You might have noticed the engine rpm's are lower now as the Stryker pulley has one more "tooth" than the V Star pulley, 30 versus 31 I think. Anyone with a belt drive motorcycle should be checking periodically that the front drive belt pulley nut is tightened to specifications or the transmission output shaft will be damaged beyond repair and will have to be replaced.
I did notice a difference with the Stryker pulley. I agree about periodically checking the front pulley. I'm glad that the output shaft splines weren't damaged beyond repair. Thanks for watching.
Changing the sprocket lowered the rpms when cruising at highway speeds. It doesn't improve acceleration. I think it made the speedometer more accurate also.
On my 2011 Stryker when I do a rear tire change, if I tighten the belt to spec it makes a horrible vibration noise from the pulley area. I have had to do it exactly the way you did to quite the vibration, and have read on the forums that others have had the same issue. The manual spec must be to tight.
The mechanic just checked the pulley. The noise was only caused by that small thing that you hit to tighten. Apparently, it had been opened before but wasn’t hit to be tightened properly and was also dirty a bit.
This is where I bought the pulley from. www.actionmotorsportsyork.com/oem-parts#/Yamaha/STRYKER_-_XVS13CAB_-_2011/TRANSMISSION/5dd135a7-b6a3-4e46-ac37-42863c6d7c4c/809e02df-7005-4fba-80dd-7c92cef55e68/y The Part Number is: 27d-17651-00
Thanks for your videos. I've got a 09 yamaha vstar 1300 and watching you has helped alot
You're welcome. Thanks for watching!

hello, what does changing the sprocket to 31 teeth give?
greater acceleration or greater power?

take it apart again and add some Molykote to the end of the shaft, it'll reduce the wear, known as fretting, in the output shaft
Thank you for the information. I'll look into that.

I agree with the specs. It does seem to be too tight. Thanks for watching!
They want you to wear out that $500 drive belt a lot sooner.
@thehoneybadger8089 that's for sure. I set my belt a little looser than spec.
Should have used a new washer and nut.
You are correct.
I have 950cc 2009, I noticed when pulling it when is switched off hearing the kinda noise so I assume that’s the same. Should I take it serious?
It's worth checking it out. The side cover isn't very difficult to remove.

@gr1204 that sounds like an easy fix.
Where did you order the Stryker pulley?

Doing this conversion will make your speedometer and odometer start telling you the truth!
Yes,!
