    It is truly fantastic that we have access to such lore. Videos like this really make Star Wars feel like a "lived in" universe. After growing up with the Skywalker saga being shoved down our throats endlessly its truly a breath of fresh air to have some casual lore thrown at me.

    Were the effects of the anomalies on ships attempting to travel through hyperspace what eventually led to the development of those Imperial cruisers (I've only seen them in the Legends canon and cannot recall what they were called. Maybe Interdictor class?) which utilized gravity wells on ships to trap them in normal space?

  • @ronjon7942
    @ronjon7942 2 месяца назад +1

    I guess I’m not grasping the scale of this disaster. How many ships that have been disintegrated within hyperspace are we talking about? Why are some fragments remaining in hyperspace and others are exiting? Is it having a snowball effect within the entire hyperspace lane, shredding thousands of ships? How is the danger galaxy wide?
    And what I really am not grasping is how can this debris be threatening entire systems, and how are billions, if not trillions, of people being evacuated, and to where? How does debris destroy a moon? How fast is the debris ejected into normal space going? If it’s going fast enough to have the kinetic energy to destroy a moon, how could the Jedi ‘capture’ it to save the survivors inside the wreckage?
    I get this is a space opera, but u less I’m seriously missing something, this chaos and mayhem seems to go WAY outside of even Star Wars physics. I swear I’m not being a stick-in-the-mud Mr. Negative…I love a good story, and this is a significant lore event. But this borders on supra natural; stories like that are no fun.

    • @HenningRogge
      @HenningRogge 2 месяца назад +2

      Most book writers don't get the scale of something like a galaxy... "imagine millions of projectiles rushing through a solar system" they think, not grasping that this is "business as usual" and that solar systems are mostly empty space. This also goes for the amount of damage necessary to destroy celestial bodies like moons or planets.

    • @StarWarsLoreSWL
      @StarWarsLoreSWL  2 месяца назад

      Yes I take your point, I think @henningrogge has it pretty spot on, Sci-Fi does sometimes suffer from the idea that whatever is being written about seems to be the centre of the universe and everything else revolved/is effected by it. As you say it can break the suspension of disbelief a little. I suppose we all have different triggers and limits to what we will take before it happens!

      @@StarWarsLoreSWL Gotcha. I meant no offense, by the way. I just cannot help but to wonder sometimes if it is an actual human, who is truly interested in the content, is making the video? Or just some program putting together a bunch of linked images (and voiceover) together. You know, with zero emotion and no real interest in the subject. Let alone talent to put stuff like this together.
      At any rate, I am not the biggest SW fan. But I'm "old school" lol. I grew up on the first three movies. Seen them all up through RoS. But Rogue One was the last that I actually enjoyed. Since then, I've only watched The Clone Wars and Rebels. Which I thought was all right. But I wasn't crazy about it.
      But now, in recent years, (about to turn 50 smh) I'm FINALLY getting more into the lore. But the new stuff is just downright nonsensical to me.
      Anyway. Thank you for doing this! I had heard a few various characters alluding to this (frankly pivotal) event throughout the Legends cartoons. And had always wondered what it was about.
      Well, take care, man! And I'm sorry if I was ranting a bit.
