My 1985 Nighthawk will only start with choke fully on ( I had carbs rebuit a year ago) and can cut back to half on after a few minutes. Any clue what I can do. Rides ok but need to get where choke is not at all. Only ride aroud block so may or may not be warmed up enough.
I have a question, that hopefully someone see's and and help out. First I've a 84 Nighthawk since 1989. Changed the oil 20x's on that bike with 0 issue's. Now, I found a blue 85 Nighthawk that was in great shape with only 17,000 miles. I've already ridden it once, so I know it had no issues. I changed the oil and the oil filter leaks like it's not even on. I don't know what the hell I'm missing. I changed all the O-Rings/Gaskets. Put the Spring in first, then behind, same result. Everything fits tight. It screws in easy and looks sealed tight, yet oil streams out of the seal to pump or middle section. I even switched the covers off my other bike, same result. Really bizarre! Any idea's would be hugely appreciated. John M
+firstname lastname it is a Vetter Nightstalker fairing I have two of them one has the mount for nighthawk, the other has mount for CB750C. They are big for shipping if you are in UT might be easy to get to you if not you are looking at probably 40-50$ to ship. Let me know.
Vetter Nightstalker is the name of the fairing. They are vintage period correct add ons. You can sometimes find them on eBay or I have two I might part with.
Andrew Acosta I think it is just over 3 quarts, but it has been a while you might want to check the forums or a manual. good luck with it, the Nighthawk is a great bike and a very quick 650!

What do you do with the smaller rubber ring? I thought it goes on the front of the filter around that bolt but that actually leads to problems

@@miguelinaveronicaortegadej1738pull the long bolt out of the filter housing. It has one small o ring that gets replaced. You can't miss it.
