The killer is not a person , it's a mimic that adopts the stories people tell about it. If someone said it shot lasers , it then would shoot lasers. I will say, if I wasn't explicitly told that my character would be mostly masculine in presentation and I was a trans woman, I would be annoyed. It does , on the surface level, feel akin to the "Man in a Dress" transmisogynistic stereotype, not because of the Devs, but because I can already smell the transphobic gamers playing it up.
OP could have, at least, tried to see from her POV, since our community is open for attack left-and-right.

They can't be intellectually honest. They simply don't care and don't want trans issues being talked about. They want to be reductive and think sensitive Trans people seeing that it'll be used as a man in a dress attack is the real problem.
The only reason I found out about the skins was people in the end game saying "you're wearing the wrong skin" while playing the unknown with a Trans flag on.
Like it's such a hand wave to the actual issue that unfortunately a body snatching monster with multiple gendered outfits will cause the trans community to catch strays.
Yeah fine, already used to that it is what it is and I would have had no I'll will to BHVR for it because Transphobes will be Transphobes, but having the company not realise the optics and have a trans woman be the VA and thus paint that target on her is just irresponsible.

The people I've seen doing this on the DBD subreddit were mostly goofing around and making jokes about "femboy killer". They weren't being transphobic

i definitely didn't take it as some kind of mockery. the only issue i hold is that i know transphobic people are going to use that stuff to harass trans people like when bubba/cannibal could wear claudette's face and racists used that to target black people in game. but thats not really something anyone has control over, people will always be assholes and by no means should bhvr be held accountable for something they did not intend.

I love the Unknown (Creepy design and super cool animations) and this drama just upsets me, with both sides (the false claiming transphobia group and the genuinely disgusting set of transphobes) spreading tons of false narrative (including Keemstar), I'm glad the VA was able to quell the drama down and stoop it down but still this worries me that we might not get more skins like this cause of these kinds of dramas
Well this is what happens when you tell insane people that the voices they're hearing in their heads are real... then it becomes their reality and you have to face the consequences of being so afraid of offending people for their own good.

Ya know, I'm a horror fan, and never actually liked Dead by Daylight (Not a PVP fan). The honest fact that people are outraged by this, and making something of nothing is horrifying. This is a Trans Voice Actor, who has a good voice acting voice, that has been hired to work on a monster based on edge of your seat body horror, and honestly should have, in some sense, EXPECTED this to happen.
This isn't transphobia, this is resourcefulness, if they've just gone on to make a model off a voice. If people spent more time watching movies instead of larping professional victims on a social platform, they would understand what a mimic is. This is far from spiteful, or intentionally antagonistic. Its if Uncanny was a monster.
Transphobia would be calling Trans people Mimics, for "Trying to be something they aren't" -but that wasn't said by the devs was it? Its time to stop.

Very simply, if I were one of the game devs, I would remove the voice acting, hire someone else to do it, and never hire the original voice actor again.
This kind of thing will just make it more difficult for trans voice actors to get hired....
