- Yelawolf stopped by Ebro In The Morning and shared an important conversation on the issues of race and how it affects him and his bi-racial son.
On top of just race, they also spoke about the outstanding issue with police and shared their personal encounters with law enforcement, as well as what influenced his "arena music" sound.

Yela.....dude actually thinks before he speaks.
honestly im a pretty liberal guy, but the way that this guy ebro conducts interviews, asks questions, and the way his views are presented it comes off as being a demagogue on race issues and it also comes across as being very condescending as if every single white person remotely associated with hip hop needs to be checked by this dude to make sure there not "stealing" what he feels is copyrighted and trademarked by black people
Yeah seriously he’s giving Yela a had ass time
Yup exactly
Exactly
@@guitarrwd Facts right off the rip he starts talkin about race
It's healthy!
"Scared cops are the worst....once you scare a cop, then you're in trouble." statement.
we also got ears u kno
I felt dat isshh!!
For you people who may not know the Southern way of life (Northerners etc etc). We live by a different standard in the south. You don't have to be black to struggle down here.
There are no segregated communities or schools. You live amongst one another. Poor w/ poor, wealthy w/ wealthy.
The north is the same way. Just because you are black/white does not mean you live with all blacks/white. You live where you can afford or are comfortable. The far west, and south western, areas are pretty big on race. Communities of just a specific race, or attacking people because they are a different race. Not all of it is like that, but it's a common problem you hear about when you hear about New Mexico, Arizona, California, etc.
I am aware of both of yall perspectives. Although I understand yall angles. I was just speaking from a general perspective. Every region is similar in some form or another. But at the same time every region has a specific difference for the majority. Appreciate the replies though.
I'm in Ga. Do you have knowledge of self?
***** I'm talking about thousands of historically heinous murderous genocide white folks committed on people play boi some of us dont forget.
it's funny you say that cuz we see things reverse here in the north.
Holy shit, Yelawolf was def the smartest one in the room by far. Maybe even everyone combined lol preach..
Honestly Mackelmore and Iggy are pop artists.
you dont say?
Louis VV no shit lol
+Louis VV wow random af
+Louis VV they are now cause of thier popularity and style of music they make .... but they didnt start out like that ....... and im know iggy fan but she did work her way into the position she is in .....
Louis VV Mackey more went underground and iggy turned on black people
I don't care if a rapper is white as long as they are authentic to themselves and respect black culture and recognise where the music came from. If they're good, they're good
So you’re saying a white rapper has to rap about guns, drugs and killing people and can’t be like lil dicky who has more talent than 90% of,the rappers out right now? Because that would be respecting the black culture of today.
so you have to admit that rap and hip hop is from black people for people to like white rappers what kind of bs is that rap is good with white and black dont bring color into this look at eminem hes white and is the greatest the goat so take that bogus none sense somewhere else
@@davidpage968 You’re purposely missing the entire point 🤦🏿♂️
Damn man I'm black (since that suppose to validate my statement these days) and I'm sick and tired of all these race issues, it needs to be talked about of course but I'm seeing a race divide between people again when it should never matter, why can't we have respect for those that are real to themselves, actually talented and that show respect for the culture and not leave everything up to race all the time, we are all human beings and we should all treat each other as such, like Kendrick said, fuck your ethnicity
Not everyone is like that bro. Think the change, feel the change, be the change and see the change.
I feel you bro but I'm talking about the ignorant people who actually have all these racial things to say about everything you know? That shit upsets me because we have came so far only to walk backwards and say I only love my race or that this person doesn't belong instead of having love for all human beings, but you're right everyone doesn't have that mentality and I respect the ones who don't so respect man thanks for your comment
Nah man, i understand completely. I experience it everday and witness others as well. Shouldve clarified. We have to address the people furthering the problem, without losing sight of the vast amount of people who are making the world a better place. Like this conversation starting from your discontent and expressing it. Much respect bro. I commented to show respect and be at least one person who could be the change and bring some optimism in this scenario.
Thanks man, I guess even if someone is trolling or is in strong conviction of their beliefs and very adamant of the things I disagree with wholeheartedly I have to still be able to keep my cool and not let it blind my foresight in everyone just loving all humans and respecting everyones culture and heritage because there is so much we can learn from one another if we are able to hold on to our culture and respect it and be willing to share it with others instead of saying oh no this is mine and you are white etc. so stay away, we have to learn that the world is bigger than just our block, ethnicity, culture, heritage, and race is only a socially systematic construct to keep us all segregated from one another, but like tupac said maybe people that share our vision can be the ones that plant the seed to others that may one day grow into the change that we want to see
Namaste my brother regardless of color. You've got a sharp mind and passion for change/truth. Keep doing what you're doing bro. The light will be seen at the right time.
Ebro is always trying to stir up some racial issues....
yeah, hes a fucking bitch. everyone on hot97 tries to bring fucking race into everything, shit is annoying. everyone needs to man/woman the fuck up and quit bitching about race.
Ya ebro is a bigot
Yep, biggest asshole next to Charlamange
I know lets just talk about music ebro be tripping frfr
well he is a jew.
Yelawolf......you are way to intelligent to sit and talk with these ignorant ass people!!!
I love Yelawolf responses. The interviewers are trying to hard to bring controversy out of him and you can sense their frustration. It's so disappointing that they do this for ratings instead of really trying to bring light to the situation.
Does it bother any one else that There's a lil Wayne picture in the back? Lol
Don't know if you know, but Wayne was actually a good rapper at one point.
PeeJay Torres Not so bad* He was never "good" in my opinion. But years ago he was tolerable. Now he makes me wanna go deaf.
***** not in my opinion. In my opinion he's never been worth listening to as most rappers. But his old stuff didn't make me wanna not have hearing
Yelawolf is authentic. I always respect that. He's a dope emcee too
Yeah he is one of the minds that were responsible for me stepping back and really thinking about the Dixie flag issue with out my black anger eyes and just use my human eyes.

Ebro be like "You take shits? How does that affect your biracial children?"
Has there been an interview involving E-Bro with a white person where he doesn't bring race in the entire interview? Dude is a joke.
Fr he’s damn near White himself
+That Guy wow...you really are a low iq bum
@That Guy imma regret this...i'm just bored lol. But we are one nation, one people right? always calling for unity? I get it, maybe if it was first generation, or someone was shutting out black people, but this ain't raps first generation. I grew up listening to more rap than anything else, my mom grew up in LA raised on NWA and Tupac. Since I was a kid I been bumping rap. I was raised in it. And so were so many people, white black asian hispanic and etc. So honestly, unless a white guy starts shouting the N-word in a rap, shut up about it man. This rap, and hip hop is my culture now too. And every races. It's a global phenomenon lets get off this cultural appropriation bullshit. It's stupid.
@King Mathers 250 Whites cause destruction
@King Mathers 250 I think Yelawolf said it best when he said, "White artists are definitely a guest when it comes to the culture of Black America’s musical arts, whether it be Hip Hop, Blues or even Rock & Roll if you wanna look at it that deep. You’ve gotta go back a long way to feel that way though."
Represent for Alabama!! We rarely have publicized talent :-(
Dixxxie Flags, American Flags, SLUMERICAN Tags On My SLUMERICAN Ass. Yeahahaaaa Yelawolf is the shit. #SlumFam
Confederate flags, I see 'em, in a truck with the windows down, why is he playing Beanie Seegel? Cuz his daddy was a dope man. Lynard Skynyrd didnt talk a bout moving keys of coke, man! #Slumerican #WishAMotherFucker
Interesting to see how he has evolved as an artist over the years. Hope he continues to bless the world with his music.
I love seein the white guys who are actually down with the cause and love black women, not culture vultures
The mixed kids suffer. They are not white or black or any other one race and the cultures clash daily.
Rittz,lil wyte,Jelly Roll, Yelawolf,Eminem,HAYSTAK-Real white rappers
I'm Bi-racial i have learned to embrace both of my heritage black and white though i do get tired of black people discarding disrespecting and also not acknowledging that i'm also half white. At the end of the day i'm a human being and as i grow and get older i don't really think about race anymore it isn't important nor does it matter because at the end of the day we are all human beings and we are all equal no race is better than the other those are my thoughts.

What a great interview...Yelawolf is always one step ahead!! A true rapper at heart!! ❤️
Love story was such a great album..i can say that no other album sounded like this
imma take a shot everytime Ebro says 'let's fast forward'
"Scared police are the worse, you know? Once you scare a policeman you're in trouble!" Yela said it right...and unfortunately many police are scared of what looks unfamiliar to them; hence the violence today. Just something to keep in mind: where purpose is unknown, abuse is inevitable. Everyone of us has to find our purpose and enrich lives, not be detrimental to life!
Love this dude. Do your research folks.
this interview went alot better than i thought it would...i been struggling with his new image and style a bit...then i talked to jellyroll recently about it and he opened up a whole new thought process...makes alot of sense..but he definately is pushing the envelope....i like his older music better, but this interview gave me dif. insight into this project..you guys gonna fuck with this new yela music? rittz is my shit times ten tho
Radio host is part of the problem of why there is a racial divide. But I love Yela's response @8:22.. Dude is so down to earth.
I like how they're interviewing one of the greatest rappers ever and their first topic is race.
Notice how the interviewer tries to push the false idea that his kids are black when they are in fact biracial and not black. A white person cannot biologically make black kids. His kids are biracial. That means not black or not one race.
yelawolfs hat is fucking fresh as a mafucker
Dude is the truth ... Em saw a true MC in Yela and that alone speaks volumes... Big fan.. cant wait for #LoveStory ...
#Slumerican
#Rittz !
damn yelawolf is a really smart and wise guy i already knew from his rap skills voice and lyrics that hes a genius but he even sound like a genius when he talks great conversationalist great dude and not just a rapper but a true artist love yelawolf
Been waiting for this interview. So stoked for this album.
ebro is a broken record. for ONCE i'd just like to enjoy an interview about an artist and actually hear more about their interests, their inspirations, whatever. without it always being about race and negative topics
I saw Yelawolf play in Australia. Sydney. Small arena - packed - best rap show to date. Yela had the whole front floor and seats jumping and shaking the whole building. Best Show!
Can't wait for his new album. love story is gonna be epic.
that first 9 minutes was handled beautifully. respect
You hear his southern slumerican ooooozing in his music....he rocks the most..I love you Yellawolf
'Is that really the reason? or is it just the music?' *smurk*
hahah Love it
Great interview
Colt Ford and Bubba Spraxx do an awesome job of blending hip hop and country.
Listening to the intro and first 3 or 4 songs on Radioactive I thought it was going to be awesome........ Then around the 7th song and on I was just shaking my head, not nodding
BIG ups to The YelaWolf of wall street. Doin it like very few can. respect for this dude
Dopest individual, artist, dude ever
Damm is this a political interview or a MUSIC interview how it should be?
DID ANYONE SEE YELAWOLF SCRATCH HIS HAT. WTFF. WHY WOULD HE BE ITCHY RIGHT THERE HAHAHA
YelaWolf handled this interview perfectly. They pushed a few buttons but he was cool as shit. And stop blaming the radio people for doing their job, they have to ask these questions. I'm from Bulgaria and I follow all the big morning radio shows via RUclips and I can honestly say this is the best station with the best hosts of them all.
There have been many people whom predicted such civil unrest years ago. The timing couldnt have been more exact. The U.S. military setting up "training" facilities all around the country. The local police departements becoming ever more real life storm troopers with surplus military equipment, and uped training in hazmat, gun confiscation and large scale riots. Now tell me why? Why ferguson and garner, why now? Why now have so many people white and black flooded the streets of almost every major city in protest? These events are a reverse engineered race civil war psy op, to get people consciously thinking about race yet dividing the races in a very different way. Dont be surprised if there are more police "assasinations". People are being played into thinking they are peacefully protesting, yet watch in the near future for the picture to be painted by the media and to the public like so. "Terrorists","Martial law","gun confiscation ", "military intervention","civil war". The cards have fallen too exact inplace to say this was no accident. And those cards now build the house of reality we all live in. We've been warned yet havent listened. And now the cards will come tumbling down....
God bless, and stay safe!
yelawolf is very intelligent...he has self awareness and emotional intelligence
well when i met yelawolf he was with all of his kids and he was a down to earth dude.... and i think he carries himself in a way a lot of HUMANS should.
I'm happy that they touched on the whole Dixie flag thing it makes me happy that we have ppl defending it instead of making it a problem. Love story is my favorite album ever
He does NOT have black kids. He has mixed race kids and the police don’t bother anybody unless they’re causing trouble or are suspected of something criminal.
The only good white hip hop artists are Eminem, Yelawolf, and Mac Miller. Before you tear into me on saying Mac is one of them let me clarify, Mac is only good when considering his last album Watching Movies with the Sound Off and everything after that album. The rest of Macs music is shit. Also does anyone else not like Ebro, I mean constantly bringing race into the conversation doesn't help anything. Racism will disappear the more we blend as a society. I'm not saying people should give up their identities by saying this but I'm saying if people constantly categorize one way or the other things won't get better.
Jelly Roll, Lil Wyte? Uhh....Rittz!??
RELEASE DATE OF "LOVE STORY" PLEASE!
such a great interview!!
.
You know what i can say and be proud to take from his interview discussion on controversy and his culture of his life style is infused within his music yela wolf dont see color what he sees is his love and passion for music he is a true humanitarian he is embracing love in his life aswell displaying how he feels and views how love should be embraced in his life the only way he knows how and his actions and his words clearly says it all
Can't wait for this album
I was born and raised in Missouri, i was there for the ferguson riots. It was crazy.....we gotta grow and not think so much about what color we are. We're all humans
Yelawolf is one of those rappers who I think are technically sound but I just can't get past his voice on most the tracks I hear him on. That said, I'm glad I saw this interview. He's a cool dude.
and for the record, my reaction was in sync when they said "hick-hop"
Listen to his hook on Psychopath Killer - Slaughterhouse.
Sounds amazing.
Enlarger
I've heard it, I don't hate everything he does and he's snuck his way into my library on a few other peoples albums but I would never sit down and listen to him on his own.
He's stated he went through a phase where he hated his voice. Funny because after I heard him say that I always hear a nasally ass voice. I've never noticed his voice up until the point that he said something lol.
when i first heard Eminem had signed a white boy.. I immediately checked him out, and thought he was ass. His voice was weird to me. But after getting used to him and listening to his story, his music grew on me and he's one of my favorites now. He's one of the most underrated MC's imo
What a great interviewer. Big dude was born to do that job
lol
Dude was really trying his best to stay on the race topic
I don't care about your color. If your cool with me I'm cool with you!!! I'm comfortable enough in my own skin and love myself enough to give love to others. Anybody can experience the process of opening your mind and eyes and heart to see were just one family under the sun.
Dope interview
Nelly did two country rap records
yeah this was sick, yela keepin it the realest
So funny they asking him those questions with that quote on the wall.
Good interview would love to see Yella rap about this racial problem.
To whom it may concern
The interviewer is confused by yelawolf’s style. 😂.
he got Fi Fi yo?! goooooood catch Wolf!
Love me some yela & can't wait for love story!!
Fuck that interview ended too quick lol. He's a cool guy, I wanted to hear more from him
ebro stay cutting people off smh
Folks callin out Iggy saying she aint Hip Hop (cuz she's white lets be honest). On the other hand nobody taking shots at Yelawolf, MGK and those white guys who got a strong rock'n'roll influence in their music. Its crazy how hypocrite people can be, especially towards women.
I call out these guys even this guy because he disrespect lord jamar
It's because she's not that good and she's white. Yelawolf and MGK are talented
This is retarded. Yelawolf is not the same as Iggy and I'll tell you why. Hiphop orginated from black people but anybody can take part in the culture and paint their own canvas. Yelawolf has been influenced just like all other rappers in the game, but his style is original and he is not mimicking anybody. Iggy Azelea is a minstrel show. Iggy doesn't have any talent what so ever. She raps in a ratchet black female's voice, get her verses written for her, and tries to gain fame through her sexual exploitation. Foh with that bs defending that crap.
Don't make this a sex issue, you obviously did not watch the Riff Raff interview.
LMAO yall dumb as hell. Dont blame the players, blame the Game. Thats what you dumb ass folks cant understand. Iggy didnt buy her award, the jury elected her ass based on several criterias. Thats it... If it wasnt Iggy it could be another artist cuz thats how the GAME AND THE SYSTEM are. Blame the fucking game not the white girl who actually only wants to work hard, do music, cash out and make an honest living.
The confederate flag wasn't even a flag used by by the confederate army its actually West Virginia's military flag
Its funny seeing him come from underground to big time. Me and my friend used to go to Atlanta and he would perform in front of like 20 people. Now he's performing in front of thousands***
hehe he hasn't been drinking cuz he sprays all of it into the crowd ;]
good interview
I could stare at him all day long.... he's sooo F'ing gorgeous, and his children are stunning!!
I think it's interesting how Fefe and Yela met, not because of race, but they both make quite different types of music, punk-pop and hop. I do enjoy their song though, and I give them my wished of luck.
Ebro stay trynna start shit... foh, yela shut him up haha
Love Yela and his family and his wife Fefe. ❤❤
Yela handled dat industry typical u know what. Love u yela
Wolf is one of the greatest/most underrated MCs of all time. Bro is more than 🔥
Salute to Yelawolf. Love you Yelawolf.
Good shit Yela. Cool ass dude right here. Keep on keepin on my dude. Slumerican made.
YELA IS SO WISE, this is just how I raised my children..... I really hate most cops. they always make me feel less than a man, less than a person.
He got them chocolate walls? Congratz brotha, welcome to the family.
dope posted this on the @YELAWOLFPACK on facebook
I know almost everybody here don't listen to country but Charley Pride was one of if not the best country artist in my opinion and back then a lot of people diddnt know he was black. for example my grandma was a huge charley pride fan and she got tickets to one of his shows mind you she lived in a very small extremely racist town she didn't know he was black well she went to the show and he played then george jones and she said ya know I ain't never seen a black person before and I ain't never gon dog on them again all because of a man who she was a fan of. with that being said everyone want to play the race card in music. it dumb. THEY MAKE MUSIC BECAUSE PEOPLE ENJOY IT AND THATS HOW PEOPLE CONNECT,NO MATTER WHAT YOUR ETHNICITY IS: ASIAN, BLACK, HISPANIC, WHITE
If we wan't to fight racism and get rid of it (which we should). We shouldn't get rid of the object or symbols related to racisme but the whole racist thought itself related to those objects or symbols.
The audio needs to be modified. I can barely hear it.
Lil Jon had the Dixie flag on his CD cover
Besides ghandi, John Lennon, and Jude Law
I'm a GenXer who stumbled upon country-rap in 2015 when I found (then) Upchurch the Redneck & I was hooked. I love Adam Calhoun, Tom Macdonald, Struggle Jennings & Burden. I don't know how I just discovered Yelawolf this year! I grew up going to underground clubs & biker bars & honky-tonks. Yelawolf looks like people I've known over the years. Funny thing is someone sent me a video about Cambo & I saw Yela & started a deep dive. He seems like an awesome dude. I wish he & Ryan Upchurch would hang out, ride Harleys and a song or two would be AMAZING!!!
I got tickets to see Jelly and Struggle in Wilmington, October 5th!!! If Yelawolf made a surprise appearance.. 🤯🥰
I would love it if eminent yells wolf and g easy made a song together yells and waxy are a like because they like to combine rap with other genres of music like country or like in g eazies case old rock and roll and classical music.
***** he can adapt anybody can learn anything if they are given enough time.
fuck g eazy
That Dixie flag is like the NY over the brim in New York. It represents the south, not the segregation. We rep where were from. I'm a Mexican from Texas and we fly that shit. In the whip y todo. Haha.
Yelawolf is so smart and logically talented but why the fuck are these dudes talking all the race? because he has black kids? the fucks it matter do you hear how stumped he is because this questions are off the wall? lets ask yelawolf about his next album, his next tour, his collabos projects, his next move and leave it at that hes an artist and whats it like to work with em and leave it at that. just saying
Elijah Sixx because it's a tough job to raise a child that may but pulled in two different directions. They can't dislike whites or blacks without invalidating a large portion of what they are. The challenges of raising a well adjusted child of European and African lineage is not for the faint of heart.
alright i understand that but there is no need to ask him about it, hes got it under control you could tell how uncomfortable he was answering i get the plight but even mentioning the bi racial feeds it and it doesn't matter we are all humans.
Elijah Sixx I feel you, they were kind of going in on that question a bit much. How he and his wife raise their children is really up to them.
exactly but i enjoy your reply, have a good day :)
Tell me.. How is the European Tour going!! Missing You...
yela a real one
Main I grew up in New York city and Pennsylvania I got black homies white homies latino homies I love life the politics are fucking this country up
