At 12:30, he's talking about Dylan Roof. They aren't from the same area, but he had pictures with the confederate flag, so that's exactly when Yelawolf took down the merch.

    • @miaclaudio5428
      @miaclaudio5428 3 года назад +4

At least he did and he's telling the truth he does have mixed kids you cannot have mixed kids and not love them because the love for your children is stronger than anything in this world oh, and just cuz he's white in from Alabama doesn't mean he didn't know the difference maybe he was scared when he was younger but now he's telling you that he had a horrible child till you know this with his mom and now his stepdad who was crazy obviously and this kid isn't he can't be prejudice. I'm sorry if you think so but look at me and I know Yelawolf is not prejudice like he said he's seen those flags his whole life when you seen the Magcon since he didn't think really no big deal he thought he was merging people together because he's at Eminem's concerts md-12 and all them oh, so how could people think he was prejudiced and I know that Royce has spoke up on this and he thinks that yes Yelawolf is prejudice, but I don't know and I don't think so I'm sorry I think Yelawolf is a great rapper and rock artist, like he said he listen to Michael Jackson in when it's candid so did I. I love rock and roll Led Zeppelin Def Leppard Metallica please but I also love Motown , you can be ecliptic with your music that's okay. Mia

Appreciate you for taking the time to react to this video I’ve been a wolf fan since I saw him live in 2010 yelawolf tells the story about the % of us that don’t have a voice, I cannot stand ignorance or racism from anybody I wish we could all build together and squash this world from it & never go down that path again, I believe change is coming it takes a long time it seems like but the media and politics hold us back from so much, fr tho it’s dope seeing your appreciation for yelas art, a lot of his songs have taught me so much and I don’t feel alone even tho I am not from the south I am from the midwest & a lot of these ignorant small towns are so simple minded, but the bigger city’s around these towns get the more progressive there thinking gets, fr respect for this man!

You mean that you feel that the Bible and the Ouija Board reference is similar?
See, I don't think so - just in my opinion based only upon my life experiences - bc doesn't the Bible preach that there are no coincidences and that all things are acts of God's?
Something like that. My point being that there are explanations for everything - it is God's Will.
This is what was drilled into my head when my dad made me go to church.
My mom, on the other hand, taught me that things come in threes, birds that were brought from outside into your house (like from your cats😒), not walking under ladders...I could go on and on - that these are bad things. Bad vibe things. I'm not sure what to word is.

Yelawolf has to be one of the best and just realest artists alive right now. nothing but incredible work and truth out of his mouth.

    3:44 - Meaning
"One hand on the Bible and the other on a ouija board"
    - he talks about being raised in church and also a life of sin.
    - "country music and cocaine"
-He talks about being taught by hippies not to see color but at the same time having dukes of hazard (rebel flag) bed covers.
Basically - the first time he was exposed to a rebel flag was bed covers from the same people who taught him not to see color.
    - This song is about the rebel flag. What it use to mean to him and what it means now
    -William Faulkner level imagery.
    I relate to this song

the first time and every time this song, it brings tears to my eyes .Now in my late 40's I have felt this same way my entire life. I was raised not to be color blind, but to embrace our differences and submerge myself into other cultures. I remember in 1986 Run DMC made a song and video with Aerosmith "Walk this Way" I thought that was going to be the start of something beautiful. But The media and record labels shut that genre down and mostly promoted gangsta rap to push their racist and black on black crime agendas. And yet some 35 yrs. later the Media is still trying to drive a wedge between us. Thank the universe for artists like Yelawolf, Tech9, and Cory M.F. Taylor. We keep doing our part CANCEL THIS RACIST CULTURE...!!!

I’m from the same town as Yelawolf in AL...I remember when he was going round town selling his music out of his trunk...still own a burnt CD of his earlyyyyyyyy stuff.....He is far from racist...he’s as close to the black community and culture as you can get and still be white...even his own white southern town hardly supported him (except his young fan base..they are die hard Mf’s! Lol)........early on his concerts and fans carried the rebel flag until he designed his own Slumerican flag in hopes they would stop for more reasons than the ones he talked about in the song above(Slumerican flag is about bringing cultures together ...it’s a new way of life ...a culture of it’s own) ....it’s is so hard to explain the different meanings for that damn rebel flag to people in the south unless you’re from here....for some it’s a symbol of hate for sure and that hate should be condemned and not tolerated!....for some it’s a symbol of location/home and the rebel culture not associated with race at all like Lynard Skynard for example....but people outside don’t understand so the real people that don’t accept prejudice are learning we have to give up the flag completely so no one misunderstands...anyone that keeps flying it...you have to ask them why/what does it mean for them....................as for Yela’s being accused of being racist no way! ..SOME people want respect without earning it and when they don’t get it (just because they associate themself with someone who is respected) they get butt hurt and then try and make it about race.........SOME don’t like Yela is friends with Kid Rock but that friendship goes way back and Yela will tell you how much he appreciates the help he got from Kid (just like he got from Eminem) when he was coming up...doesn’t mean he has same beliefs but Kid & Em EARNED his respect....People only want him to do the fast hard rap but he is capable of so much more and they discount his talents when he does different sounds....most rappers can only rap...how many can sing too and cross over into different lanes?....not many! People wan’t him to be another Eminem but that’s not what Yela is trying to do. As a matter of fact he is putting out a rock album maybe this year and I can’t wait to see what he does with it. His music isn’t for everyone and he is ok with that as long as it’s the music HE want’s to do. We should just appreciate we get to witness it. He’s a unicorn!

He literally just described my life while.growing up. Only I had both parents, but they had me at 18 and we live in Southern Illinois, which acts like the South. Literally identical to what he is describing. Also, I am 35 years old.

A lot of us who came up in the 90s remember the days being taught to be colorblind and take people on their merits and their deeds, and I have to say that was a better way. You don’t fix hate with more hate.
