I think only if your prjections of the fed funds rate into the future is more optimistic (lower) than what the market consensus is pricing in, or maybe you use LT bonds to try and hedge against stock bear markets. I think the highly qualified economics professionals probably have more accurate expexctations than us. Bond cash flows are discounted each year by the expected risk free rate, a change in the fed funds rate only affects bond prices if the change did not align with how the market was pricing the bonds anyway. That being said, the 30 year US treasury yield right now is 4.78%, I reckon thats probably an overestimate and therefore long term bond prices may be too low, but idk the economists hopefully know what ther doing.
