I've been loving mine...after installing a new rotary encoder, 3D printed tuning knob, battery monitoring mod and custom software changes. I would say get the ATS-20+ over the ATS-20 as it has some small improvements, like better rotary encoder.

I have receive the ATS-20+. I can tell you that this simple receiver is performing much, much better than my Tecsun PL990. Okay, it doesn't have memories, but the receptions in SSB are more intelligable, not tiresome to listen to SSB compared to the PL990X. Connected to my home-made loop-antenna it is fun to listen to.

Thanks for the comparison. too, as i was curious but could never afford one.

I have a rsp1 Chinese clone and a Lowe HF150/SP150/PR150 with hard and software.
    I bought this around 1996/7
The second hf150 two years ago.
    The rsp1 last year.
And i tested dvbt/ sdr sticks.
    Really cheap €15 (incl swl)
Best buy ? The Lowe HF-150.
fL 1500,- incl antenna in 1996/7 (Netherlands) only for the receiver.
I was a schoolboy and worked a hole year to buy this receiver.
    Now they cost €175-200..
The sp150 and pr150 are rare in the Netherlands.

While these SDR radios seem to improve each year, quality control tends to be stuck in the "Hit or Miss" category. Pricing is attractive, but if you're faced with having to send one back to China for a warranty repair/replacement it's often cheaper to throw it in the junk box and buy another, as well, even at a budget price I'd hate to buy one and find small scratches on the faceplate, like the one they sent you (if those were really scratches) BUT yeah... the price sure is attractive for all of the features it offers. After perusing their website from the web link you supplied I found the same model number (Si4732), but different "brand" for even less. I've been curious to see one in action and now I have. Thanks for the 'test drive' Fred, 73 😉

On a 3 foot antenna you should be able to get some of the broadcast band. Depends on the time of day but normally something is on around 7-13 MHz on AM mode. Best way to receive SW is to run a simple long single core wire out of a window prob about 20 meters +. If you still not receiving then the unit may have a fault.

Hello, Good evening! I'm from India- a SWL and DXing. At present I do not have a HAM license. I am preparing myself for the examination and license. My question is- can I purchase this receiver for my SWL, DXing as well as for HAM? How much it will help for my HAM Radio examination for a license? And finally, what is the price? 73 🙏🥀

I am sure this is an amazing radio, but I would not have it. Even for the cheap price. Why? 0.5 tuning rate as the slowest rate is inadequate, it should tune in 10 hertz increments. The screen is so small I can't see it. WHEN is some company going to produce a BIG base-station sized receiver with large displays? I don't care if the big box is mostly empty... I need big displays. The controls should also be better. So, as nice as the radio is, I'll pass.
