      The director said that was the final irony of the film.
      Thay for a kid of his upbringing, education, and job prospects, it would take approximately 540 years to earn the money to purchase that house.

      Exactly. The housing market in Korea is a big scam. Most of my Korean friends' dream is to have a house. Of course it's everybody's dream. But in Korea, it is ridiculously expensive you'd have to die and live again to be able to buy small house. Just having one is a luxury.

    The actor who played Mr. Park, the father of wealthy family has suicided recently.
    He was accused for consuming weed(it is still illegal in Korea). Medical exam shown all negative, but police contuined the investigation anyway claiming that there is still a possibility that he took drugs in the past if he waited until the drugs get out from his system. Even the news talked about him for months based on the accusations and rumors despite there was no physical evidence.
    The actor confessed that he consumed weed without knowing it and he was blackmailed because of it with proofs, but the police was so obsessed on making him into a criminal so they ignored any evidence about blackmail and kept accusing him as a criminal, based on the "possibility" of him being a worse criminal.
    People thought something is sketchy because the police and news were making too much fuss about him. Yes weed is illegal in Korea but there was no point of accusing him and broadcasting news about him for months. But now he is gone and both police and media is saying "not's our fault. We don't know anything" 😒

      As a Korean, providing commentary based on rumors and speculation, it is widely believed that the recent involvement of a high-profile actor in a significant drug case has been mobilized by the prosecution and police in an attempt to divert public attention from the scandals surrounding the current administration. This dominant grassroots speculation suggests that he has been designated as a sacrificial lamb, as the drug case carries relatively greater impact and repercussions. Of course, his death was likely an unexpected deviation from the scenario they had envisioned.

    I loved when the reveal happened and you said their parasites too… but are they? Look at the rich family, four family members and each of them have their own personal hired help. Yet they don’t pay them enough for them to live outside of poverty.
    Rich people have built their fortunes off the backs of poor peoples labor. They get richer, and the poor, stay poor, but society tells us the poor parasites…
    And the father didn’t kill the dad because he was mad. He thought he smelled. He killed the dad because the dad‘s part of the system that forever keeps his family in poverty.
    It’s insane that we’ve all been brainwashed to think that poor people are the parasites 😞

    • @brosnshows
      @brosnshows  7 месяцев назад +1

      They definitely are.. 100% the poor family are parasites.. but you’re also totally right that the rich family are too. They wouldn’t be able to survive without the labor of others

    • @AREA-jp8vb
      @AREA-jp8vb 7 месяцев назад

      @@brosnshows if the poor people are parasites, they’re only parasites because they’ve been forced to do so to live because of the rich keeping them down.
      The rich have made them parasites And therefore it all falls onto their back.

    • @brosnshows
      @brosnshows  7 месяцев назад

      How is it the rich families fault that the poor people are parasites? That logic means that nobody without money can ever become successful. Which just isn’t true. This line of thinking is strange to me. You’re basically saying if you’re born poor you’re just doomed to stay that way forever. You want to make Mr. Park a villain, because you seem to hate people with money. But just because the poor people have no money does not mean they’re good people. Just like the Parks having money doesn’t make them bad people.

    • @brosnshows
      @brosnshows  7 месяцев назад

      Also the poor family not only screwed over the other poor people (the maid and the driver) but they also KILLED the maid. And then another poor person (maids creepy husband) KILLED the daughter who is also poor.. seems like you automatically jump to defend anyone who is poor and vilify anyone who has money. Very strange and very biased opinion. Makes little to no sense.

    • @AREA-jp8vb
      @AREA-jp8vb 7 месяцев назад +6

      @@brosnshows "You’re basically saying if you’re born poor you’re just doomed to stay that way forever." This is exactly what this movie is saying. The song at the end talks about how he would have to work 564 years to be able to afford to buy that house. Because the uber rich who own companies dont pay there workers a livable wage, No matter how hard they work they can never get their head above water.
      You saying I seem to hate people with money just shows you missed the point the director and writer was trying to get across. And I never said poor people were good people. I said they are forced to do things they would never do to survive in life (like dress up and cosplay as an indian) and take shit from employers who look down on them and dont pay them a livable wage that force them into a breaking point.
      and I never said the Park Family were bad people so im not sure where you got that from. The entire movie is about the class system and how we have shifted so the divide between classes is so big now and how its almost impossible for people to climb out.

    Watched the reaction earlier during the premiere and found myself cackling at your intro, when you said smthg abt wanting to find out if it's deserving of the Oscar. (Like what, are you gonna take back the trophy?) 😂😂😂 but guys, i can totally relate. When a show has won awards and received so much hype, you just gotta know for yourelf if it really is THAT gooood.
    Yes, intense was the exact word I used to describe this show. I rmbr reading up reviews and analyses after watching the movie. There were tons - dissecting the cinematography, the social commentary, etc.
    If you want to watch a love story, I'd recommend Crash Landing on You. This was a drama that received a lot of hype and for that reason, I didnt want to jump on the bandwagon and watch it while it was airing. I only succumbed more than 2 years later 😂😂😂 and here I am recommending it to you.
    I just recently finished A Killer Paradox. The actor (Choi Woo Shik) playing the son here plays the lead in that crime drama/thriller. 8 episodes only. I watched it over 2 days. Quite a task for someone who usually watches 2 episodes at most
    Also, looking forward to the Midnight Runners reaction. I've watched it like 3 times. Also because I'm a fan of the 2 leads, Park Seo Joon & Kang Haneul.

He also in Train to Busan, and The Witch, he won best supporting actor, just shows how good acting he have. DECIBEL, Lee Jung Suk, his the supporting actor in this movie is also one of the best actors now in Korea. Thanks for reacting. Keep it going. 😊
