I did it and it worked... you did something wrong. You have to return a sealed box, to make it just hot air the stickers with a hair dryer, take the iphone and put anything in the box to add some weight and the put the stickers back. At the apple store they will simply take the box, ask no question and give the money back.

I work at best buy and had someone try to return fake airpods maxes before. The airpods were made of a hard plastic so right away I knew they were fake. Plus serial numbers didn't match.
I did noticed the color is slightly different the real one.
The colors looked nothing alike and the apple workers fell for it 😅

Wow, the pink color is more popular than I was expecting, probably according to Doug Demuro, a car reviewer, says that it’s the “Press Color!” Anyway, of course the pink iPhone 15 Plus I have is real, and I used it to replace my 5 YEAR OLD Samsung Galaxy Note 9, which I frankly, still use even if I replaced it with an iPhone. Since it has the S-Pen, I use it as a secondary drawing device to supplement my iPad 9, and as a spare camera, for when I can’t use the 15. Well, the camera quality, even on a Non-Pro 15/15 Plus is still as big step up from that 5 year old Samsung Phone, even if it’s not the 15 Pro model, and I even heard about some RUclipsrs, TikTokers, Instagramers, or anyone on social media, even using a NON-PRO standard flagship iPhone (I say Flagship, since there’s the SE, a low-end to mid-range iPhone, and the Non-SE Models still costing $1000) to still film decent quality content that still looks like professional quality, and to be honest I could never even tell that they were using a “NON-PRO” iPhone. In DankPods’ Cheap Phone Spectacular video, he was using a Non-Pro iPhone 12 as his spare camera, and he says “You’ve Watched Videos Filmed By This And Never Even Known It” and most people watching could barely make out. But, I use my Note 9 as the spare camera for a Non-Pro iPhone, and it still takes Decent Quality 4K 60FPS video, even though it only has a 12MP rear camera, which is only 1/4 of the iPhone’s 48MP rear camera, and it’s not even the pro model! Looks like smartphone cameras have come such a long way indeed!!
