Trivandrum Rajdhani Trip - Part 3 (August 1995)

- This covers the journey from Balharshah till Tenali. The train continued its impressive run after Balharshah and reached Vijayawada 25 minutes before time. Along the way, it made an unscheduled halt at Warangal, much to my chagrin. Apart from daytime coverage of the Warangal-Tenali section, be sure to enjoy the following:
- Departure from Balharshah and Vijayawada
- The vast yard at Vijayawada and arrival at the station
- Unique-liveried train at Vijayawada
- Skips of Dornakal, Khammam and Krishna Canal
- Bunch of WAG1 locos including one with a blue-cream livery
- WAM4-hauled train on the Krishna river bridge.

Those Sodium vapour lamps in large stations was something we miss today. Also missing is that three tone announcement music.
Sigh, there is so much of the 80s and 90s I miss today.
And specially those signals
Where can I listen to that three-tone music? Announcements don't start with that tone anymore.
It is always a real experience to watch your videos as one enters a time machine and can’t get over till the entire journey is over. The hangover continues both during and after watching your videos and this is one such. I used to take Chennai Rajdhani from Nizamuddin during this time from my Delhi audits and the journey was similar. Thank you for such records of IR history which it never has and wish you and family a great Deepavali.
It is always a pleasure to hear from you and your experiences. Happy Deepavali to you and your family.
Finally i have seen how Vijayawada station looks when i was born . Thank you sir .
Always welcome!
Sir first hat's off to you for showing this video to all. Since I was born during 1970 I had the opportunity to travel by this train during my childhood days. Thanks so much
The first Indian rail fan.
I was one year old on that time
Sir, Aap to time traveller ho. Matlab aap ye old video post Karke hum sabhi ko time travel Ka aanand dilate ho. Thank for this.
Sahi Baat he
Dhanyavaad!
Good old day :)
When is the next part coming sir ?
Those good old days, no doubt! Will start working on the last part soon :-)
That blue and faint yellow is a sublime livery for a loco
As always, its a real treat to watch your videos. Takes me back in time. Thank you. :D
Thanks a lot!
Thank u somuch for this video
Wonderful
Nothing has changed even after 25years
Still we are crossing the track in the same way as those men are waiting to cross @ 22:35 to 22:50
"Vijayawada"
so true, even the mps is still 130. crazy how trains are still running at the same speed even after 30 years
I remember Vijay Mani sir from my IRFCA days in early 2000s. There were some other really wonderful members back then like Poochi Venkat, Partha Ray, Shanky the storm catcher, Jimmy Jose, Jason Anthony, srinivas prasad(AP & Godavari fan), Sridhar joshi, jitendra mulky, john Lacey, bharath moro(vandalur) etc.
Am still in touch with most of them. Shanky disappeared. John Lacey passed away, what an amazing person he was. May I know your full name?
@@ManiVijay yes I also heard about the passing away of John. His trip reports and pics were legendary. I am glad to know that you are in touch with most of them. I am also eager to reconnect with all of you again.
My name is Prakash Mohanasundaram
Very Nice to my home town Vijayawada in 1995.. It was my child hood.. Loved the video
Am very happy to hear that :-)
Excellent coverage, beautifully captured moments. Great 👌👌👍
Thanks!
Dear mani sir you are sharing golden captures. 👍👍
Thanks!
Old Is Gold Andhrapradesh History Heritage Station Vijayawada/Bezawada Excellent Video
Thanks!
Thank you in person cause you made people know how older trains and glory of Indian rilways
# OLD IS GOLD
True.
Mani bhai aap, India ke pahle rail Fan ho me aapki sari video dekhta hon
Nostalgic capture sir. Btw the livery you mentioned was a bg suburban train of 5 coaches hauled byvWDS4B loco between falaknuma and secunderabad during the mid 90s.
Thanks so much for that update. For all these years, I used to wonder what that train was. But how did the train land up at Vijayawada?
@@ManiVijay these coaches were very old but considered fit for suburban service with toilets dummied. Probably these coaches were used for similar shuttle service at bezawada .
I would love to see WDS-4/6 locos in this section.
My first longest journey was Chennai New Delhi Tamilnadu express in 1990 . Where the route was diesel bet Nagpur to Itarsi. The coach colour was in orenge with yellow strap I was in my 12th year at that time.
The orange-yellow color was present in quite a few SR trains at that time. I saw the double-headed Tamilnadu Exp. in 1989.
Thks for this video i saw vijaywada stn in 1988 and 1989 while travelling to mumbai to vishakapatnam and back and in 1988 trissur to vishakapatnam in kerala exp we have to get down at vijaywada to change t train for visag it brought back t memory of my school vacation the train use to halt there for more than 10 min. Morning breakfast use to be meduvada and idly
The dirt on the track is shocking, seeing this makes me realize how much cleaner it is today. Of course we still have a long way to go
True but some progress is being made.
Good vedio it made me remember of once old time when I went to New Delhi when I was a child thanks for this vedio
Glad you enjoyed it. When did you travel to New Delhi?
the two pista green livery kazipet wdm2 at BZA take me to childhood memories in 1996 days
Such a wonderful livery.
But why where those diesel locos there ? Which route was not electrified ?
As far as I know BZA-VSKP, BZA-Kazipet-Secunderabad, BZA-Balharshah and BZA-Guntur-Chennai/Tirupati, all the lines from Vijaywada upto Secunderabad or Guntur or Balharshah or VSKP was electrified.
Then why were those wdms there ? Which line was not electrified near Vijaywada or Kazipet or Balharshah ? Please tell me Mani sir.
Beautiful compilation Sir :D
Thanks a lot :-)
Really sir jii wonderfull old memories
Thanks!
Excellent work
Thanks!
Pleasure watching tis
Thanks!
Loved every bit of it. South Central Railways :D
Was able to relate most of the video to what it is now and best part is the important ones are still similar. :) Only two Krishna Bridges at BZA was something great to see, which I believe I narrowly missed out seeing.
Thanks for sharing sir :)
I was expecting to hear from you. The good old SCR. I am sure you must have enjoyed those WAM4s and WAG1s :-)
@@ManiVijay yes sir I absolutely loved it. Infact the place where the BZA WAM4 farewell happened is covered in this video (inside the ELS) and that was quite nostalgic.
Amazing Memories sir
I agree. Have very fond memories of this trip.
Welcome back sir
Good to be back.
I was born in Vijaywada sir.
Excellent Videos! Were single marker lights the norm back then? What was the other lamp housing for? When did double markers become the norm?
Thanks! No, double marker lamps were being used back then. I myself am wondering why only one marker lamp was lit in the locos captured here.
TVC Rajdhani route was via Konkan since inauguration
I want to asking u a little question?..aap ne 1995 in month of August me kitna travel kiya tha sir? Because aap k maximum vedios same year aur same month ka hai.
Haan... 1995 me mein kaafi travel kiya. Mein India me do mahine ke liye tha.
Awesome track sounds...The WDM lead train near KZJ must be WL-SC Kakatiya Fast Passenger..KZJ Greens were superb..!
Thanks! I was also wondering which train that was - thanks for the update.
But doesn't Kakatiya fast passenger run in electric; WAM 4 loco ? As far as I know Vijayawada-Kazipet-Secunderabad line was electrified by that time and also Kakatiya passenger pass Warangal around 4am and was always hauled by WAM 4.
@@adityamajumdar135 It ran with Diesel under wires till late 90s, originally between Warangal-Hyderabad-Warangal before shifting to SC to form RSA with SC Repalle Passenger reversing same diesel loco.
@@RajeshMishraZ
Then why did some trains ran with Diesel locomotive despite having the route electrified ? I mean under wires and also having electric loco hauled trains in that route ?
Why ?
Can you please answer this ?
@@ManiVijay And which train was standing at Vijaywada for going towards Kazipet or Balharshah ? Which train it can be and why was it on WDM ?
Super sir.
Thanks!
Wonderful
Thanks!
looked through all the parts to see my hometown Bharuch (Gujarat), but realized that the TVC Rajdhani didn't went via Gujarat. Was very hopeful to see my hometown's face 9 years before I was born. Any other trip in which traveled through that route and uploaded it?
Very nice sir
Thanks!
Nice coverage. Did you covered beyond Chennai sir?
Thanks. My wife and I got down at Chennai but I saw the loco changing ends.
Blasting raj👌👌
True :-)
I just subscribed this channel
Thanks!
Where would Mr. An the attendant would be now, Whom you are interviewing in Vijayawada
No clue. He was actually a pesky guy and after my money.
1990s kerala express....?
Sir this Tvc rajdhani was extension of madras rajdhani??
Correct!
Do you have Southern railways MG video further to be uploaded sir? Waiting for new SR MG train uploads. Palaya videos almost pathuten sir. Chennai to Coimbatore line la capture pannirunthingana that would be special treat for me.
Ammam. I have to upload my Dec 2000 Nellai Exp. trip. Though I was in a BG train, I was next to the MG electrified track right from Villupuram and took videos. Will upload that sometime.
Ok sir I am waiting
On those days Alcos and WAMs are very common
Very true. The Wammies are almost gone now.
@@ManiVijay Sir, HWH ELS Wammies were given to Intercity Exp trains. Now ER is 100℅ electrified with P-7s ruling the roost 😀
What is happening to the video sir it has a certain jiggle effect.
I noticed that too. The stabilization didn't work properly. Sorry about that.
Nice but where is part 2
Part 2 is here - ruclips.net/video/ajn-HvO9f2I/видео.html
Sorry once used twice typo error.
Definitely you would have crossed tn express??
Yes, we crossed TN at Itarsi. You can see that here - ruclips.net/video/ajn-HvO9f2I/видео.html
Why where some trains running in WDM from Vijayawada towards Kazipet or Balharshah ?
Which route wasn't electrified that time near Vijaywada and Kaizepet ?
I saw two trains hauled by WDM before entering Vijayawada (after or before Warangal) and a train standing in Vijayawada for going towards Warangal. Which were those trains and why where they hauled by Diesel locomotive ?
The Vijayawada-Visakhapatnam route wasn't electrified at that time.
@@ManiVijay Ok but then why 2 trains were passing with WDM from Vijayawada towards Kazipet or Balharshah if you have read my questions ? Which route in BZA-Secunderabad or BZA-Balharshah wasn't electrified properly ?
Vijay sir please throw some light on this.
@@ManiVijay When was VSKP-BZA line electrified ? Why trains like Kakatiya passenger went in Diesel despite having electrification from Warangal till Secunderabad ?
@@adityamajumdar135 BZA-SC/BPQ were all electrified. Loco links can be strange. Even today, we have many instances of DUW - Diesel Under Wires.
I wonder why is Rajdhani is running at a slow speed? Isn't it supposed to be a high speed train?🤔
Well, it can't run at MPS throughout the route. Otherwise, Delhi-Chennai would get covered in just 18 hours 😁. But the train did very good from NZM to JHS - just 4 hrs. 15 mts - see this video - ruclips.net/video/S-6D7A-m-eM/видео.html
Part 4.........?????
It is here - ruclips.net/video/cllmpTb54vA/видео.html
@@ManiVijay.
Sir.
I mentioned that time. The rajdhani exp Rack reverse at mas.
So sorry.
Part 5....?
I think that time from mas ac loco or dc loco.... !
Great! So you slept for only two hrs?! Real Fan!
Thanks! I dozed off after Sewagram but woke up near Chandrapur and then slept off after Balharshah. And woke up in the morning :-)
Wow green and red livery WDM 2
Back then, we used to have so many different liveries for ALCOs.
@@ManiVijay but which route near BZA or Kazipet or Balharshah not electrified ?
As far as I know, the major routes from BZA towards VSKP, Secunderabad (via Kazipet), Balharshah and Guntur (towards Chennai) were electrified.
Then which route near Vijaywada or Kazipet or Balharshah not electrified that WDM were operating ?
@@ManiVijay Also which were the trains which were hauled by WDM locos ?
one train was before entering or after crossing Warangal after bypassing Kazipet in the Vedio and another train was which was standing in Vijayawada while entering Vijayawada in this Vedio.
Which were these trains being hauled by WDM and why ? Please tell Mani sir.
I guess it's the camera zooming issue never had this problem in your videos before. Nevertheless great job once again .
Those days, I had this bad habit of zooming too much while in speed. So, I used stabilization in my editor but somehow it didn't work well on this one.
No problem sir having a video camera back in 1992 was a bid thing in India.
Sorry I meant big thing
BZA is beautiful stn in MAS---NDLS line
Very true. Such a massive junction.
You know I believe the glory days were relevant till all the locos had a single high beam head light and the glory ended or we're not relevant anymore once they started once twin headlights. That's why when I visit IRFCA website which I quite often do I only download those photos from the gallery of loco page whether diesel or electric the photos I always download loco will always be having a single headlight. Not the twin ones.
Those glory days seem to be over :-(
Bhai AP fb PR ho
Haan - facebook.com/mani.vijay1
Your vintage videos always makes me sad
It's such a bad time for train lovers seeing all these ac icf coaches being converted to shit lhb
I agree. And now they are going to recall the LHB coaches because of jerk issues.
@@ManiVijay
No they won't
Jerk is not a big issue
Now already train are converted to lhb, moreover the major advantage of lhb is that it provides safety
Now jerk issues are monitoring by railways and they are planning to provide couplers it seems.
