@@rg03500 I'm VERY Late to this reply, but if you change resolution to 640, and low quality, you actually get the same hoplites as the cutscenes. This is due to the fact that in low resolution units don't have a change in visuals when upgraded.
I have the happiest memories of playing this at my aunt's house. What an amazing game. Only game I ever really played on PC tbh. But my favourite game overall for sure.

Personally I started off as PC gamer but have moved more and more towards consoles. Nowdays there are so few games that come only (or first) to PC, especially RTS games, but those that do I ofc rather play on PC than console. That includes recent AoE rematers, AoE 4 and now the upcoming Age of Mythology: Retold, so good reason to keep PC still around :D But vast majority of my games are on consoles and Im almost done completing all my PC gaming backlog
I know it's 4 years ago, but they are there for the game to load faster (most 3d games always put assets that appear many times somewhere out of view/bounds to have that element already loaded in, so the game doesn't start to lag. Mario 64 or any mario game has a coin somwhere that the viewer can't see meaning the coin doesn't need to be loaded again. If it has to reload everytime you hit an enemy or coinblock, the game would go slower) or to have them start there at the start of a cutscene transition, which actually happens right afterwards. Like already said, this game wasn't considered for widescreen resolution and they thought they could put them there for faster loading for the second transition scene where they look at the gate. But hey, that's just a fact a game development fact, thanks for watching.

I appreciate the cut scenes since it can get confusing why they are doing some of the things they are doing in the game. But I think you skipped the finished wooden horse cut scene.
This is a great game and a great story love playing it still especially 1v1 against friends and sending the largest army of hopolites and toxetes agianst there small army of slingers and axemen
who thinks these story lines can make a far better movie than the movie Troy xD. Even have some actors who can play the roles 1)Arkantos-Henry Cavill 2)Ajax-Dwayne the Rock Johnson 3)Odyseeus-Gerad Butler etc
hell this strategy game , i played it when i was like 9 or 10 , i mostly remember typing "pandorasbox" to get the comets falling from the sky , tornado and other stuff ..... i hate remembering primitive stuff

This is the extended edition with graphical upgrades and stuff. In the original, you would only see one group in the cutscene. But both groups were present, it's just that one of them served a role in the cutscene and would then be deleted and the other group is ready as the heroes you would command once the actual level starts. In the original it was very smooth and none of this was visible, but in the upgraded versions, the screens and resolutions are bigger and so more of the map can fit in the cutscene but then it reveals some fourth wall breaking behind-the-scenes.
i have the game full instaled and updated and everytime i get a cutscene, it stops at the very first section, i mean.... it doesn't connect the cutscenes in order... and sometimes it misses some cutscenes to play....and there is not voice overs but there are still only audio of the game itself.. T_T ...someone help me, please! T^T

That's because the cutscenes show them with upgrades, which disappear when the game starts.
