I feel like he puts all my thoughts and feelings into words. He makes me feel understood and takes me away from my eternal loneliness I've felt for so many years.
+TheOfficialBeatMaker his love story album scared me. He had a couple good tracks but nothing like he used to be. Hopefully he comes out with some more old yeller type shit.
[INTRO] So I had a phone call with a good friend of mine the other night And, um, it seems that I’ve created some confusion He told me straight up, people don’t know you like I do, man I guess I haven’t said enough, or maybe I’ve said too much, I don’t know But I don’t wanna leave any stone unturned or no questions about who I am Or what I represent So here you go… [VERSE] I grew up in the deep gutter Raised by wolves, church steeples, and a single white mother Taught to be blind to any colour by hippies who been smoking weed since the ‘60s With Dukes of Hazzard for bed covers Rock’n’roll, country music, and cocaine One hand on the Bible and the ouija board in the other The irony of it all is so thick that a fly would get stuck in the thin air of that dope smoke Lynyrd Skynyrd and Michael Jackson Practicing moonwalking with a broomstick in the kitchen, popping and locking No BET on television, we didn’t have it, we had the rabbits The 10-4, mason jar on the counter full of bacon oil Now looking back, talking ‘bout freedom, yeah you were spoiled Oblivious to the hideous crimes from the insidious minds That took place right below us on the Southern soil The blood and the pain left a recoil The creekwater’s holding secrets Ghosts of Confederate veterans in the wind Backwoods are haunted with the death and the sin Slave ships carried the lost souls Wicked white men slaughtering angels for a fucking bar code We buried these wicked ways, the world is still turning And these motherfuckers with they crosses is still burning Yeah, I seen ‘em at the courthouse Not really sure what they’re trying to prove still Jumped up on mountains they’re still trying to move hills And their daughters probably listen to Dru Hill Pussy hotter than blue steel for Dru Hill So Jesus come take the wheel No, you steer drunk The youth here’re punks The truth here it come I’ll show you how these country folks pop that trunk Uh, and my honesty is modest To tell the whole truth yeah I’ve pondered and I’ve pondered To be spit at and called a wigger from who you considered a father at 14 ‘ll make you wonder, and you wonder Yeah, that’s hard to hear, ain’t it But at that very moment my picture got painted Call it God, call it what you will But I knew the South was sick still and in need of some changes So I took it upon myself to adpot all of the outcasts I took the American and the Confederate flag Threw it in my back pocket, I even went and got tatts And carried them like a shield for the shit that once held me back And these redneck brothers of mine, playin’ that 3.6 In a fucking cornfield, in big trucks with lift kits Oblivious to the beauty of juxtaposition They had no idea how special it was to witness Them in deep Alabama playing Snoop and Group Home Big Hank and Metallica, I discovered a new zone And Catfish Billy, a way for me to talk about it From them on I was questioned and highly doubted by my peers Who didn’t understand that all these years we’d been the brunt of the jokes America made it clear that we were backwards, wrong, behind, and segregated So I decided that Yelawolf would go make it more obvious that we’ve grown I polished up my tone, I signed to Shady and brought a record deal home Look mama, no hands, I’m coming up, yeah I’m grown Respect from the OGs, cosigning my songs First it was Bun B, then Raekwon, and TIP Then all of these MCs wanted features from me But I was a live wire, my tongue was a fuckin’ blade to these critics Who didn’t get it, the clips from the grenade in my teeth A little too unique, the market for me was smaller than some thought it would be Even me so I looked in the mirror Saw the Jordans, the gold chain, my shirt-Pantera Rebel flag in my pocket, RED tattooed on my neck Heart of Dixie across the stomach and it ain’t clicked yet? Maybe I wore the wrong shoes back to the woods because these suede No. 5s can’t get wet Maybe it’s something I need to go figure out on my own So after Radioactive I took my shit back home Disappeared from the world, became increasingly different Tuned in every once in a while to see who was spitting But mainly I was in Nashville getting back to my roots Explorin’ music with Love Story, I made it my truth Dropped a single called Til It’s Gone and travelled the globe I started seeing rebel flags everywhere at my shows I didn’t think nothing of it, I assumed that they get it I’m on some New South shit, but I have to admit it I saw the posts up on Instagram proclaiming I’m racist And that I’m fucked in the head and I don’t know where my place is I started taking it personal ‘cause I treat people equal Homie, I got mixed kids and music is how I feed ‘em Lo and behold as I’m saying this I discover this evil White boy went in a church and killed 9 innocent people Goddamn, hold on, moment of silence Nine innocent church going people get murdered There’s not a word I can utter, there’s not a rhyme I can say There ain’t no fixing that ever, those people brutally slain And I refuse to see ways to justify all the blame That motherfucker’s insane I got so mad at my own image, I took down merch No explaining it now, it’s only making it worse This fucking coward, this criminal’s, just a puppet, a mental case But the truth is the truth, he did it because of race There’s nothing I can describe, the shame that I felt inside A white boy with the flag committed this homicide I tried solo to defend the South, and yes it was my decision My interviews broke on the internet, you can see my vision I never thought myself to be like a politician, just a witness to the sickness The kindling was in the bridge and the bricks that I laid to the road That I built from the love and the wisdom I’m trying to find my way But now I’m feeling imprisoned from the stereotypes I was prepared for the fight Hell, I’ll be stereotyped until my burial site I married a loaded gun when I married this mic Ain’t playing Russian roulette, ain’t playing ‘round with my life ‘Cause what I cannot lose is the respect that I’ve gained Friendships I cherish, fuck the money and fame Black American culture is in the thread of my veins It’s rock’n’roll till I die, I’m just a rebel in shame Yes I apologize for me and anybody with that flag Honestly, any proud Southerner is sad How do you think I feel when I look at my grandad Imagining him dead because of that piece of trash I got nephews, nieces, who need this, peace between this But media is fiendish So if you feel like you’re above it or beneath it Have a logical mind about who your team is And when you look at me, dawg, don’t look at me like another branch off a tree Lord, I took this shit and balanced it the best that I could Try to hold up the wood of America’s old see-saw But this ain’t Hee Haw with MeMaw We ain’t on the Cosby Show, are we, bro Daddy may give a goodnight kiss, but I can promise you this That you ain’t promised tomorrow I wish I could go back to the innocence I remember my friends with no differences But pigment is relative, isn’t it Maybe by 2050 we’ll be over it Big KRIT, I love you homie, keep killin’ shit You inspired this verse, I got your back and let’s live with this It is what it is, we cannot fix all this ignorance Slumerican flags up, it’s over, I’m ending this
Correction. Verse 1 - we had the rabbits with tin foil, mason jar on the counter full of bacon oil. Talking about the rabbit ear antenna and they would put tin foil on the ends to make them a little heavier and it would pick up the station a little better. True south shit!
I still get GOOSEBUMPS (LITERALLY) every time I hear this song, and I've heard it a million times. And we'll listen to it a million times over. Would love sometime to just sit and pick this poetic and eloquent man's brain.
I was wondering how he would address this rebel flag issue as you cant force people to understand a different walk of life (southern culture) until they have walked it.all I can say is well done. I have been a fan and now im more of a fan. #slumerican
+Joe Ritola As an European I assume Southern Culture is more than just a flag. Always thought it was weird how this flag is cherished as it is the complete package of southern culture. Don't take me wrong, it's obvious it's a big part of it. Just ask yourself, does Southern hospitality dissapear when a flag does? Does the cuisine suddenly change? The accent? The music? The landscape? The mentality? Personally I wonder if when a flag upsets so many people all over the world over it's affiliation with a time of (severe and systemical) racism is it still worth it? Is it that crucial to what the south is? Does the south significantly change, or will it look for another symbol of southern pride? I think it should be up to the south to decide, and am not trying to take a stance. Just trying to start a conversation as I have a difficult time understanding the impact of it possibly dissapearing.
+Michiel Prak Well said. As a "southern" lady it pains me that my flag is taken from me. But, for some, it is very much like the nazi flag. Not what it means to me, but losing it wont change me. Thank you sir for very wise words.
+Michiel Prak Big krit supports the rebel flag and he is black himself and he is also very intelligent. He understands as a person from the south, this flag does not represent slavery it represents where he grew up and where his parents grew up and so on. Think about this, say a person makes a mistake early in there life, and they forever are remembered by that mistake and they get criticized every time someone sees them just because of this one mistake. should we continue to criticize this person or should we be mad at the parents for not teaching this person better?should we not accept this kid because he made that one mistake because he wasn't taught the right way?The rebel flag is a product from people from the south but at the time it was created a lot of people from the south believed that this wrong thing was right because they were taught that way by incorrect parents.its like accusing a white person from the south that he is a terrible person because his ancesters long ago had wrong beliefs. But if you try to tell him that this flag representing where he grew up is taboo, its like telling him where he grew up and his family and ancestors are taboo. And we are all taught to represent where we come from.
Great argument. Of course your roots are important and shouldnt be swept under a rug. However as far as my knowledge of history the civil war started over the north wanting to ban slavery right? The southern economy would have collapsed so the confederate union and flag were born. The flag basically is linked mostly to that era simply because it was born when that era (civil war) started. Please correct me if I am wrong. So its not so much a time frame in which it was used, but one in which it originated. Also what might be interesting to know is over here in Europe 'repping' where you are from is culturally deemed less important (especially after world war two which still is pretty recent history). So that doesnt help understanding either. Its a tough decision to make for sure. Both sides have a truth to them.
+Michiel Prak You have great points as well. I don't understand why people don't have great conversations like this more often and actually think about things for once. Personally I believe black folks could use this flag as like a statement like: "this is where my ancestors were, and this is where I am now."or"look how far we have come. From being whipped and worked for nothing to today in which we now have a black president."if they represented the rebel flag they can say these things and it would make sense. and some do! Just a random thought.
Crazy listening to this years later, this guy was homeless, shady signed him, blew up, mad respect ❤, all his songs have meaning behind them, listening, moment of silence is what he’s saying is true . From nothing to something
He wasn't homeless buddy, idk where you heard that from. He had record deals and brands before Shady Records. That's some complete bullshit, but I agree, he's come a long way. He was singed to Interscope Records before Shady 😂 that's not f'n "homeless" by no means lmao. Where did you even hear that from?
Its ironic because we represent the same walks off life but from different cultures. Yelawolf embodies the spirit of the outsider, the ones who have been downtrodden by society. I grew up poor and white and in the south and that's one thing I Love was people ability to get along, were all just humans along for this crazy ride. Theres too much confusion these days, you know 60% of americans don't even have $1000 is savings. Were all in this together. There is no one race holding the others down. Its up to you and me, us, we.
Same. I've heard this before but rn I just heard it, heard it. I have no words to exactly describe the immense and utter admiration I feel pulsating thru me every time Yela blows my mind with everything he does: i.e. lyrics, flow style, his delivery, the feels, what I feel... I felt 'IT' all the way thru my core and every fiber of my being ♡ I'm in awe. Is there anything Yelawolf can't master?? I highly doubt it. He puts his all into everything he does...no doubt about it. I swear I can feel him emitting ubiquitous background radiation like cosmic space rays lol I just now fully received the connection and I understand more... #RADIATION < °○°>
I never was a big supporter of the flag but don't label any supporter a racist by instance. It's more of a history of pride (southern culture) versus history of suffering (the slavery) debate, which aspect does it represent the most? That differs to any person. Obviously Yela is a supporter, fine. He makes really dope music and is not a racist. That's enough for me.
perfectly stated... all these calling him racist never come back when I ask "How many 'racists' you know have mixed kids and a black wife?" - he's proved it plenty. and his music is getting better and better and that's saying a lot.
Yelawolf, I phukken love how much you've grown as an artist since I've been following you (2008). You're such a huge inspiration as artist to me, & we dont even create the same type of art. I am a beadworker & drawer. You helped me find my voice in so many of my pieces. I will support #Yelawolf until I can't no more. #CreekWater

+Specter187 a classic doesn't have to be vintage. Love Story is a classic because, it's going to be the album people think of when they think of yelawolf, it's going be an album people will listen too for years on years.
Unless Royce is prepared to publicly explain why he feels the way he feels, I can't fuck with him no more. Im not saying I have to agree with him, I just need to understand because right now he's looking crazy.
His DJ, DJ klever said something racist while drunk supposedly. That's why he left wolf's side right after Royce talked shit. Really sucks they had such great chemistry
Wow I'm blown away . Never really listened to yelawolf mainly i guess because I was never introduced to his music or had friends that listened to him. For the past few months its been nothing but pretty much yelawolf playing thru my speakers home and car and if there ever was anyone that touched my heart in a way I can't explained yelawolf has , God bless you my friend you bring truth In a way thats easily understood . Thank You
Yellawolf I admire who you are as a person a real ass dude who just so happens to be one of my favorite artist. My wife played one of your songs for me about 5years ago and boy was I amazed with your style I mean styles. Can’t say to much but this song is something that touches me and a lot of people need to hear and realize what’s really going on. Big ups to you much love my brother
Royce and Joe talkin' all that shit. Ya do know this song is years old already right? And I'm proud to say I'm from Newark, New Jersey and I don't cosign Joey. He a mutt. Slumerican for life!
@@intelligenthoodlumpodcast7627 Supposedly from what I hear someone in Yela's camp said some racist shit and he didn't do anything about it. But the way I see it if you got a bunch of white boys from the south on your team one of them is bound to say some ignorant racist shit. It don't mean he cosigns it though. Like I can't be responsible for everything that come out of my boy's mouth. I'm not gonna be defending somebody everywhere I go. We grown ass men. Something come out your mouth you better be able to handle that shit and back your shit up. I'm not your father. That's how it is with my own boys. If they get themselves into trouble then they better be able to get themselves out of it. I ain't getting shot cause you gotta big mouth. But let's say at the end of the day you get jumped for no reason or somebody wanna act tough, then I'll get in it. But other than that I wash my hands clean. And if you the type of dude always getting into drama then I'ma just cut you off. I don't need that energy around me. But anyway I think that's what happened. Nothing to do with Wayne himself.
To be honest he can say all this go outside his house and be someone completely different. it dont take much at all. We dont even have all the information required to say who's really trippin 🤷🏿♂️ what we do know for fact is Royce called him out yella said something back on Twitter dropped music but said nothin at all about the issue didn't defend himself or deny anything either. This shit crazy
Been bumping this since it came out. My guess is yela called it like he seen it and Royce is pushing some hard anti white shit probably why he hasnt blown up. His lyrics are really good he is one of the best. But I personally wont support anymore of his stuff because I dont like the message in his newest songs. To divisive i try to use music to get in a good mood and royces last drop takes shots and has much hate towards other races. I dont want to support any prejudice people. And he showed his hand. Sucks cause I truly liked most of his stuff. Caterpillar is one of my favorite tracks. Cocaine is truly touching. But some of the bars in his last release completely turns me off to him.
Clout it's plain and simple if it was a big issue why talk about it now Royce? You have known about this since you met Yelawolf but now a album on its way and you start this?
@@TheReilus912 or Royce was actin like a pos towards him and yela stood up for himself and now yela is a racist for disagreeing just like all these leftists today

Royce never said Yela was an "Evil Racist" don't come here talkin like dj vlad and lord jamar with that fake ass story vlad was trynna sell lmaooooo. Yelawolf is incredible, but to say Royce is whack is blasphemous.
All I see is people bitching about Eminem "sucking" which is not even true. Uhhh had it occur to some of you that Eminem and Yelawolf are on the same team. Em is Yela's mentor. He brought HIM in, and you wanna say that Eminem sucks? If Yelawolf thought Eminem sucked, he would've never worked with him in the first place.
omg he has just sang my whole childhood....he even went as far as the music we listened to hanging out drinking on open land. love this Small town Georgia is where I grew up. Love this man
fuck yeah bro i look forward to his next gig here i'm defo going. he's such a deep thinker and thats evident and why so many folk are instantly inspired by his music.
Sorry, but something about Royce’s accusation does not add up. Not believing Yela is racist. Maybe some of his fans are, but the same could be said for fans of Royce. Having a POS fan doesn’t define the artist. Seems like slander to me, and if it is an unfounded accusation which easily has the potential to destroy Yela’s career, I will cease listening to Royce. On the other hand, if Royce is right, Yela does need to be held accountable. I’ve spent time in Alabama. My father lived there. For Yela to marry a black lady and have two mixed kids in that state? I guarantee he has experienced major discrimination for it! This doesn’t add up.
@@oddijohnston9144 First off, Second Nature is right. It's a templar cross or technically a Maltese cross. If you're one of those people who look for racism, you can find it in anything. Racism has become subjective. Second, I grew up with Wayne, he isn't racist. Never was. He's been married twice, both to black women, and has mixed children. 3rd, the song is in reference to Yela using the confederate flag early in his career and defending it as culture. For many in the south it does not represent racism but is a cultural symbol. I personally am not a fan, and I can understand why the flag is divisive. Yelawolf came to this realization and has since taken the flag off of all his apparel. This song is his apology.
This is why I like both Eminem and Yelawolf equally They both rap about the truth real life stories. they dont fabricate a fake money, girls fast girls lifestyle to their audience. I'll seen Yelawolf three times and Eminem twice. They both have an amazing stage present! Its not Em Vs Yela ! Em + Yelawolf = Shady Records!
+Foreverjakec Of course white boy, you know so much about rap. All rap talking about money and girls has to be faked cause a rich rappers could never have any of those things. Even if some of them don't live like that, music doesn't always have to be about real life. You can rap about anything including what you'd like to have
"I wish I could go back to the innocence, I remember my friends with no differences" damn right, my best friend was 100% Nigerian, another was Middle-Eastern, one was Japanese, 4 were just white like me, I never even thought about skin or pigment until I started getting older and the world makes you think about this shit, "maybe by 2050 we'll be over it" sad that it might even take longer, "but it is what it is, we can't fix all this ignorance"
This has been one of my favorite songs since it dropped, all of the comments since then are just showing how great this song is, beautiful.. just beautiful
Yo mann WTF! I dont care what anyone says yelawolf is right next to shady for the best artist ever. that song was sick. cant wait for the new album. And for the concert to come. F*** Yah
WOW, Awesome, haven't heard anything as good and deep as this in a long while. Does anyone else see the similarity between Eminem's "Yellow Brick Road" and this song? 2 White artists in black music, among the best (in my opinion) Both at the time (2004 Eminem and 2015 Yelawolf) falsely accused of being a racist and both bouncing back with 2 awesome rhymes.
Thank you so much for sharing your gift with the world. If more people could listen to what your preaching here I know the world would be that much more kinder to one another. So many artists try to envoke a feeling in their audience but very few do what you did perfectly with this masterpiece bro. Again I say thank you Yela.
I can't believe that anybody especially Royce 59 act like this man racist his wife black kids mix what more does he have to prove doesn't matter who he hangs out with
As a southerner this gives me goosebumps to this day. Speaking words I didn't know I felt so strongly about. You have a great perspective wolf. Much love bro.
Royce was a hoe for this. I love Royce da 5'9", but he was wrong for attacking yelawolf for something someone else did. And calling him racist. Royce is a dope MC but don't even have the balls to handle lupe fiasco or fix slaughterhouse when he was supposed to be captain. And let crook and Joell slide. Mf talk shit about joe budden. But he actually has the balls to say shit... anyways lol yelawolf deserves his flowers 💐 thanks for bringing me up sir when I was down and doing bad. 🙏🏼

RUclips putting an ad right at the "hold up moment of silence" part of the song is wild
[INTRO]
So I had a phone call with a good friend of mine the other night
And, um, it seems that I’ve created some confusion
He told me straight up, people don’t know you like I do, man
I guess I haven’t said enough, or maybe I’ve said too much, I don’t know
But I don’t wanna leave any stone unturned or no questions about who I am
Or what I represent
So here you go…
[VERSE]
I grew up in the deep gutter
Raised by wolves, church steeples, and a single white mother
Taught to be blind to any colour by hippies who been smoking weed since the ‘60s
With Dukes of Hazzard for bed covers
Rock’n’roll, country music, and cocaine
One hand on the Bible and the ouija board in the other
The irony of it all is so thick that a fly would get stuck in the thin air of that dope smoke
Lynyrd Skynyrd and Michael Jackson
Practicing moonwalking with a broomstick in the kitchen, popping and locking
No BET on television, we didn’t have it, we had the rabbits
The 10-4, mason jar on the counter full of bacon oil
Now looking back, talking ‘bout freedom, yeah you were spoiled
Oblivious to the hideous crimes from the insidious minds
That took place right below us on the Southern soil
The blood and the pain left a recoil
The creekwater’s holding secrets
Ghosts of Confederate veterans in the wind
Backwoods are haunted with the death and the sin
Slave ships carried the lost souls
Wicked white men slaughtering angels for a fucking bar code
We buried these wicked ways, the world is still turning
And these motherfuckers with they crosses is still burning
Yeah, I seen ‘em at the courthouse
Not really sure what they’re trying to prove still
Jumped up on mountains they’re still trying to move hills
And their daughters probably listen to Dru Hill
Pussy hotter than blue steel for Dru Hill
So Jesus come take the wheel
No, you steer drunk
The youth here’re punks
The truth here it come
I’ll show you how these country folks pop that trunk
Uh, and my honesty is modest
To tell the whole truth yeah I’ve pondered and I’ve pondered
To be spit at and called a wigger from who you considered a father at 14
‘ll make you wonder, and you wonder
Yeah, that’s hard to hear, ain’t it
But at that very moment my picture got painted
Call it God, call it what you will
But I knew the South was sick still and in need of some changes
So I took it upon myself to adpot all of the outcasts
I took the American and the Confederate flag
Threw it in my back pocket, I even went and got tatts
And carried them like a shield for the shit that once held me back
And these redneck brothers of mine, playin’ that 3.6
In a fucking cornfield, in big trucks with lift kits
Oblivious to the beauty of juxtaposition
They had no idea how special it was to witness
Them in deep Alabama playing Snoop and Group Home
Big Hank and Metallica, I discovered a new zone
And Catfish Billy, a way for me to talk about it
From them on I was questioned and highly doubted by my peers
Who didn’t understand that all these years we’d been the brunt of the jokes
America made it clear that we were backwards, wrong, behind, and segregated
So I decided that Yelawolf would go make it more obvious that we’ve grown
I polished up my tone, I signed to Shady and brought a record deal home
Look mama, no hands, I’m coming up, yeah I’m grown
Respect from the OGs, cosigning my songs
First it was Bun B, then Raekwon, and TIP
Then all of these MCs wanted features from me
But I was a live wire, my tongue was a fuckin’ blade to these critics
Who didn’t get it, the clips from the grenade in my teeth
A little too unique, the market for me was smaller than some thought it would be
Even me so I looked in the mirror
Saw the Jordans, the gold chain, my shirt-Pantera
Rebel flag in my pocket, RED tattooed on my neck
Heart of Dixie across the stomach and it ain’t clicked yet?
Maybe I wore the wrong shoes back to the woods because these suede No. 5s can’t get wet
Maybe it’s something I need to go figure out on my own
So after Radioactive I took my shit back home
Disappeared from the world, became increasingly different
Tuned in every once in a while to see who was spitting
But mainly I was in Nashville getting back to my roots
Explorin’ music with Love Story, I made it my truth
Dropped a single called Til It’s Gone and travelled the globe
I started seeing rebel flags everywhere at my shows
I didn’t think nothing of it, I assumed that they get it
I’m on some New South shit, but I have to admit it
I saw the posts up on Instagram proclaiming I’m racist
And that I’m fucked in the head and I don’t know where my place is
I started taking it personal ‘cause I treat people equal
Homie, I got mixed kids and music is how I feed ‘em
Lo and behold as I’m saying this I discover this evil
White boy went in a church and killed 9 innocent people
Goddamn, hold on, moment of silence
Nine innocent church going people get murdered
There’s not a word I can utter, there’s not a rhyme I can say
There ain’t no fixing that ever, those people brutally slain
And I refuse to see ways to justify all the blame
That motherfucker’s insane
I got so mad at my own image, I took down merch
No explaining it now, it’s only making it worse
This fucking coward, this criminal’s, just a puppet, a mental case
But the truth is the truth, he did it because of race
There’s nothing I can describe, the shame that I felt inside
A white boy with the flag committed this homicide
I tried solo to defend the South, and yes it was my decision
My interviews broke on the internet, you can see my vision
I never thought myself to be like a politician, just a witness to the sickness
The kindling was in the bridge and the bricks that I laid to the road
That I built from the love and the wisdom
I’m trying to find my way
But now I’m feeling imprisoned from the stereotypes
I was prepared for the fight
Hell, I’ll be stereotyped until my burial site
I married a loaded gun when I married this mic
Ain’t playing Russian roulette, ain’t playing ‘round with my life
‘Cause what I cannot lose is the respect that I’ve gained
Friendships I cherish, fuck the money and fame
Black American culture is in the thread of my veins
It’s rock’n’roll till I die, I’m just a rebel in shame
Yes I apologize for me and anybody with that flag
Honestly, any proud Southerner is sad
How do you think I feel when I look at my grandad
Imagining him dead because of that piece of trash
I got nephews, nieces, who need this, peace between this
But media is fiendish
So if you feel like you’re above it or beneath it
Have a logical mind about who your team is
And when you look at me, dawg, don’t look at me like another branch off a tree
Lord, I took this shit and balanced it the best that I could
Try to hold up the wood of America’s old see-saw
But this ain’t Hee Haw with MeMaw
We ain’t on the Cosby Show, are we, bro
Daddy may give a goodnight kiss, but I can promise you this
That you ain’t promised tomorrow
I wish I could go back to the innocence
I remember my friends with no differences
But pigment is relative, isn’t it
Maybe by 2050 we’ll be over it
Big KRIT, I love you homie, keep killin’ shit
You inspired this verse, I got your back and let’s live with this
It is what it is, we cannot fix all this ignorance
Slumerican flags up, it’s over, I’m ending this
Thank you

Right 👍 here 😂)
I was wondering how he would address this rebel flag issue as you cant force people to understand a different walk of life (southern culture) until they have walked it.all I can say is well done.

Why do we have to pit Eminem against Yelawolf? Can't we just enjoy the music?
Ikr. Em and Yela on the same team anyways
+Intranet Gaming any white rapper will be compared to Em. Just how it is. It also doesn't help that Yela's signed to Eminem's label either...
+Josh Valdez Well that's stupid, can't you see? especially when Eminem is promoting Yela's albums
+Intranet Gaming I usually hate it when people do that, too. But when he goes in at 5:12, it does sound similar to new school Em.
+Intranet Gaming kuz internet is dumb as fuck.

+Michiel Prak Tbh that's the first fair representation of the debate I've heard since this whole thing has been going down

Whos here because of the Royce 5'9" beef? This shit must be very complex and personal. Its not adding up tho

+Jacobblockman thanks Jacob have you seen them live?
+Foreverjakec They do need to perform live together though. That would be fucking amazing.
+Foreverjakec Of course white boy, you know so much about rap. All rap talking about money and girls has to be faked cause a rich rappers could never have any of those things. Even if some of them don't live like that, music doesn't always have to be about real life. You can rap about anything including what you'd like to have
+Scoring57 But you shouldn't claim to live a certain way when you don't.
***** Just like all the white people who talk like they're black now. That's faker than a music video about mansions and hoes
This should get a release on Spotify, its soo good!
One of the realest rappers out there. Much respect Yela! You killed this one
man I can't get enough of this dude I really love yelawolf with all my heart and soul dude is the best thing in any genre of music period

I'll show you how these country boys pop that trunk!!
Every time!
This Barry Young and we're from here. Sorry. And I completely relate
Yeah, most of us dont think about it until the rotten ones make us think about it. Good thing I have my own mind and dont buy into bullshit though lol
I love eminem, but even him can't do shit like that, loved it
Wtf lol
+Gail Kelly he's right, em can't write shit like this
+Hiphop4life2011 are you stupid go listen to mosh by Eminem that's political
+Murad Brazil Eminem did exist before Recovery!
+Gail Kelly encore as an album is awful, sure it's political but it isn't the same feel as what yelawolf creates
This has been one of my favorite songs since it dropped, all of the comments since then are just showing how great this song is, beautiful.. just beautiful
Apparently I simply gratefully thank no,lol .all my fans yes sir.-&-no mam?.
Yo mann WTF! I dont care what anyone says yelawolf is right next to shady for the best artist ever. that song was sick. cant wait for the new album. And for the concert to come. F*** Yah
agree but over all he is a better artist them Eminem. yup I said it :)
+heidi elliott lol you're dumb if you think that.. Yela would probably laugh in your face.. while thanking you.
+heidi elliott listen to Infinite by Eminem, then come back with a valid arguement, if you still have one
yela should play this song on jimmy fallon with the roots. it would speak volumes
compared to other hip hop artists, which i love alot of, YelaWolf is str8 up on a different level. GOAT!!
Legit! It's too bad he doesn't get the recognition he deserves
All thanks.
I can't believe that anybody especially Royce 59 act like this man racist his wife black kids mix what more does he have to prove doesn't matter who he hangs out with
Yes sir😢😮😅
As a southerner this gives me goosebumps to this day. Speaking words I didn't know I felt so strongly about. You have a great perspective wolf. Much love bro.
Love this song. Sorry you're taking a break, Yela. Hope you get through what you're going through. I'll always be a fan. No matter what.
Hands down.. my favorite rapper.
This shit gives me chills...forever yella
BIG FUCKIN FACTS AND IT DID IT AS SOON AS I REACHED UR COMMENT 💪💪💪💯💯💯💯💯
no apologies needed yela. just a few bad eggs out there makin it worse for the whole
dropping knowledge i love it
Royce was a hoe for this. 🙏🏼
YELAWOLF FOR PRESIDENT!!!!
If that means I can go to the corner store, get a 12 pack and a pack of joints, add me to the list.
blackmale78 your very smart because I think the same thing
Vendable Bow
They (Fistfull/Slumerican) don't really like to get political. They just their form of art.
