Just depends whatcha drive. My first car was an 04 Chrysler Sebring convertible so you already know we didnt give a fuck about that thing lol

eagleeye128 frustratingly the UK still mixes units like Canadians. Petrolheads in the UK wouldn’t generally use Nm. I think Germans would. Maybe Australians? I know (from MCM) that they use kW.
My first car was a 1980 Celica convertible. First time drove it 40 minutes on a New York January night to my girlfriend. Windows up, heat on, stereo blasting....arrived frozen and needed help getting the frozen top back up. Can't believe her dad let her out with me. This brought me back to that time. These guys are true enthusiasts!

@5:39 Why is the entire row of buttons moving when you push one? Looks really cheap and out of place, especially considering the cost of this car.
It’s a combination capacitive touch and a mechanical button set. BMW is using it more and more, I agree with you, it feels cheap and I don’t like it. I imagine it’s cheaper to manufacture and install one plastic piece as opposed to individual ones for each button.
Because it’s all one piece. The buttons are like a touchscreen.

As a long-time fan who knows what to expect, and doesn't generally feel the need to have things explained to me so simply, I don't find it to be an improvement, but I understand what it does for newer fans and it doesn't stop me from watching!

Lol they gave them a convertible car in the winter, they should have known better? A car is a car, owners of it are going to do the same thing, and it’s not like they were stupid and eradicate.
Im sure the Germans, who live in similarly if not colder conditions would have at least thought to have designed an interior that could get a little cold and damp :)

4:45 M5 has a completely different shifter. That one looks kinda weird and it's plastic. The shifter in the M8 is leather-wrapped and it looks much better IMO.
Also their criticism about power is just plain stupid. I mean what do they expect from around 100 horsepower more. Why would the m8 comp be way faster than the m850i. Pretty stupid if u ask me.

Someone just put a jb4 tune on an M8 comp and it did a 10.1 1/4 mile with a 0-60 at 2.55 seconds. Insane

It's in Toronto, so it's not that cold ( probably around -4°C)
When I got my first convertible (986 Boxster) 21 years ago (and still have it) it was just before Thanksgiving. My wife and I thought we were crazy those first couple of years when we went riding with the top down in the low 40s with the heater and heated seats on. But those were clear sunny days. Now I feel completely sane. Enjoyed the review, as I always do with these guys. Does anyone really have more fun doing a car review than these two? Doubt it.

Awesome! Winter driving in a Cabrio. Just that alone sells the video for me as a great one among your superb collection. Very impressed by you mastering the conditions and deliver a perfect picture and sound. No small feat with all that glare, overcast, water droplets, cold and wind noise! Also very good reasoning and balanced options about this car. No fanboy going crazy. It is basically useless but at that price range we are way beyond these kinds of considerations anyway. So looks fun yeah send it again into the next spin!

So glad you mentioned cold start. For daily driving it’s a big no no. I daily drive my F80 M3 and the cold start made me get a tune just to delete the cold start. Now I can leave my house at 5AM and not wake up my family and neighbors.

I think why it doesn't feel overly different, is the torque is still the same 750Nm as the 850i.

I think the reason why this M8 feels too similar to the M850i is because it lacks a Dual clutch transmission. yes I know the ZF8 speed is whits almost as quick as a DCT. However DCT shifts more dramatic which gives you a sensation that the car is faster. Believe me I have a Panamera and PDK just brings the car into another dimension compared to regular 4 door sedans

BMW should make the iDrive touch controller so that you could adjust volume by gesturing on it. That way you could rest your arm while adjusting volume.
