  • Review of my Aristides 060 in this beautiful Blue Marble Satin finish and equipped with Fishman Fluence Killswitch Engage Pickup Set.
    In 1995, a team of Dutch scientists, working in collaboration with the Technical University Delft, started work on a unique mission: to develop a material with perfect acoustic properties with a great resonance and sustain. The result of these research, which took several years, is a material which they called Arium and Aristides themself says that this material combined with their revolutionary one-piece construction, results is an instrument in which sound is able to travel uninhibited in 3 dimensions, for the ultimate performance in resonance, sustain, clarity, and articulation and on top is also way more resistant against temperature changes compared to a guitar made of wood.
    I hope you will enjoy the review of my Aristides 060. If you like my video and you don't want to miss the upcoming ones don't forget to support my channel by leaving a like or by subscribing. I played guitar for 20+ years and have 30+ guitars in my arsenal. 3 or 4 years ago one of my friend recommend to try Aristides, I saw a used one in our local classifies just like yours a blue marbled 060, it was fairly priced. I got it and proceed to order 2 custom build from Aristides and got another used 080s within 1 year.
    They are not cheap but IMHO, they are the best guitar money can buy. great sound, extremely well built and great ergonomics, plus the people behind all these amazing guitars are a joy to work with!

      Thanks allot Vincent for your great comment 😊! Your story summarises really well the quality of Aristides which is nothing less then exceptional. I’m pretty sure the 060 here won’t be the last Aristides in my collection. The only great pity for me is they don’t have a baritone 6 string in their line up as I’m a 6 string only guitar player, hopefully there will be one in the near future 😃

    I have a T/OR in black. Can't say enough about the guitar. This is not the first time I've heard a 060 owner talk about the acoustic sound, which I find interesting because my T/O is very quiet acousticly. That acoustic quietness does not seem to matter much when amplified as it sounds killer. It's hard to explain what the Arium sounds like but I like to think it's sound like a well balanced EQ setting.

    Hi Sebastian,
    Ich bin auch eher jemand, der von Haus aus gerne sehr dicke Hälse spielt, daher hatte ich anfangs etwas Sorge ob mir die schlanken Aristides Hälse überhaupt zusagen, aber ich komme mit dem ultraschlanken Hals der H/06R sowas von gut zurecht, das es mich selber überascht hat. Ergonomisch sind diese Gitarren so gut durchdacht und konstruiert, ich weiss, das klingt schon ziemlich unglaubwürdig diese ganze Lobhudelei, aber es ist halt mal so :D Wünsche dir noch ganz viel Spass und Freude mit deiner tollen 060

      Hi Chris, Dank dir erst mal ganz herzlich zu deinen Glückwünschen und deinem klasse Kommentar. Das mich die Aristides so sehr begeistert hätte ich als totaler Holz-Junkie wirklich nicht gedacht. Kann auch all das was du hier geschrieben hast vollends bestätigen und befürchte für meinen Geldbeutel dass das nicht die Letzte ihrer Art gewesen ist die hier bei mir aufschlägt. Meine Traum-Aristides wäre wohl eine 6-String-Baritone mit Evertune bridge und ich gebe die Hoffnung nicht auf dass Aristides hier irgendwann ihr Portfolio noch erweitert, ansonsten muss irgendwann mal eine normale 6-string mit meiner geliebten Evertune Brücke her. Schade nur dass die Preise doch recht happig sind, man gebraucht auch kaum welche findet und die Entscheidung für eines der vielen ungemein sexy Finishes nicht gerade einfach fällt ;)

    Very nice guitar, I've always wanted to try an Aristides but I've never seen one in person yet. Seems sensible to make a guitar out of a more stable material than wood, especially if you're painting it all over. Not my favourite shape in the world, but it's unique at least which I like. How does Richlite look compared to Ebony - is there a 'grain' type look or anything?

    • @MassiveSoundProductions
      @MassiveSoundProductions  2 года назад +2

      Thanks for your comment @TheShinyShow ! I was in a similar situation before I could grab this one here. I really must say I'm happy that I took the risk and bought it blind. It's a killer axe and one of the best sounding and playing guitar in my collection. The richlite fretboard looks like a very dark black ebony and has some type of grain to it. In my opinion without knowing it's hard to differentiate Richlite from black Ebony in both look and feel.

    When you play palm muted chords do your right hand fall into that gap above the strings? Is it not uncomfortable?

    • @MassiveSoundProductions
      @MassiveSoundProductions  2 года назад +1

      Thanks for your question. As I rest my right hand on the hipshot bridge this isn't a problem for me at least. To find out how it feels for you the best would be to try one yourself or if you dont have the chance think about where you exactly have your right hand when playing. Hope it helps at least a little bit.

    Do you prefer this guitar over the mayones(sound and confort)? I had a regius, it sounds great, but I caught my self playing my cheap Ibanez RGD more times because it was more comfortable, the regius has sharp edges that dig into my forearm, I ended selling my regius, I was never able to adapt my playing.

    • @MassiveSoundProductions
      @MassiveSoundProductions  2 года назад +1

      Hi Stanley, thanks allot for your comment. Luckily I can get along with quite allot of guitars as long as they are not neck heavy and the neck is neither too thin or too thick. I absolutely love my Mayones Regius and so do I my Aristides. They both belong to the very best guitars I was lucky to own/play. What surprised me allot on the Aristides isnt only the great sound but also the extremely comfortable neck shape which might be even better than on my Regius and fits perfectly in my hand. In the end you need to try yourself which one fits best for you but I would absolutely give Aristides a try as it's in my opinion a much better guitar than an Ibanez.

    Better then Mayones Regius?

    • @MassiveSoundProductions
      @MassiveSoundProductions  2 года назад

      Thanks for your question, not an easy one 😅. For me both guitars are on par and the very best I ever played/happy to own. In the end it's a matter of taste which one fits better for you. They both have comfortable, modern shaped necks, the Regius slightly thicker than the Aristides. Craftmanship is literally perfect, both sound great. Still the Aristides with it's construction is a bit special looking and sounding, but this is neither a pro nor a con and only a matter of taste. In the end you cant go wrong with either of it.
