@@KetogenicWoman What do you think of cooking it in a Crock Pot? I've been cooking mine on the low setting (there is Low or High only) for many hours. A few days ago I cooked a two pound organic 100% grassfed chuck roast...I just plopped it in the slow cooker (not pre-heated), not dried, salted, or seared, and without any water (oops!?), and cooked on low for 6 hours, then it was on Warm for two hours, before I ate it. I think I over cooked it! But it was still good! This was the first time that I just cooked the roast by itself...usually I add a bunch of vegetables with it. What do you think is the difference if you don't sear the roast first? If you don't dry it? If you don't salt it? I knew about these things...but it's just faster, and saves heating and washing an extra pan! Also, I was hoping for more instruction on how to know when it is done...you skipped over that part! And you didn't show the roast opened up at the end?! Thanks!
I just made my Chuck roast, salted browned on all sides in butter, then added a tablespoon bacon fat. Deglazed with a little tenderizing ACV, rich brown sauce and continued on low for about 4 hours nicely tender. The pot makes browning easy holding the meat in place on its side. Yummy
In one Dr. Ken Berry videos, he said he should have made it BBBES because seafood can be included in BBBE. I think this video was made before he made that announcement.

Congrats on your NSV! It takes a lot to wear a bathing suit if you haven't worn one when you were heavier. Just being able to wear it and go swimming in the hot weather will be so nice! Your chuck roast looks delish! I am finishing up a 3 lb. pot roast that I cooked the other day. I am glad to be finished with it though. That is my problem with cooking for myself only, I eat a lot of leftovers and sometimes it gets monotonous. And happy traveling, hope you have an enjoyable trip.
Yes, like Wendy said in her comment, eat some of it but you can also freeze some! Oh and wearing a bathing suit was actually very freeing! I bought one that had some cool swim shorts like the ones that Kim Kardashian sells and now I can go swimming without worry about my jiggly thighs!
I also make mine in the Instant Pot for about 90 min. and have had great luck with that as well. I just found your channel and I'm enjoying it so much that I am now a subscriber~Congratulations on your weight loss, that is fantastic and you NSV is a big one - so happy for you.
I am a sigle seior woman, cooking this blade pot roast, I wonder how you are using the cooked shredded beef? in the wraps? heated in gravy? and if one gets to the end, soup. looking for other ideas as I get meat fatigue from eating the same things for a few days
I like NSV’s! Hadn’t heard that before. Yeah, the scale hasn’t moved much for me, but I was trying on pants yesterday and dropped a pant size! A NSV! 😀🎉
Ha!!! THAT is what I planned for dinner tonight!!! In my Instant Pot where I also saute my meat first! The only thing I don't like about sauteing in my Instant Pot is I get spit in the face often!! That hurts!!!!! My chuck roasts are never tied like yours is, it's a flat piece of meat. I'll have to look at the tied beef roasts and see what they call them. They always have 2 roasts tied together in one package. Either roast takes similar, we get a little more meat with the tied double roasts than the single flat roast, but they are ALWAYS sooooo TENDER!!!! Before the Instant Pot, I was still able to make the most tender roast! The secret? WATER!!!!! My mother taught me that trick longgggg ago!!! And a bay leaf!!! Perfection!!!! Yummmmm!!!!! Oh! And I've neve sauted my meats before until the Instant Pot! I really cannot taste a difference except maybe for a few places where the meat is a little glazed/tougher? If that's a good way to describe it? I do saute them to hold the juices in now, and it's always the Instant Pot now!!!! No more oven roasts OR heating the house up unless it's winter!!! Lol!!! LOVE my Instant Pot!!!!!! So easy to clean also! I SAVE the juices leftover in the Instant Pot and use 'that' as my water for the next roast!!! Sooooo yummy that way!!!!! I can also use those juices for liquids to make other meat dishes as well!!! Yummmmm!!!!!
So glad I'm in good company! I had decided, because I've been on a bender lately, to do bbbe for the month of July as well. I need to get a handle on my sweet tooth, which has been a beast, and snacks, also a beastly habit. I'm hoping to reduce my blood sugar averages back down to normal levels. I've come too far to allow that to happen. Good luck to us all.

I love your videos. Recently had a pot roast cooked at a restaurant. They had put liquid smoke and who knows what other flavorings on the meat. Totally ruined it. The week before they must have had a different cook because the meet was delicious. Sunday pot roast.
Thanks for the video Anita. Enjoy you road trip. Winter her in NZ so am hoping to head to the South Island when the weather warms up. I am going through what you went through a couple of months ago. House sold and moving on the 9th July. It’s a massive undertaking on my own. All the best. 🤗🇳🇿
Chuck roast used to be one of THE most common, plentiful, & inexpensive cuts of beef we could buy~ it's so annoying that we can't hardly find them anymore, My goodness I remember complaining when it crept up over $1.50 lb~ & it wasn't so long ago! I stopped buying when it hit $3 a pound in WA State, about 5 yrs ago. Same thing happened w/"stew meat"- errgggh.
Big fan of the chuck roast. I sear it 5 mins top and bottom in the Instant Pot, add some seasoning, liquid and cook it in there for around 50 mins. Always seems to come out just right.
I found out when I let the egg white wraps dry on air for a day and a half and then deep fry them in ghee I have crisp bread. I also make fries and crackers deep frying Halloumi cheese in ghee.
wow that bacon looks delicious - haven't noticed it at the PC stores but then again probably didn't look ... thick cut bacon is almost unaffordable now yikes but I'll keep my eyes open next time! my go to meal prep for meat right now has been pressure canning and the toughest beef cuts turn out to be melt in your mouth delicious. Raw packed with nothing but some seasoning and it makes its own juice which also reduces to a lovely sauce! shelf stable ready to eat meat is a game changer! Thanks for all your awesome content! Hope you have a fantastic holiday! Have FUN!
Pressure canning is on my list of things to learn! I watched my cousin pressure can some chicken once and I thought it was genius! I would love to do some beef. Thanks so much for watching!
Wonderful, Anita! I learned something brand new today! You can make mayo with schmalz? I just threw out about a pint's worth in the municipal compost a few days ago! I did keep some in the freezer, so I will be able to try the mayo. I also have plenty of duck fat, which I never throw out. I could give that a try also. Too bad, I don't have access to duck eggs, which would make it even better, probably.
@@KetogenicWoman I spoke about this with a Jewish friend and I learned that in Yiddish, schmaltz is any type of dripping, not just chicken fat as was my impression. I have since made mayo with duck fat, the process did not go as well as hoped, but once refrigerated, it became harder and the texture is just lovely right out of the fridge and the taste is also quite good. I am French Canadian, but I know that there are regions in France where duck fat is a staple, used instead of butter. I learned that in books, I never went to France myself.
@@johanne526 Yes! I recently made a pate like dip out of pork roast drippings recommended by a friend from Quebec, it was very good! I'd like to try duck fat mayo too!
Hi, Sue from Australia 🇦🇺, love ur videos, was going to start the BBBE today but got diagnosed yesterday with haemochromatosis (iron overload) so now not sure what to do, have been doing Ketovore
One thing you can do to is to donate blood! I was told a few years ago (this was before going ketovore) to stop giving blood because my iron was too low, it was in the anemic stage so I stopped. The other day I was reading in one of the carnivore groups that many people who do carnivore build up iron and the best way to deal with that is to donate blood! Now I am going to go donate next time there is a popup blood donor clinic stopping near me and see where I'm at! (They test your blood before letting you donate and that is how I found out my iron was so low).
Ok, thanks so much, I'm going to put off the BBBE for now until I get my iron down but still continue to watch ur videos & make notes until I'm ready, good luck to u 😉
With over 100 pounds to lose (125 so far, another 40ish to go) , trust me I have had many plateaus and some were very long. You can sometimes jump start things with things like the egg fast or strict carnivore but sometimes I just let my body do it's catching up and just keep doing what I am doing. I have accepted ketovore as my new lifestyle and I enjoy the food so I feel at peace with plateaus.
@@KetogenicWoman I’ve lost 21 lbs doing ketovore & carnivore with the last 8 lbs to my goal weight, stalled for about 2 mos. Did your egg fast recipes for 3 days & lost 2.5 lbs. last 5 ish lbs to go. Do you strain your bacon grease? Yours looks cleaner than mine. So possibly include in a video, if you haven't do so already, how you prep your bacon grease.
Mine is definitely not perfect and I don't do any straining but the grease can that I use has a lid with little tiny holes and that gets out the bigger chunks and pieces. So I guess a bit of straining happens there!
I finally became adventurous… I made HOME MADE SUMMER SAUSAGE, oh, so easy! No fillers, no gluten, no powdered milk, no soya, no HFCS, no sugars, just fresh ground beef, spices, liquid smoke and the Morton’s Quick Cure! Then BAKE! Wonderful! Economical… prepare it when ground beef is on sale!! Delicious! No more expensive deli counters!
@@KetogenicWoman Anita, my long answer keeps getting deleted. Is there an email address where I can write to you directly!? Please and thank you! Gladys🇨🇦
@@KetogenicWoman Begin by looking up Morton’s salt Pepperoni recipe. Then look at Summer Sausage from Pitchfork foodie, her explanation is so logical and simple. If a recipe calls for water do not add any. Water is to keep sausages moist whilst smoking in an outdoor smoker. You are going to bake in an oven. Also, no need for casings! No stuffing sausages. Then you go on to make jerky from ground beef! This is the 6th time I reply, I hope the answer is not deleted again! Gladys, Toronto🇨🇦

Anita, is this Cornivore diet like the old Atkins diet, and if so, does it ever cause any joint or organ, or acid reflux problems, because this is what we all heard about post Atkins fad?
Atkins had 2 cups vegetables a day in that old plan. Carnivore is really just animal meat and fat so no not the same at all. This actually relieves most people of the issues you mentioned. Be sure to check out Dr. Ken Berry channel, Dr. Cyves, Dr. Chaffee.
Love your videos. I want to ask your opinion on something. I like to make Maria Emmerichs easiest psmf bread. I also add 2 scoops of beef gelatin to it. Would you consider this carnivore? (just egg white protein & gelatin) I am keto for 5yrs now but lately have carb creep and Im up a few lbs. Im on day 4 of staying carnivore and Id like to have bacon and eggs on a roll. Ty for your time.
Well, maybe ask Dr. Berry? For me if I feel like having some sausage I probably would because I'm not great at rules. I think his guidelines are there to keep things simple to ensure the highest rate of success.
This question is about egg white bread. Please I’m trying but can’t find the answer on YT. I tried to make a bread with whipped real actual egg whites. Added the little ingredients after beating the heck out of my real whites. Beat it so thick and fluffy. Baked it well. Set it on the counter when done. It was so unbread like. Like the middle was down but spongy like an overdone meringue: is there a big difference in using real egg whites as compared to egg white powder. The one I made didn not loook like the good texture in the video or other videos and they were Al using the powder. What’s the difference if you whip it so we’ll for that one thickness to bake??? Please help.
I'm a little unclear, it sounds like you used only eggwhites and no eggwhite powder? If so then what you made was actually merengue! You have to use BOTH the egg whites (either from fresh eggs or from a carton) AND the powder. The egg white powder acts like a flour to give your loaf of bread some structure. I hope this helps! TIps for this bread are in here: ketogenicwoman.com/egg-white-bread/
I like crispy bacon, too. Years ago I used to eat it "chewy" but then I learned about the dangers if eating undercooked pork. 😳 I cook mine in the microwave with paper towels most times, now, because it cooks so much faster, but I lose the fat.
I have read there have not been any breakouts of any diseases from eating undercooked pork in almost the last 20 years now, and the FDA even LOWERED the recommended cooking temp DOWN to 145 degrees now!!! Hope that helps you out!!! Google it if you want to read it for yourself! Enjoy!!!
I'm no expert in this whole food classification but I think because it's a fat? When I think of the other 'dairy' I think of milk, cream, cheese etc that do have some fat but they also have carbs and protein whereas butter has zero carbs and zero protein and all fat so in that context it's different than dairy. If you didn't want butter (because some people DO consider it a dairy) then have ghee instead.
Do you mean for BBBE? BBBE is Beef Bacon Butter and Eggs and I know what Dr. Berry would say! (Hint, starts with N and ends with O). But ultimately YOU get to decide what you do!
Every body loves 🥓bacon! I have seen a new type of bacon…. $10.00/pound Where the rashes of bacon equal FOUR slices per pound! 🥓🥓🥓🥓Very thick. Ok,🥤 decaf 🧊iced coffee and🥤 iced 🧊tea…. I do not worry about it!😉😇
Yes, but I find it hard to stay on longer than a couple weeks. I need the variety of being able to have chicken, fish and pork if I want it. But I do think it is a fantastic way to reset if you've gone astray and need to get back into ketosis! It also does a great job of killing cravings.
I also took the Carnivore 30 Day Challenge that Dr. Barry has posted and after 30 days I was down 16 pounds. I then tried to transition to the Ketogenic Diet but all it did was stall my weight loss. It has been close to 2 weeks and the scale just won't move. I also use some intermittent fasting and still nothing. 😢
Dr Ken Berry has some videos on stalls. In one of them he says you aren't in a real stall until you've gone at least a month without losing any weight. You may want to search for those videos.
Congrats on the 16 pounds! I think what happens with that much weight loss in a month is that your body needs to catch up! Think of it as a taking a break , if you stay the course the losses will continue!
I think it was Dr Berry who said that if one has stalled on a weight shedding (my word because i know that the brain always goes looking for those things/pounds we have "lost") journey it could be because your body is doing some level of healing and healing takes priority over shedding pounds. I basically do ketovore and intermittent fasting. No weight had been shed in ages and even my waist had increased in inches ... until today when mywaist was 2.5" smaller than last week, my weight was 4 lbs lower, and my morning blood glucose was 4.6 - yippy! Yours in Gratitude Anita
If you are strict carnivore then no, if you are keto then yes. I am not into the dogma and I get hate messages all the time because I'm not 'carnivore enough' for some people. But I feel that some people need pure strict carnivore to heal whatever health issues they are trying to heal and some people don't, so only you know what you are and what you can safely eat.
Thanks for the shout out! 🤩 Love the BBBE prep. Enjoy! 🥩🧈🥓🍳

Thanks!
I needed this today. I’ve never done this challenge and now I have the motivation!
Go for it! A lot of people are doing it this month!
Yes, this is an older video and I'm glad he made that statement! Well I was already doing it anyways, but maybe now others will see the light too!
I forgot to mention I love the looks of your new kitchen. It is so bright and cheery. I am envious
Thank you so much!
You are so inspiring. I got a Ninja indoor grill with a probe as I saw how much you enjoy it. Wish me luck making your delicious recipes!
I hope you love it! It toook me awhile to get used to it only because I didn't realize at first how versatile it was! It's a daily use item now!
Just starting Carnivore. Very encouraging. Thanks.

Congratulations Anita on the NSV! That is wonderful!!! Have a great vacation. I'm on vacation this week. I just got home so will be catching up on videos!
It's my first vacation in years, enjoying it so much so far!
I maybe eat 2 meals from cooking one dish, then I freeze the restin single portions. Helps a lot :-))
Love the crepes Anita, they seemed very delicious. With meet en cooked eggs 😋
Hope you're having a wonderful, safe journey.
Just a few more days until I leave, I'm so excited!
I also make mine in the Instant Pot for about 90 min. and have had great luck with that as well. I just found your channel and I'm enjoying it so much that I am now a subscriber~Congratulations on your weight loss, that is fantastic and you NSV is a big one - so happy for you.

Thank you so much for the videos. You look so different, thinner and gorgeous. You are helping so many.

It is so special to come visit with you and learn about great recipes and cooking techniques
Thank you Anita

I just saw this July challenge on the 5th of July, but I’m definitely on board‼️. Thank you for doing these challenges ❤️
You got this! Better today than never!
I love your videos! I’m on BBBE right now. I’m off to buy a pot roast right now.😊
Hope you enjoy!
A NSV! 😀🎉
Thanks for sharing!!
The Instant Pot is truly a wonderful machine! Thanks for all your tips!
Those are my downfall as well, even though my snacks are keto I can definitely overdo them!
I can so relate. I have been trying for the past couple of months to get back on track. So far no luck, but I refuse to give up. I am my own worst enemy. However, I will prevail 🙏
@@pennysmith9470 You will! And pretty much much anyone who has lost a lot of weight have been where you are at. The only failure is in not trying because eventually something will click and you will be right back on again. Just like real life weight loss is a a life journey full of ups and downs.

Thank you, so excited about this!
by the way, here in the south (AL and GA) we've always kept our bacon grease can by the stove year round. if i get a lot ahead of what i need in my can, I'll put in a jar and in fridge or freezer.❤

Thank you this is helpful… I’m not a very confident or creative cook so videos like this are helpful.
Glad it was helpful!
I'm up for the challenge. And now I want to shop for a chuck roast. 😄
Go get one, they are so good and satisfying!
I love your videos. Recently had a pot roast cooked at a restaurant. They had put liquid smoke and who knows what other flavorings on the meat. Totally ruined it. The week before they must have had a different cook because the meet was delicious. Sunday pot roast.
More and more I leave restaurants so disappointed!
Thanks for the video Anita. Enjoy you road trip. Winter her in NZ so am hoping to head to the South Island when the weather warms up. I am going through what you went through a couple of months ago. House sold and moving on the 9th July. It’s a massive undertaking on my own. All the best. 🤗🇳🇿
Oh boy, take that one day at a time! Moving can be so stressful! I hope to not have to do it ever again!
I haven’t wore shorts or swimsuit in probably 25 years. Don’t see that in my future. Kudos to you!
Never say never!
I hear you, seems like all beef has gone through the roof!
Big fan of the chuck roast. I sear it 5 mins top and bottom in the Instant Pot, add some seasoning, liquid and cook it in there for around 50 mins. Always seems to come out just right.
That is an awesome way to do it as well! Thanks!

I've got a couple schmaltz videos coming out soon but sounds like you already know what to do!

How did you handle plateaus? I am currently struggling with one.
Do you have a video of the chicken mayo pls and what would be the best way to render the fat from chicken pls? Thank u so much!
Yes! Those videos are filmed and being edited right now, so they will be on this channel by mid July!
What!? Where can I learn how to make this, is there a recipe somewhere?
@@KetogenicWoman Anita, my long answer keeps getting deleted. Is there an email address where I can write to you directly!?
Please and thank you!

Cyves, Dr. Chaffee.
@@KetogenicWoman thank you!🤗
Love your videos.
I have not seen her recipe but if all it is is egg whites and beef gelatin and no sweeteners then yes it is carnivore!
Question: why is bacon ok but not sausage with no sugar on BBBE?
Well, maybe ask Dr. Berry? For me if I feel like having some sausage I probably would because I'm not great at rules. I think his guidelines are there to keep things simple to ensure the highest rate of success.
I do my bacon at 420 degrees for about 15 minutes
Yes, I normally do them higher as well!
Enjoy!!!
I love when the fat is still there but it's crispy from baking and melts in my mouth!

Can I ask why butter is no classified as dairy? I see a lot of people say no dairy yet eat butter 🤔
Of course 🫣 that makes sense 👍🏼
I believe coffee is fine , limited, with no sugar or creamer
Dr Berry allowed 2krazy ketoes to have one coffee experience per day
I gotta get me a bigger cup! 😂

Did you loose weight on bbbe?

Can you add carrots, celery and onions while cooking for flavor but not eat thwm?
If you are strict carnivore then no, if you are keto then yes. I am not into the dogma and I get hate messages all the time because I'm not 'carnivore enough' for some people. But I feel that some people need pure strict carnivore to heal whatever health issues they are trying to heal and some people don't, so only you know what you are and what you can safely eat.
