a few minutes with thunderstorms and heavy rain. Good luck and keep safe on your journey.
Leaping boldly in where angels fear to tread, every time I see Nikki's outfit in the first part of this video, I am reminded irresistibly of the children's "play clothes" in The Sound of Music. 😉 The rainstorm on the last full day of sailing was what I expected the monsoon season to look like. Beautiful place. So glad you showed it to us.
What a beautiful adventure! Thanks for sharing! About mosquitos…I’m from the Deep South and a cartoon that’s made it’s way around is of a mosquito sucking the bug spray out of a can of Deep Woods Off😂😂😂 Lol! Like it’s his favorite drink! We grow them strong down here! 😂🦟🦟 💪🏼
Thank you! It is such a pleasure to watch your videos and feel part of your adventures! But most of all: I am totally impressed by your relationship! You are so sweet to each other!
If you get bit by mosquitoes before you scratch them apply vinegar with a tissue or small cloth to the site for a couple minutes. It takes away the itch and the inflammation.
That looked like a fun place to visit. Now that you’ve had a taste of the area you can come back to that area in the future when you get your own boat off the assembly line. It was a little funny when Jason was talking about the stormy weather and I looked outside of our Fifth Wheel window and the weather here was the same. We’re currently in the Elkhart RV park and are considering upgrading to a 45 foot motor home if all things align properly with trade-in’s and down payments are within our budget. Have fun and stay safe…
I've been a loyal viewer since finding the channel two months ago (the canal adventure). Your videos are always inspiring and/or informative. Looking forward to seeing you two on your new boat! p.s. Thanks for all of the binge watching of past videos I have to look forward to.
I love Thailand. Probably my favorite place in the world to visit. The people, the culture, the views and oh my, The Food ❤. Great adventure. Happy Anniversary
what a place to visit thank you so much for showing us some great places to visit and the boat wasn't too bad either apart from the leak and the fridge freezing everything as you say is not your problem it's theirs now the trouble is now you want your boat now as you have gotten used to boat life again and you are suddenly yanked away back to being a landlubber like us but you haven't got long to wait until your boat will be finished i bet since you have been away from the factory they have done great progress on your boat like fitting the engines or motors or both and wiring and plumbing and maybe starting to do the rigging we cant wait to see what progress they have made to your wonderful boat then you could do the islands yourself on your own boat now that will be awesome so see you next time from John from Rugby UK.
Ok Jason, your cold brew technique makes me smile. Right down to the spoon rinse. We are kindred spirits 😂. Don’t be embarrassed, you are just getting every ounce of joy out of life. 👍
That was fabulous as usual! Thank you for taking us along! Love Thai food! Actually is my favorite and I have never been to Thailand! Best I have ever had though was in Sydney. We eat Thai in every city we visit.
Two thing struck me, wow was Nikki 'glistening' at that stove! And, what dramatic, snazzy music for the Snorkeling piece, it was fun. Hope you guys are having a great time!
A wonderful video ofThailand. Really would love to go there someday. You both were smiling so much that I found myself with a big grin on my face most of the time, except where you were in the middle of mosquitoes. Looking forward to next Sunday.
I loved it, you were so entertaining! That was such a cool Spot, lovely. Oh the Mosquitos, Ugh! Jason your singing and the "I don't know where that came from..." Hilarious! That was such a sweet week escape. Congratulations on your Anniversary. You guys were made for each other! Thank You, God Bless.
Another great video Nicky and Jason. Jason your still a babe at 42, imagine the stories, the video archive collection you will have by the time your 82! What a beautiful piece of Thailand, all those tropical plants, the villas, the layed back restaurant, and so welcoming. Thank goodness they survived as a business over last few years. Nicky I love my gas hob for cooking, especially if the power goes out on land. Too hot for Thailand I have to agree. ❤
Love your advice, a week is not enough. When we were working trips were limited by length of vacation or holiday length. Now retired travel must be planned around doctor and other commitments. I attempt to plan 12 months out for our activities but remain flexible to opportunities. Currently planning an overlanding trip to Australia and adventure trip to Japan. So many places to visit and not enough time. Thanks to your channel and other RUclips channels I subscribe to I get to learn more about places I will never be able to visit in person.
We enjoyed the morning watching your adventures in Thailand very entertaining and we feel you’re doing a great job and we enjoy watching the new boat build also, it’s very fun keep up the great work.
I put 4 oz of ground coffee in a half gallon jar of water and store in a cool cupboard. I use a canning jar, and have a screen that fits it, so I remove the flat lid and put the canning ring over to hold the screen so I can strain as I pour. I use it in about four days, then add 2.5oz more coffee and refill with water for another four days. Not chilled, but if it sits in a hot spot it won't keep. Cold brew is so easy I only use a coffee maker for a change now and then.
Looks like the rainy season caught up with you! Love the video. Having been to the area many times - this make me nostalgic. Now we want to go back! Keep up the great work!
What a fantastic and honest video. From Leopard owner to Leopard charterer - you nailed it. ❤ BTW: The Vitrifrigo on a high setting (yours was set to max) without the drip tray leads to the problem you mentioned. I'm using an AeroPress with some good Espresso roast for more than two years now (not sponsored 😉) for hot and cold brews. My favorite right now is "half a" hot brew with 7-8 ice cubes (from the mentioned, working Vitrifrigo). 🥶
Oh Nikki I love your shorter hairstyle 🥰🥰. And your overalls too! Very cute! What a beautiful episode. So wonderful to see you sailing. Glad to see you were wearing stinger suits. I’ll have to check and see if there are irukandji in that area. How wonderful to be able to anchor off the island near the resort and paddle over for a meal and a hike. Well done surviving the mosquitoes. The view made it look worth it! I hope you guys can spend more time in this part of the world in the future once you get your new boat. Woohoo not much longer now! Xx
Wife and I are travelers and hate mosquitoes. We tend to spray original listerine on us and take vitamin b-1 which helps relieve the bites because the mosquitoes don’t like the taste of your blood with the vitamins in it. I believe it works haven’t had to scratch at all this summer
Nikki's Audrey Hepburn look is on point. Sunday with the Wynns check. jasons coffee is not to be messed with. Any compromise on his part where coffee is concerned is a big deal. Not as big a deal as a dishwasher but still big. Lol
27:27. Spectacular! Your journeys are the best. Most everything is warm weather based. Thank you so much. Choice of music also commendable. Stay safe and God Bless.
It's so good to see you on the water again! Mosquito bites usually itch more when your skin is hot. I put ice cubes on my mosquito bites. Not only does it feel like it's scratching the itch but it numbs it so that it won't itch.
We charted a 50 ft catamaran from the Moorings out of Phuket. After the first night the air conditioning died on one side leaving two of the cabins without air. We were not that far from home base and fully expected them to come fix the issue or get us onto a different boat. Didn’t happen…..they came and rerouted the air from the salon to the cabins so we had air at night but the heat and humidity in the salon where we spent most of our time was almost unbearable. Our plumbing had issues so another day was spent working on that on our own. Fortunately we were experienced boaters so capable but to fly from California to Phuket to spend a week on a less than acceptable boat with the cost that we incurred was definitely not worth it. We did this the first week of November……the water looked beautiful but was solid with jellyfish so swimming and snorkeling was not easy. Fortunately we had planned five days at a resort after the sail and it was lovely and the people were wonderful. We have chartered from the Moorings in the Caribbean and it was delightful. Thailand…not so much.
Nikki on the paddleboard in a black dress.... that is confidence. Nice job guys.
The humidity makes Jason do wild things, like singing 😂😂
Fergie, Milkshake😊😊
Usually I wake up to a plethora of vids to watch on Sunday. The Wynn's are the only ones who didn't disappoint today. Thank you. ❤❤❤

Do you have to catch the bite immediately, or will that still work after they got back to the boat?
@@littlebitofhope1489 In my experience, as long as it's itchy, the spoon trick works.

Avon: Skin So Soft. Best mosquito repellent I’ve ever used. Really fantastic stuff and good for the skin too.
Johnson & Johnson baby oil LOTION works very well at repelling skeeters too.

The cold brew is easy to fix. The difference is that instead of using heat to extract the oils and flavours, you use time while chilling it.

It's so good to see you on the water again! Mosquito bites usually itch more when your skin is hot. I put ice cubes on my mosquito bites. Not only does it feel like it's scratching the itch but it numbs it so that it won't itch.
Very similar to full-time RV LIFE. There’s always something. Thank you for the video
Looked like fun. Love Nikki's hair cut.
