Dating in medicine is so hard. Balancing crazy work schedules, sleep schedules, and trying to make time for each other. Wouldn’t have it any other way tho and glad that you guys have each other as support and it’s great to have someone that is very understanding of each other’s lifestyles. 🤗👍🏻

Great vlog idea, we need more 'real human beings' on all these social media, we are all sick of all the fakeness we see everyday making us feel sorry about our own lives (at least some of us feel that way seeing other people's ''perfect'' life). I think authentic videos are every day more appreciated, makes us feel more connected one to another because we can relate. Me: Oh so sometimes Miki has issues just like me. (Not that I'm happy about that of course, it's not a selfish thought, it's a thought that makes me feel closer to you).

Maybe use something else instead, like a black screen with white text saying like "later that day..." or similar. That way, we'd also have a better idea how the segments are related to one another.
The "good" thing about simplified Chinese is that it is MUCH easier for us foreigners to learn. Moreover Pinyin makes much more "sense" to foreigners compared to Bopomofo as it uses a Latin script. Traditional "hanzi" (汉字, 漢字) are by far the most beautiful and intricate!! I do not think I will ever be able to write in Traditional :( People who grew up in Taiwan, Hong Kong or Macau are in my opinion very lucky as they have been taught one of the most interesting writing systems!! PS In HK and Macau the main language is Cantonese, not Mandarin.

The word "rebel" is actually a heteronym. To pronounce it as "reb-uhl" or "ri-bel" are both correct, Miki. The only difference is "reb-uhl" is an adjective while "ri-bel" is a verb. English has a lot of words like these that don't make sense, especially to someone who is learning English as a secondary language. Rebel's pronunciation just varies depending on how it's being used in a sentence as an adjective or verb.

Some chinese depending where they are from do really speak with over pronouncing certain R's. Or at least that how it sounds to me. Other areas of china and taiwan speak those sounds much softer

Apparently they're both Taiwanese but we're studying and living in Japan. Miki was born in Japan and then her parents moved to the States.
