In reality, planes need to be designed specifically to be able to operate from aircraft carriers.
A reinforced fuselage to prevent the tailhook from ripping the plane apart when it catches a wire.
A reinforced landing gear that is designed to hook up with the catapult system.
Probably also needs more powerful and more responsive engines for being able to immediately take off again if the hook misses all the wires.

They should make it so that they have a texture pack that makes the water look like its moving backwards and whenever your in the vicinity of the aircraft carrier it slows down your speed physically but doesn't display it on the speed gauge. that would make it easier.
