My bf and I are both nurses and as much as it’s been a struggle trying to balance our work life and our relationship, I wouldn’t have it any other way! We love being able to connect and share stories and since we both work in opposite specialities (I’m neonatal icu and he’s adult icu) it’s so fascinating to share stories and differences between both units 🤗

My fiance is an American and he's a surgical technician in an orthopedic hospital while I'm an Indonesian, working as an office administrator also doubled as kindergarten teacher, english tutor and a blogger. Having partner who works in same field is fun but if it's different, I think it will give you and your partner chance to learn each other's field of work. You see, before I met my fiance, I knew nothing about his work while he never dated any teacher or writer so he had no idea how it feels to teach kids. We both taking it easy, giving lots of understanding, add lots of sense of humor and being supportive to each other's work.
I think you two are very well matched. Love watching your videos and learning how life is for individuals that work in the medical field. Also Kevin and Miki I just want to say thank you for all that you do. I have been sick one way or another for a long time and when I end up in the hospital is is so relieving to know that I am being well taken care of. Thank you.

As someone who is into fitness, I've read that body fat is a way more important metric than BMI in determining health and fitness. The research I looked at said that BMI can be a very misleading number even in the healthcare field. Ofc you're the nurse tho, so I'd love to hear your perspective!

One thing i had to say is that splitting bills 50/50 is just not fair. It should be based on the percent of what you are making. Say I was making $100,000 a year and my S/O was only making $25,000. As you can see it does not fair for the s/o to spit everything 50/50. Glad to see your transparency on this matter. :)
Splitting bills isnt the only way to do 50/50. If someone do all the houses chores a'd take care of the kids while the other give the money it is also equal.
I know residency is so tough - not only on the person doing residency but their partner as well. Props to Miki for supporting him and Kevin for going through with all of that hard work!

Actually, when you consider a resident is also legally a registered student (they can defer their loans), 80 hours is 40 as a student and 40 as a licensed professional, they make less than minimum wage. Second year harder? Maybe. I think that varies a great deal. It depends on the individual and the residency. It also depends on when they get USMLE Step 3 out of the way. It also depends on whether one is doing research or pursuing an MS or MPH at the same time. Then there are those in unopposed residencies. I have Family Medicine residents in an unopposed residency that have much higher case loads and do many more procedures than the vast majority of Internal Medicine residents.
