    The biggest honor for Michael Jordan is that the Kobe Bryant family chose him to induct Kobe Bryant. This will send Michael into the stratosphere even more than he already was. What an honor.

    MJ and Kobe are my favorite players all time. Everyone is entitled to their opinion and can have their own favorite player. MJ and Kobe played with such grace, their footwork was second to none, and their midrange game was unstoppable. To think that they dominated the game without really depending on the 3 point line is crazy. Kobe used it a bit more than MJ, but nothing compared to what the players are using like today.

    As I struggled with a serious autoimmune disease over the years, I would always find Kobe inspiring. The way he fought through injuries and never gave up. It pushed me at times when I was down. It may sound cheesy, but it really helped me get to where I am today. RIP Kobe.

    Everyone has their Kobe toughness memory, for me the 2008 finals loss to the Celtics was the toughness moment for me, watching Kobe cry while walking off the court in game 6, after everyone saying he can’t win without Shaq, and then to come back the next year in 2009 and absolutely tear it up and win it all. He’s had physically tough moments, but him coming back from 08 finals loss and winning back to back is the epitome of his being!

    From the 🐐 himself to almost every player ranking Kobe top 5 to even the owners who started complaining when CP3 was supposed to play with Kobe and had the trade vetoed.
    It’s only the media that disrespected and still sometimes disrespect Kobe because he didn’t give them a lot to work with. Kind of a similar thing is going on with Kyrie right now but obviously he’s not on THAT level.

      Yes because it wasn’t the normal show dynamic of one guy has to be pro Lebron and the other has to be pro Jordan. I’m sure Shannon thinks both are basically at the top. I wouldn’t be surprised if Skip actually believes Jordan is better though. We all know Jordan was a competitive God. He just had a different level of focus.

    Kobe also didn't need to be carried off after he tore his Achilles. I believe he did cry when he found out he tore it. And Kobe held back tears in 2008 after Lakers lost by 39 to the Celtics.

    Kobe didn't just want to be like Jordon, Kobe wanted to be the best to ever play the game. and he thought that learning from Jordon would help him become that. and training relentlessly would make him even better than Jordon ever was. and I do think that Kobe at his best was maybe even better than Jordon. like in the playoffs when the Lakers swept a very good Spurs team. Kobe was just amazing, and winning two titles with Gasol who wasn't at the level of a Scottie Pippin. Personally I think Kobe and Jordon were both amazing and I can't really put one above the other. every great player is great because of the players that came before them. and that is why basketball players of today are better than basketball players of the past. but I wish the game could somehow figure out a way to make the two point jump shot relevant again. and I think some of the old way of playing and rules were better. now its all cut to the basket and dish out to the three point shooter. Go Lakers

    Was able to see Kobe and Heat Era LeBron play in person during the lockout shortened season. LeBron played well and the Heat were impressive but when Kobe came to town he made the whole building electric. Kobe (wearing the black face guard) buried a buzzer beating shot. I’ll Never forget that night.

    They understood each other better than most likely anybody else. They knew about the struggle of pushing yourself to beyond limits. The loneliness of being great. Learning how to turn it on and when to trust your teammates. They both went through public "scandals." Which I didn't think about until today. It really was like a father son relationship. Its amazing how we never knew how close they were.
