      Does the 4K make this worth it over the Xiaomi? Or is the Xiaomi's better contrast a killer?
      Which one do you prefer?

    • @TECH404
      @TECH404  6 лет назад +2

      Image wise the px747 is definitely better, as for which I personally perfer it would be the Xiaomi because I value the ultra short throw capability more for my needs

      Thanks! I think I will go for the lower lumen PX727-4K based on this: www.projectorcentral.com/ViewSonic-PX747-4K-review.htm "ViewSonic PX727-4K for classic home theater because the picture has higher color saturation, contrast and brightness in most full color imagery. And 1100 lumens of color light output is ample for most dark theater applications."
      I can darken my room very well so no need for very high light output.

    Thank you for the great review. I just purchased the PX747-4K and I am waiting for it to come in a couple days. I am currently planning on projecting on the wall directly but plan on purchasing a projector screen. Can you tell me which screen you are using in the demo? I am needing a 120" screen and it looks like there are many options. I will have moderate light since it will be installed in our living room.

    One thing that can help shopping and I'm not affiliated... but it may sound like I am lol... is projectorcentral. I did sooo much research when I was buying a projector and that site was invaluable. For instance.. you really shouldn't even start with this or that feature.. you should start with throw ratio because you want x size screen and you have x amount of room. You may find this projector might not even work for you (in fact this model didn't because I only had like 10-11 feet to get the size screen I was planning). They have a sweet tool to figure out which projectors fit that.Then from there you can choose things like price, 1080 or 4k, fan noise, and lots of other stuff.It lists the projectors and allows you to compare them. Of course I started out thinking I was getting a 1080 and while I ended up spending more I got a great deal on a 4K UH50 that I am just blown away by. With 4k I can type this out in tiny text on a 113" screen a few feet from the foot of my bed. Crystal clear. As clear as my normal monitor. Of course 4k movies are EPIC. I'll never go to a theater again.. I think it makes 1080p media look better than they would otherwise too if I understand it right (it's not like I can compare unless I had a good 1080 projector). There is a difference at this size screen, although it's not so huge I am not happy watching up-scaled 1080p content. Also with the tools through that site by directly emailing the sellers they link to, was how I got a much better price than it was advertised anywhere on the net. I don't know if this price will hold and they didn't say anything about shutting my trap (I think) so I spent $1070 for it which was very good at the time.. That was maybe 12/2018. I can't compare it to this model but that may not be relevant at all unfortunately. You need to know the throw ratios that will work for your space, then shop. BTW at the end of the day I was about to spend $800 for a good 1080p.. so the jump to 4k wasn't all that bad. I HIGHLY recommend 4k unless you will just make a 70 inch screen or sit farther away because of a larger screen. (people do this. It's crazy to me. "Oh nice that screen is much bigger.. help me move the couch back".. wat?). Also if you want to be able to use it as a second monitor the text on a 1080 would not be so clear for sure. Hope this helps someone.

    cool review thanks a lot mate. So between this one and the optoma uhd300x, which one would you recommend? The UHD300x has better black levels you say? And its about the same price. So which one to get? How is the noise and input lag in comparison?

    • @TECH404
      @TECH404  6 лет назад +1

      The PX747-4K is slightly a head on input lag neither are good for serious gamers but will be fine for casual players, the uhd300x is much better when it comes to fan noise.

    I know this is 20 degrees or more
    I use the screen all the way to the ceiling
    This is rather the biggest disadvantage
    Is it possible to adjust this to 0 degrees?
    Or is it fixed at 20 degrees?
    I know it's 20 degrees higher or higher.
    I use the screen to the top of the ceiling.
    This is the biggest drawback.
    Can you adjust it to 0 degrees?
    Or is the 20 degree angle fixed?

    Mike, I have an update on my projector experience since I first commented. I have had a uhd300x but I do have 2 issues. The buzzing noise on eco is really hard to get use to and I normally watch pj with one lamp on in room and I keep wishing the pj was a bit brighter. So I bought a uhd40 and the buzzing noise on it was worst and I didn't notice and better picture quality on it. So not I need help! Would you recommend I try the px747 to maybe help with the light issue and what about the benq tk800 which I am also thinking about. Is the fan on the viewsonic much louder than the uhd300? Thanks as always .

      Very simple, the 727 has an RGBRGB color wheel, the 747 has an RGBWCY color wheel, that means that colors are much better on the 727. The main consideration is light control in the room, if you can darken it at least 90%, the 727 will actually have brighter and more saturated colors, while the 747 is made for rooms with more light

    Me and my girlfriend are increddible sensitive for rainbows (from the DLP tech), how bad is it on this one?

      @TECH404  6 лет назад +1

      For me it was pretty good but I can't say I suffer from it too badly, I saw more rainbow on the uhd300x.

      I bought this PJ last week on sale at Amazon and Rainbow was horrible, normally I can tolerate it but with this projector it was very noticeable; especially if you on bright lights on dark areas of a scene or if you depend on closed caption for foreign movies good luck with that.

    So it isn't native 4k despite all the info. Ive been looking at this for over a month.

    • @TECH404
      @TECH404  6 лет назад +1

      It's the same as every other 4k projector under 2000 pounds it not 1080p it's not true cinema 4k it's inbetween, it uses pixel shifting technology, anyway it's very good and if you check the link it's back under £1000 currently.

      TECH 404 BTW, I love your reviews, but maybe change the way you pronounce ANSI. It sounds like you are saying ANUS when you say it!

    This projector gets the job done pretty well. ruclips.net/user/postUgkxS9P8zTOcmQg-hH0QeUi3dspOLyYgQ6dH Bear in mind it's a mini projector but all things considered the picture quality is pretty good. The attached photo is of the projector projecting onto my white closet doors. I still have not messed with the settings but I can't wait for our first family movie night on a larger scale. If you have issues with volume not working with your firestick, go into volume settings and you will find your solution there.
