That's CADILLAC work. When I broke out in the Derrick you had to throw that pipe out there and latch them elevator's by hand on the run. I did break out on an old 50's model rig though.
Man that just blows my mind seeing that. I worked derricks back in the 60s and 70s. If you told me back then that the Derrick hand could latch pipe and never touch the elevators in the future I would have laughed in your face .
LOL I know man. I broke out on an old 50's model rig and is was work no matter what you did plus we dug EARTH pits by hand. No metal containers for drilling fluid back when I broke out. Now days you probably have to fill out a job safety analysis sheet before picking up a hammer lol.
Worked derricks in the 60's n70's ran 18000' of 4 1/2 pipe and 6 stands of 6 in collars when the bits were harden steel and not diamond coated carbide. that means 4 to 5 hours on bottom and trip it again.
U guys r both women. I ran 7 inch drill pipes and 10 inch collers and we trip every 2 inches we drilt that was in the dessert back in the 70s it was 140 degrees farinheight at nite
We only stop for BHA but…. With that said we expect one hand on the horns before you throw one in the elevators. Moving blocks and tripping is very safe if a PJSM is held and the driller, derrickman and floorhands are all on the same wave! Stopping is all good too if you feel it’s necessary but over time you will get behind the well plan and I have no doubt the company man would shit twinkies if he was watching you trip like that. Hahaha
Обычно свечу кинул в элеватор, и когда её с подсвечника срывают сверху верховой должен веревкой её поддерживать. Иначе внизу трудно будет ниппель( наружная замковая резьба в нижней части трубы) в замок вставлять ....Мы так делали.

And you're proud of yourself 🤣😂
Lol self latching elevator's. That isn't roughnecking unless you're leaning out there and grabbing them horns to latch that sh1t by hand.
@@DELTA_N9NE I can latch pipe all day long without touching the elevators.
@@DELTA_N9NE and no they're not self latching elevators either.
