I'm planning on moving out of the US when I retire, it's BRUTAL to be a senior in the US and only getting worse year after year. There is no safety net, hence people like Sherry have all of life savings drain rapidly during emergencies and rent spikes.
The problem is at some point your body wears out. They tell you to work longer. Not always possible.
Life happens. Preparation is great but it can be brutal.

Stop wasteful spending, get and stay out of debt, and invest in your retirement and stop whining that "life is not fair".
Why didn’t the people around her saved and invested their own money to take care of themselves? Why is she the one that’s stuck paying for everyone?
My biggest mistake was not starting to save in my 20s. You have to start saving the minute you start working...even if it's a few dollars a week.
Thank you and god bless you us all 🙏🙏🙏
I disagree with her. She chose paying for things over her retirement. Or she chose to not pay for insurance
It was poor planning….or poor decisions
People have the attitude when they're younger that you only live once you can't take it with you is it so dumb😮😢
If social security wouldn't be there for us, why are they still deducting that from our paychecks. smh
So Biden can send it overseas.
You will get 79 percent of social security if congress doesn’t fix social security y 2035
Social Security was never intended to anyone's sole source of retirement income.
Anyone who trusts the government to take care of them should look at how well that has worked out for the Native Americans.
BTW - Social Security needs to be phased out, it's not a retirement plan that could survive in the free market which is why it is forced on us.
The looming American retirement crisis is something that has been on my mind a lot lately. With the volatility in the global economy, I'm worried about how this will impact my retirement portfolio if I don't plan properly
I agree, it's a serious issue. With inflation rates rising and the cost of living increasing, the purchasing power of retirement savings is being eroded. I'm looking into diversifying my portfolio to include more international assets and commodities to hedge against these risks.
It’s critical to have a diversified portfolio. I’ve been advised to include a mix of fixed income securities, real estate, and some blue-chip stocks. This strategy helped my portfolio grow by 20% last year, despite the economic uncertainties. Proper planning and professional advice are key.

Unfortunately, theres going to be more streets like Kensington popping up around the different cities, more denials for ssdi, foreclosures, so and so on. I dont blame the souls that live and die on the streets because its not their fault
There are "skid rows" in almost every large city in America. They're just not publicized that much. But many are becoming too large to ignore. The indigent and homeless population in this country is growing. Especially among the elderly, and families with children. This is the result of over 40 years of "trickle down" economics, the outsourcing of living wage jobs overseas, and the successful "bait and switch" tactic of replacing defined benefit pensions with 401K plans. Many younger Boomers and Millennials will retire in poverty if they can retire at all. Unless you are a very high wage earner who is a saver/investor, who is also adept at timing the stock market and inflation, it is almost impossible to save enough for retirement. The majority of future retirees will OUTLIVE their savings. Especially low wage workers. And that comprises a significant part of the working population in America.
You mean, they're struggling to marry someone who did save. They're struggling to find a way to blame men for this.
Printing money during Covid was the problem
Just during covid??? Every country has been printing since 1913. Guess what made a famous german artist get mad after WWI when his country started hyper printing their war reparations away???
YEP! That’s what caused the inflation that people are seeing today. It’s also what got people back into the market and into the economy. It helped and hurt the economy at the same time.
No, that was a great time I had in my garage printing away.
The problem is people living beyond their means
@@davidbrooks8809 They can only do that with a fiat currency
Even saving in IRA and 401k is no guarantee that it will last you a lifetime !
Yes it is a guarantee. You just don't know why or how yet. Mine are ROCKING now.
I live below my means with a 401k ..HSA...and IRA... I live a great life only bring home $70,000 a year and I don't overspend😂😅😊
Social security was never intended to live on! At best it will replace around 40% of your income.
Oh, I guess I'll just save and invest my social security monies then.

Everything is Doom and Gloom I hope the world doesn't end tomorrow😢
Trying to build your income and prepare for retirement? It’s important to choose stocks that are expected to hold up in inflationary environments. To combat the negative effect of inflation, it’s a good idea to diversify your portfolio across different asset classes, such as stocks, bonds, and real estate, since this can help protect your portfolio against inflation. I have seen People making up to $500k in a month during high inflation. You too can do same.

Christians need to be obedient to the Lord and pay their tithes. I’m not saying you’re never going to have no financial problems but everything is spiritual.
Why does God need money?
I bet Ukraine doesn't have a retirement problem.
Most women fled the country, so I bet they will get more conservative voting and have less of a socialism problem too!
An internment problem perhaps, but...
