I got this lens a few weeks ago and in my view it has the best image quality of my four Voigtländer lenses. At least to my taste. The bokeh is realy calm and beautiful, as are the colors and contrasts. Definitly sharp at 2.0 on close or medium distanses. The micro Nikkor 55/2.8 was my lens first for my FM2n when I got it in 1988 and I later got a AF micro nikkor 60/2.8, I find it's great to have a standard prime that also allows you to get realy close. Now I have three :) but the Macro Apo ultron is realy the pick of the bunch, five stars.
Nice macro lens! Voightlander definitely makes some great lenses. I don’t mind the manual focus as I prefer it to auto at times. I should let you try out the Pergear 35mm f/1.4 when I get it. I could use a macro lens for here when I capture things close up on the tundra. Thanks for sharing with us!
Thanks! An attractive lens for sure. I have a dear old Ais 35-70mm which also has a macro function...but macro usage is restricted to 70mm, so I don’t quite get the nerdy prize.
How funny - I've just been editing my first couple of shots with my MC 50 and 105 - spent a little too much time out in the cold photographing water droplets on a feather!
It'd a crop sensor lense made for a crop sensor camera. DX is just Nikon's APSC (crop) designation. The 35mm gives a field of view of a 52mm compared to a full frame lense due to the small sensor on a DX camera
@@KibbitUpIt Thanks! I had this debate with someone else. Really it's a 35mm view, you would need a 17mm lens on APS-C camera to get a 35mm view. I appreciate you responding.
Focal length is a property of the lens itself, completely independent of whichever camera is mounted on. The field of view produced by a given focal length will depend on the sensor size though, which is where the confusion comes from. People conflate both focal length and field of view, which is how you end with statements like "this 35mm gives you a 50mm for DX".
A 35mm or any other lens is related to fullframe. So is the field of view…cropped It is 52mm. But the view techn. is always based on 35 or any other fx lens

Tengo esta lente y estoy totalmente de acuerdo contigo.
Es la niña fea del bar (f2) pero es la mejor en todo.

Nice review, trying to decide between this & the Fuji 30 2.8.
Bokina 90/2.5 also does the job. Brilliantly.
Great video! Does the Voigtlander require an adapter to work with the Nikon Z fc?
I think not because both the FF and APSC Z cameras all use the same Z mount. Only difference being the lens coverage

I love your YT channel. Maybe you can test some lenses from Meyer Optik Görlitz, for example the Primoplan 75/1.9 for Nikon Z?
This morning I can only get this video to play at 360p. Maybe it is just me.
I'm getting 4k
the video is in 4k
Click on the cog at the bottom of the video, lets you choose rate. Unless your wifi is iffy, in which case it overrides and chooses a low data rate!!
Thanks! But why they call it a 35mm f/2 DX, when on the APS-Camera is it actually 52mm?
