Smaller more nimble boats are a good choice. I have an 18 foot bass boat and can get in places my buddies can’t with the big boats. I love the smaller boats.
I got an J16 about to put an 40 hp on . Trying to figure out how far to install the center console from the stern ? What is your console measurement from the stern if you don’t mind me asking?
I just ran out and measured it. Its 65" from the transom to beginning of center console. That is where it was when I bought the boat and it planes of quickly with a nice slightly bow up ride.
That Suzuki you picked is a awesome engine I have 3000 hours I have the 50hp. The 40,50,60 share same power head if I bought the same engine I'd go 60.

I cruise at 26 no porpoising but not sure about 33?

What height is your anti ventilation plate in regards to the bottom of the skiff, and what pitch for the prop did you go with?
