    Awesome! This is exactly what I want as a new rider as well. I want to feel confident before getting something with more power. Going for the course in a month with zero experience. I’m nervous and excited! Originally was looking at an Iron 883 but I went to a local dealership and sat on this Rebel and I knew this was the one. It just felt right!

    hey there! i have my 2020 rebel blue matt for about 1 month now, and this is my opinion.
    The seat is the worst i have ever tried. need to upgrade that immediately . i made 100km yesterday and my butt is square now.
    The engine is amazing. sounds powerfull, and it is! i love every second of its power.
    It looks amazing once you customize it. one of the best looking bike on market at this price.
    It is a HONDA. will stay with you forever unless u dont want to.
    it feels a bit small at first, but once you accept the fact that is made for smaller people you will love it.it fits amazingly perfect for me. i am 5.7" or 169cm.
    if i had to rate this bike it would be a 9.5/10 for me, not a 10 because of the nasty seat. but,,,i have already order a Mustang tripper seat. so problem solved. everybody should buy this bike. it will be a legend of honda.

    I decided to go with the rebel over the iron 883 for a few reasons. 1 it’s a Honda, bullet proof motors. 2 the 883’s tend to vibrate a lot more than I’d like. Both are good bikes though

    I found your video because I was looking for engine guards and your video came across my search. I just picked up a 2020 Honda rebel and it’s exactly like yours except the seat is it in the diamond pattern and in the color brown and it came with the brown passenger seat. I like the way the engine guards look and at first I thought that they might be kind of big and gaudy but they actually look good. I am a new RUclipsr as well and I’m planning on taking the bike out and recording some videos. I’ve only had the bike for less than a week.

    Looks awesome in silver. I want one. The blue denim is cool too. Honda nailed this design. I'd really like to know if your custom seat is more padded than the original. The stock seat comfort seems to be an issue.

    • @DrEVEL11
      @DrEVEL11  4 года назад +2

      Hi Kelowna Rider, this perhaps is the only gripe I have about this motorcycle. I have now been on the bike for 200 miles and the answer on comfort is that if you ride for more than 30 minutes- your bottom does begin to hurt. I changed back to the original seat and compared them both and they are the same. The only difference is that patterned finish. I'm looking to purchase this item for longer trips: www.amazon.com/Haerniubi-Motorcycle-Cushion-Fillable-Pressure/dp/B07Z7FMTS1/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?dchild=1&keywords=motorcycle+seat+cushion&qid=1592501669&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUE5REJFTjVBVE1BVkImZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA1NDk1ODkxVUY5VEI3V01DT1VPJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTAxNzk1NTkzRklFSjY4NzFHRlBKJndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

    hey there! nice colour ! i will get mine in 3 weeks! i chosed blue 2020 and get accesories for about 600 euros. my rebel will look soo unique. so you mean there is no reason to spend 100 $ more for the new seat , because is no difference between stock and that one, ok thank you for telling us that, maybe one day ill get one mustang seat but right now is about 400 $ which i think is too expensive. anyway i dont ride more than 60 milles ever so, i dont think ill have any problem. take care and enjoy the ride

    Hey Vela!! Gratulations on a new Honda Rebel...Want to ask you,whats the cost of taking the MC license in US? I'm a MC new beginner and learning with a friend' who'd had the MC license for 5 years,with yellow west,and comutications between i can drive whole country of Norway..My budget for MC license here,hiring bike,hours of training,the teoritest is about 2065 dollars...I bought a Honda Shadow 750 ACE 1999 model and absolutely love the bike..have comming over the "exitment" drive,now,(that fear of loosing,make wrong decision,speed) done all the hillstarts,downstarts,slowdriving,gearshifthandling with the trhotlle and more...did actually had a fall over with the bike,when i tried to turn on a downhillslope,in slowmotion..only the windshields cladding around was out..just pinched it on place again..so my fear of loosing my bike was "gone"..lucky!!! The rebel is one of my dreambikes to have,and a Royal endfield classic 500...

    • @DrEVEL11
      @DrEVEL11  4 года назад +2

      Hi Thor, the cost of the license in California is not expensive at all. The application is only $35 US dollars. The Department of Motor Vehicles here in California gives applicants the option of submitting a safety riders course certificate in lieu of the driving test. As a new rider I took this option and the safety course was $350 US dollars. I didn’t mind this investment as it prepares riders for riding safely. In total I spent the $385 for my license. I hope this helps.

      @@DrEVEL11 Thanks Ernesto..:) Its a enormous difference in price from A2 to A1 drivers..i'll taken the A1 license..its horsepower related from 49 to over 100 horsepower..A2 license from 9 to 48 horsepower,nearly a 1000 dollar difference...Geee' i should have lived i california now :) Even sweden is over 1000 dollar cheaper for taking the Mc license..I hope the system here in Norway changes for driverlicenses cost's,allready the car license is over 2025 dollars,that should be takin in coinsideration,in a ordinary MC course as you have in the US,the traffic rules we know...(here you must trhu a 50 questions of traficrelated questions and have less than 7 wrong..)just that costs 750 NK or more..if you fail,a new one...so you see it is costly...

    I am about to get the same bike in the next 2 weeks, I am also interested in the different seat and headlamp cowl. I'm so excited. How well are you handling the hills in SF ( I live near Folsom,CA) . I'm not sure I'm going for the engine guards to be honest. But maybe ;)

    • @DrEVEL11
      @DrEVEL11  4 года назад +1

      Hi Michael, that's great congratulations- I don't live in the city nor have driven the bike on the hills of SF. However, when I have come to the hills here locally, I have had to depend on the back break- in general I apply the front and back break evenly at all stops but on a hill upward or downward, I relly on the back brake to allow me to get ready to manage the throttle. It does take practice though and it can be challenging (I'm no expert yet). This is another reason the rebel is great for a beginner- it is not too heavy and one can flat foot it. Hope this helps.

    Congrats on your 500. How do you like it nearly a year later? I have a 2009 Rebel 250 that I put close to 6K miles on and I really love the Rebel 500. I went to see the Rebel 1100 in person, but found it to be a bit taller/wider than the 300/500, but could still flat foot it, but jeez the stock seat is not nice on the 1100. I'm disappointed that blue is not an option on the 2021 500, but it is on the 2021 300. I might look around to see if I can get a left over 2020 with the matte blue jeans color, and add the brown accessory rider (and passenger) seats to it.

    Did you take your M1 written test before they closed all the DMVs due to the pandemic or did you recently take it online?

    • @DrEVEL11
      @DrEVEL11  4 года назад

      Hi Christian, thank you for your question. This is what I did:
      1. Took the safety course through Pacific Motorcycle Training. (Your certificate of passing waives the DMV driving test). The course included 2-4 hour online sessions and 2-6 hour driving class on a loaner bike.
      2. I completed a new license application on the DMV website and once complete you get a confirmation number.
      3. This is what may be different depending where you live. My local DMV opened for existing appointments on May 8. On June 3, I just stoped by, my course certificate in hand and that confirmation code and they allowed me to take the written test. I passed that, passed a vision test, took a picture and got the M1. A week later I received my new license in the mail.
      So check with your local DMV. They may allow you to take the written test. But complete the application online. Hope this helps.

    First things that has to be REMOVED is the Rebel sticker on the back.

      Care to elaborate? Is that because owning a rebel is embarrassing for you or you just don't like decels?
      You also said first "things" that has to be removed, what else needs to be?

      Pryometrix just all the decals, ands it’s my personality preference.

      @@amiemartin109 So all decels? What if it's a different brand bike would you still feel inclined to remove them? The way you said your comment sounded like you were telling the guy in the video to remove his lol.
      Same here the bike looks gorgeous, I just gotta keep saving those pennies haha.

    Keep your stock exhaust. The world is noisy enough. And, you'll want to protect your hearing. As for "being heard", IMHO noisy bikes are silly!

    a cruiser never is a good beginner bike. why do people say such a thing?

    • @TheAlibabatree
      @TheAlibabatree 2 года назад

      The Rebel has always been the ultimate “learners” or beginner bike, since 1985.
      The newer 500 model is definitely more powerful, but still retains the same forgiveness as the old models.

    • @nateriver5114
      @nateriver5114 2 года назад

      @@TheAlibabatree disagree. the cb500f for example is much better for beginners, as any mid sized naked bike is. it's lighter, offers better control and is more forgiving.

      Costly? This is one of the cheapest cruisers around. Bikes go well over 15k $
