Wow!! Appreciate you watching a full-length video in a different language than English. This is the Bisaya Language prominent in the Visayas and some parts of Mindanao. ❤❤
From what I've seen, Bisaya is the majority speaker in the Philippines (Visayas and Mindanao) but Tagalog or Filipino has been chosen because Manila is the capital in the Philippines. Bisaya is a category language composed of other languages and dialect, and Cebuano is the language they speak with a lot of dialects like Bol-anon (Bohol where Colet came from), Southern Leytehanon, Surigaonon, etc... and Mindanao also speaks Bisaya mixed with a lot of dialects may it be Cebuano or Davaño or Butuanon don't get confused between language and dialect language is something that you speak entirely different from another and dialect is something that you speak slightly different but still the same from the language: (Cebuano and Bol-anon is examples of dialect of a Language, most bol-anon incorporate J letters instead of Y. Since the Philippines is an archipelago, we have a wide variety of languages spoken across it (about 180+ I think). The main languages are Filipino (based mainly on Tagalog with incorporation of different languages in the PH) and English. Tagalog is primarily used in the "mainland/capital", especially in Metro Manila where many large companies are located. PBB has been a gateway for people to become famous. Many comedians, actors, and hosts started out in PBB. I think their exposure on the show makes it easier for people to get to know them and kickstart their careers after leaving the house. In a sense, because PBB has produced so many talents, they have now consolidated all auditions (PBB, Talents, Star Hunt) into one. (Fun Fact: Melai, the host, was the winner of her season in PBB). I already watched the podcast, but I was surprised that I ended up watching it twice with you reacting to it. As always, you've been one of my favorite reactors when it comes to Bini
Philippines is divided into 3 Major Island. Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao(Luzviminda) Bini included it in their song ‘Lagi’. Now each part of it consist of many regions. Most people who reside in luzon part speak tagalog dialect (Tagalog is also a dialect), while most people who live in Visayas and Mindanao speak their native dialect ‘bisaya’. there are 111 dialects here in the Philippines. A large number of dialects is the indicator of the subdivisions of the regions and the culture within the islands.
Tagalog is the language of the National Capital Region (NCR) of the Philippines. Tagalog, Bisaya/Cebuano, Bicolano, etc. are languages of their own, while still having different dialects within them. Tagalog is known as "the Filipino language". We even have a school subject called "Filipino" and it's all just Tagalog (saying this because I'm not Tagalog and I'm Bicolano, so that makes me trilingual, I guess). And PBB is similar to other Big Brother shows where they get to stay inside Kuya's (Big bro's) house. The auditions are there for aspiring contestants for the show. I don't know why that is but I think it's because many past contestants of the show became famous artists and PBB would be a great way to showcase the aspiring artists' personalities and traits, as well as what makes them worthy of people's love and respect. Sheena and Gwen were one of those auditionees who passed and became one of Kuya's housemates. It was only after the show ended that the two were chosen to be a part of the girl group and became Star Hunt Academy trainees.

The Host Melai is such a character xD She's effortlessly funny even back when she was in PBB, a lot of people watched because of her antics in the show xD But this interview is very fun indeed and it lets Aiah express herself in her local dialect since she's more comfy with Bisaya. I cant wait for Colet's turn in this show I bet it's going to be a blast!
@@NeonReactionsPierre She was a contestant (and I believe the winner) of PBB in her batch. She was soooo fun to watch during that time and she continued to do so even as she entered showbiz. She can really fit the girls humor so much.
3:44 The Philippines, before the Spanish and American colonization, was a country rich in identity. It’s an archipelagic country and is surrounded by several other Southeast Asian countries, that’s why the 7,100 islands of the Philippines has about 100-200 languages and each has their own dialects. After the declaration of independence from Spain, the official language was English and eventually Tagalog (but referred to by the government as Filipino) became the national language because the people who led the revolutions were Tagalog-speakers. Tagalog-speakers live in Luzon island, where Manila City is situated. People from provinces like Cebu, Negros Island, Mindanao often find better opportunities/employment by leaving the province and moving to Luzon. So in Visaya (Bisaya) context, this so of Melai is in a way an outlet or “touch base” for people from provinces especially Bisaya-speakers, thus, her guests are either from Cebu, Bohol, or Mindanao.
We have 9 major languages, Bisaya is a major language, it's completely different from Tagalog. Having been born in Mindanao island, I can speak Hiligaynon (another of the 9 major) since my family are Hiligaynon speakers. I can also speak Bisaya since that is the regional Lingua Franca, and Tagalog since that is the national language. As a BiniLat (Bini X Alamat fandom), I can't help myself but mention Alamat again haha. The original concept of the group is to represent that 9 major ethnic groups/languages so they have 9 original members (now 6).
Pierreee, Colet will be the next guess on this show, I hope you react on it!! Thankyouuuu for always reacting to Bini. Love your reactions pierre, best reactor indeed💓💯🔥

During that time ( i think 2018 or 2019) ABS CBN (one of the network in the phil) conducted a Grand audition (star hunt audition), in where from that audition they will select the contestants to be participating in their various programs like “tawag ng tanghalan (something like the voice) PBB and others” most of the girls (BINI) auditioned for PBB teens. PBB is actually a big thing in the Phil because that would be your ticket to stardom (though it’s not a guarantee but just being part of it is already a big deal). Melai (the host) is actually also a grand winner of PBB 2009.
Tagalog is a dialect which is dominant in Luzon esp around Manila Bay area. Filipino is a standardized version of Tagalog which became the national language of the country.

Bisaya/Cebuano is Aiah and Colet's native tongue. Mikha can speak little bisaya as she was born in Cebu but raised in Manila she has a conyo tagalog(Taglish or tagalog-english accent) Maloi has a Batangueño dialect (Batangas Tagalog). Stacey is Ilocano language. Sheena can speak little Ilocano. Gwen is Bicolano language. Jhoanna is pure tagalog. Also, Mactan is where the portugese explorer was killed.
it is common to speak at least 3 languages here especially if you grew up outside the tagalog region. we usually learn the non-tagalog language first, then english, then tagalog in that order. some of us are actually more fluent in english than tagalog because you will most likely never speak tagalog if you do not live around manila. also, these philippine languages are often mistaken as dialects but they are actually separate languages because they are mutually unintelligible. if you are curious about the difference between tagalog and bisaya, you can try watching with the tagalog subs on and see if the words match what they are saying.
We have HUNDREDS of languages spread throughout the country. The tagalog language is spoken mainly by the "katagalugan", mostly people in Luzon or the middle part of the country as far as i know, haven't delved in deeper regarding this. The filipino language is the official language, mostly similar to tagalog with just tiny tweaks and nuances. And then we have english as our second language. And then we have the other languages too like bisaya, ilocano, chavacano (very similar to spanish), etc. Aside from that, the regions and places have dialects from the language spoken there too.
We have over 70 languages in the Philippines. Tagalog or Filipino is the national language so we all know Tagalog. If not good in Tagalog then we use English. Every region in the Philippines sort of have their own language. I came from the Ilocos region so I speak Ilocano.
I really love how you watched the whole thing. I watched it without the subtitles & I was so proud of myself for picking up everything even though I don’t speak the language . Watching your reaction & reading the English subtitles as well made me appreciate it even more.
Tagalog is the language of the capital. Most of the largest and most prestigious schools/universities in the country are located in Metro Manila. Most of the country’s written literature, had already been written in Tagalog. At that time, Tagalog also had a larger number of speakers. Tagalog was already more standardized than the other languages in the country. Tagalog had already evolved to be rich with complex words, terms and expressions that didn’t exist in the other native languages of the country at that time… and without this, it would be harder to express one’s thoughts. The late president Manuel L. Quezon launched the (Surian Ng Wikang Pambansa) to determine what local language is the most suitable to be the base of Filipino… representatives from all major ethnolinguistic groups were present to cast their votes, which obviously resulted in Tagalog being the “winning” choice. Lastly, there was no monolithic “Bisaya language” prior to the 1940’s… what we now call “Bisaya” or “Binisaya” is mainly based on Cebuano, just like how Filipino is based on Tagalog. Cebuano is not the only language in the Visayas. However since Cebuano had become widespread, it now enjoys the “privilege’ of being the main regional language of the Visayas.
I am Filipino and I speak tagalog but as a native Ilonggo speaker I choose to speak English too mix with tagalog when I am in Manila as we feel uncomfortable speaking full tagalog in Ilonggo Accent,it sounds really different😅
This has been a debate for the longest time. Tagalog is the language of central Philippines but also has many variations and/or dialects (Quezon tagalog, Bulacan tagalog, Batangas tagalog, Rizal tagalog). Our national language is called "Pilipino/Filipino", Tagalog is also considered our national language since it's used by the majority in able to understand each other because of their different dialects. So basically Tagalog/Pilipino and this consist of all the other regional languages and dialects alike. For me personally, Bisaya is also a language of it's own which also has a lot of variations and dialects. What they are using in that interview is Cebu/Cebuano bisaya. Other dialects are Davao bisaya, Bacolod bisaya/ilonggo and Bohol bisaya/Boholanon which is Colet's dialect.
There are actually more filipinos that speak bisaya as their first language than tagalog. It just so happens that Manila (tagalog speakers) is the country's capital city so the government at that time adopted tagalog/filipino as our national language
I hope we get a reaction video of the BINI chronicles part 1 & 2 so you'll get to know each member even better. Also, prepare tissues because tears might fall.
20:07 in a Philippine context, PBB is a big deal. Television in the country is like Filipinos and rice, from the moment a Pinoy wakes up they watch TV while preparing for work or school. During lunch, eateries have TVs, in the evening, Filipinos watch TV while having dinner. TV networks have rivalries: GMA vs ABS-CBN. TV Ratings Wars and all that. When it’s PBB season, ABS-CBN wins the primetime ratings, especially in the earlier seasons. PBB is also a means of escape for Filipinos who dream of leaving poverty, as you may know the Philippines is a third world country.
Hi Neon, Philippines has 3 islands Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao we have different languages, in Luzon they speak tagalog, then Visayas & Mindanao mostly speaks Cebuano language
thank you for reacting FILIPINO (tagalog) is our national language but BISAYA i think the most spoken because in the Philippines we have 3 major islands, LUZON VISAYAS and MINDANAO. VISAYAS and MINDANAO uses bisaya language (with in the major islands, we also have local dialects different from one island to another) same with LUZON most of them speaks TAGALOG but they also have different dialects.
Tagalog is the nat’l. language but there are several dialects in the provinces that have very little similarity to Tagalog so even us from Manila hardly understand the other dialects. Did you know since our country was colonized by the Spaniards for 300 years ago that in the Southern part “chavacano” is spoken which is very similar to Spanish that Spanish speaking tourist understand them. The conjugation might be a bit off but over all they could converse with any Spanish speaking nationalities. Obviously the Americans came to our country as well thats why English is our second language. Glad you love our all girl gem Bini! A triple threat! Beauty, singing prowess and top notch dancing skills! ❤❤❤
yes! the first television exposure of Gwen and Sheena is the Pinoy Big Brother Season 8~ unfortunately, both of them wasnt able to reach the final rounds of the show
Coincidentally, a lot of people that joined PBB became actors or singers when they get out of the house. It became more of a platform for people to be known and get popular, this was before vlogging era.
Tagalog is mainly used by people from Luzon while Bisaya is the dialect in two of the three major islands of the Philippines. Bruh I'm bisaya myself but other provinces and regions have their own type of bisaya.
There are over 120 or more languages spoken in the Philippines. Filipino, the standardized form of Tagalog, is the national language and used in formal education throughout the country.
in the Philippines we have 175+ language every city and province aiah is from cebu and they speak bisaya and im from Iloilo city we speak ilonggo and sometimes also bisaya and if you are from manila you speak tagalog
Pinoy Big Brother is very different here in Ph, besides the different challenges for the housemate to show their determination to win, it's also like a door for opportunities in the entertainment industry that's why a lot of people auditioned. Gwen and Sheena is from the same batch and after PBB they got a callback from ABSCBN which is the company that handles PBB for the Starhunt Academy and eventually other teens have joined too including the other BINI membersb(fun fact: Gwen is the first person that got a callback because the Director has seen a lot of potential in her)
3:40 (This might be long) Filipino is the national language. It is the standard form of Tagalog where loan words from other dialects and languages is included (e.g. The word "dictionary" in Filipino is "Diksyunaryo" coming from Spanish. Otherwise a Tagalog purist would say "Talatinigan") According to Ethnologue, there are about 175 languages in the Philippines (other sources say more or less than this number). (There is also confusion within Filipinos about languages and dialects) Aiah is from Cebu where Cebuano dialect of Binisaya/Bisaya is spoken ("Binisaya" or "Bisaya" is the term used for their language where it is spoken in Visayas and Mindanao) (it is mutually unintelligible to Tagalog meaning a Tagalog speaker may pick up some words but can not engage in a full conversation with a "Bisaya" Speaker). Colet is also a native speaker of this language in Boholano dialect. Just to add Maloi is a native speaker of the Batangueña/ Batangas dialect of Tagalog (notorious for its different vocabulary and accent) Johanna is a native speaker of the Lagueña / Laguna Dialect of Tagalog (not so different with the Manila dialect (where the standard language is derived from)) Gwen is a native speaker of Bikol Language Sheena and Stacey are native speakers of the Iloko/Ilocano Language And Mikha sure is familiar with Bisaya but mostly speaks in English ang Tagalog P.S. If other people have something to add, feel free to do so. Let's not be rude to each other❤
I am curious how Stacey and Sheena speaks Ilocano since they came from Nueva Vizcaya and Isabela respectively where majority speaks in Ilocano. I have not yet seen any videos that they speak that language. Even with Gwen also as she is from Albay where Bicolano is the main language. As for Mikha, she was just born in Cebu but raised in different places in Luzon and eventually residing now in Metro Manila. So I still need to find out if she can speak even a little Bisaya.

As always, you've been one of my favorite reactors when it comes to Bini
thankyou so much for watching even though you already did before ... I appreciate that!
yeeeey!! another one!!🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼 thanks Pierreas always!!💙
bisaya here!🤚🏼😊
There so many dialects in the Philippines per region. Luzon mostly Tagalog and Ilocano, Visayas Region are Bisaya, Waray etc...
I can't believe I stayed for one hour in this vid to watch this episode with you hahaha that was so fun and inspiring to watch❤
It was only after the show ended that the two were chosen to be a part of the girl group and became Star Hunt Academy trainees.
i checked your bini playlist then i see your thumbnail with aiah in it. but there was no video yet so i was confused. i restart my youtube then see this. haha ty pierre!
4:04, we have many dialects here in the Philippines. Bisaya is one of them, and I speak Bisaya; it's my mother tongue. Haha.
Colet will also have her appearance there. Watch out for that.
I'm a Filipino yes Tagalog is is a national language then bisaya isa 1 of 100 plus languages that we have in Philippines
Melai really is quite the character :)
Thanks for reacting to bini aiah ❤... Just Wait for bini colet's turn, it'll be out soon..❤
Bisaya is one of the dialects in Philippines but mostly tagalog (Filipino) is the main language in Luzon which Manila located
Language bai.
Wait for colet interview in that channel also
Pierreee, Colet will be the next guess on this show, I hope you react on it!! Thankyouuuu for always reacting to Bini. Love your reactions pierre, best reactor indeed💓💯🔥

good thing there is sub because as Tagalog speaker i don’t understand a thing what they say.
I was laughing with Pierre on those funny parts of this interview. This is awesome!
The interviewer, Melai, is actually a popular comedien and host in the Philippines!
I really appreciate you watching longer videos of bini, and I can see that you really love them genuinely that's why you're one of my fave bini reactors ♥️
Thank you very much :)
Thank you for this awesome reaction❤❤❤

Melai (the host) is famous comedian and host. She became famous because she was the winner of her season.. She will also interview Bini Colet soon..

I watched this reaction a whole hour without skipping, that just tells how much i enjoyed this
I'm glad you enjoyed it, thank you for being here
As a bisaya, it's a language and bisayan language also varies and has multiple dialects according to their regions.
I'm a pilipino but I don't know how to speak bisaya only Tagalog ang Ilocano. But here in the Philippines there are so many languages
New follower here 😅 and I've been watching your BINI reactions...
As an avid bloom, I appreciate how your reactions are honest yet fun... Looking forward to seeing more of your reaction videos from our best girls... ♾️🌸
thank you so much, I really appreciate that!!!
YAAAASSSS❤❤❤
HAHAHA this was fun and funny!!!
I believe Bini Colet will also be guesting here..... I'm just not sure when.. hopefully next episode..,🥰🥰🥰
Same.. Been waiting for her episode. But i think next episode will be Maymay. No clue when colet's episode will be.
@@franzxiya I see.. hopefully soon
I really love how you watched the whole thing. I watched it without the subtitles & I was so proud of myself for picking up everything even though I don’t speak the language . Watching your reaction & reading the English subtitles as well made me appreciate it even more.
thankyou
Yeah Bini life
Tagalog is the language of the capital.
Womp womp 💀
Yes, Piere. There are over 168 languages, yes languages, in the Philippines. And tagalog is Majorly used in the Capital or Metro Manila.
MELAI is a COMEDIAN ICON from Visaya.. former PBB housemate batch 2006 or 2007
Hi I'm a new subscriber I'm very happy that I see a lot of reaction of Bini❤
thank you so much!! I really appreciate that
Hi Neon, Philippines has 3 islands Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao we have different languages, in Luzon they speak tagalog, then Visayas & Mindanao mostly speaks Cebuano language
You're one of my favorite Bini reactor
thank you so much
thank you for reacting
FILIPINO (tagalog) is our national language but BISAYA i think the most spoken because in the Philippines we have 3 major islands, LUZON VISAYAS and MINDANAO.
Several languages* Cebuano, Ilocano, Hiligaynon, Waray, etc. are not dialects of Tagalog.
yes! the first television exposure of Gwen and Sheena is the Pinoy Big Brother Season 8~ unfortunately, both of them wasnt able to reach the final rounds of the show
Coincidentally, a lot of people that joined PBB became actors or singers when they get out of the house.
First time I watched an interview in Bisaya
Gwen and Sheena is from the same batch and after PBB they got a callback from ABSCBN which is the company that handles PBB for the Starhunt Academy and eventually other teens have joined too including the other BINI membersb(fun fact: Gwen is the first person that got a callback because the Director has seen a lot of potential in her)
thank you :) :)
Colet will also be a guest on this show. Watch out for that!
3:40 (This might be long)
Filipino is the national language. It is the standard form of Tagalog where loan words from other dialects and languages is included
(e.g. The word "dictionary" in Filipino is "Diksyunaryo" coming from Spanish. Otherwise a Tagalog purist would say "Talatinigan")
According to Ethnologue, there are about 175 languages in the Philippines (other sources say more or less than this number). (There is also confusion within Filipinos about languages and dialects)
Aiah is from Cebu where Cebuano dialect of Binisaya/Bisaya is spoken ("Binisaya" or "Bisaya" is the term used for their language where it is spoken in Visayas and Mindanao) (it is mutually unintelligible to Tagalog meaning a Tagalog speaker may pick up some words but can not engage in a full conversation with a "Bisaya" Speaker). Colet is also a native speaker of this language in Boholano dialect.
Just to add
Maloi is a native speaker of the Batangueña/ Batangas dialect of Tagalog (notorious for its different vocabulary and accent)
Johanna is a native speaker of the Lagueña / Laguna Dialect of Tagalog (not so different with the Manila dialect (where the standard language is derived from))
Gwen is a native speaker of Bikol Language
Sheena and Stacey are native speakers of the Iloko/Ilocano Language
And Mikha sure is familiar with Bisaya but mostly speaks in English ang Tagalog
@@jochval there was an interview where Gwen said that she "forgot" most of her language due to constantly speaking in Tagalog
@@jeenzzed Oh i see.. thanks for that information. Actually I remember now that there was a video of Gwen giving knowledge about her place and spoke basic Bicolano words. But this video was very old
Update: Sheena seems to only know basic Ilocano while Stacey is more fluent. I just saw videos of them in TikTok.
@@jeenzzed I see.. I just need to search them again 😊. Thanks
