There was one small fact you could of included in that their souls are linked to middle earth. Melkor sowed discord into the song of creation and thus corruption was born into middle earth and thus corrupted the elves souls in part. As that corruption grew faded the power of the elves which is why the time of the elves was fading during the third age and they had to abandon middle earth to the undying lands where Melkors corruption could no longer have an effect on them. Their connection to middle earth is the very reason they had to abandon it.
A slight misconception here. You claim that Galadriel was given the name Alatariel by Celeborn, and that she started using Galadriel upon her arrival in Middle earth. However, she did not meet Celeborn until she visited Thingol's realm of Doriath, some time AFTER her entering Beleriand.
An earlier version of Celeborn called Teleporno was a Telerin prince in Aman who came with Galadriel to Beleriand. Tolkien changed him to be a lord of Doriath because this would have made them first cousins, which was looked down upon.
How unfortunate we humans are that we cannot be more Elven kind. I would definitely marry an elf before a human... Thranduil is such an elf, A most enchanting beautiful one at that .😍😍 interesting video .

The animocity started with the violent and crude PettyDwarves that weren't dwarves. They saw dwarves and thought those dwarves were the other people they encountered much earlier.
QUESTION: Why are elves in middle earth portrayed with pointy ears??? I don't know of anywhere Tolkien says they have ears. Or for that matter, does Tolkien ever give much of a description of elves appearance? How tall are they? Can they dunk a basketball? Could an elf beat Aragorn at arm wrestling? Mainly I want to know about the ears!
Tolkien didn't mention pointy ears, but they were already associated with elves. Male elves were at least 6'6" and female elves at least 6'. They could definitely dunk on Aragorn, but beating him in an arm wrestle depends on the elf.
Interesting video, I learnt quite a few things. A wee note: You forgot that Tolkien spoke Welsh in your list. It's not a mere detail either, he wrote at least one important paper about it, and Welsh was one of the original tongues that gave Tolkien his love of languages.

You forgot female elves don't shave their legs or armpits, and they braid their pubic hair. You know, like those chicks that followed the Grateful Dead.
How would they know their conception date? I know once they’ve been married awhile that they have sex less, but they have sex a lot apparently right when they are first married. So if they wanted a baby during that time, how would they know when they conceived?
Don't know about these RUclips's automatic translations, that have started to appear. 🤣🤣 In the title Elves was translated to Finnish as "tontut", which means exclusively these little men that we have in our mythology. Well, nowadays you can also be called as tonttu, if you mess up something. We have both Christmas Elves (Joulutontut), and more tradional "elves" that for example guarded houses, saunas etc. If you want to refer to Tolkiens elves, you use word "haltia" in Finnish. Actually in the infobox it is right.
Thank you Kari. I translate using deepl and i hope it translates in an acceptable way since i don't know a single word of your language. how is the quality of the translation in general except for the word elf?
@@middleearthtales Hi! Quality is mostly good, but almost always there is something funky with these translations. Finnish is not related to any major language (though some of our words are derived from Swedish or Russian), and we use a lot of different inflected forms of words, so it is not wonder that there are difficulties with translations. I don't mind, though I would prefer English. Btw Elvish language Quenya is based on Finnish, and Finnish national epic Kalevala has inspired many stories and characters of Tolkien, as you probably already know.
@@karirytkonen5811 Of course I know, that's why I thought it might be nice to translate the content into your language. While I have you, is the title of the video correct in your language? Is there another title you can suggest?
@@middleearthtales I don't mind small errors, it was just a fun detail. There are people who don't know English well in Finland too, so maybe it is good to have translation too. The Finnish title is otherwise ok, but it should be "19 faktaa haltioista..." so you need to change only one word. Thanks for your willingness to get it right. Finnish is not easy language I have heard. 👍

It would make sense if Elves in Middle Earth could be infertile, because otherwise they would eventually overpopulate the Middle Earth. Its a simple mathematical problem of exponential growth. Maybe they could give a birth to already existing elven soul, so in that sense the souls of elves would be waiting in a queue like those 2b2t players? And Tolkien said they can be only reembodied in Valinor anyway. So...
well they’re more long term thinking than human in theory so they could just have the deeper wisdom to not desire a child when they know there are too many of them already
@@romanmay2867 I doubt evolution would ever produce wise beings like that. Instead we get dumb animals as always. But if loving god created this, why even bother create your usual biological cycle of life? I certainly would not.
#13 is incorrect. There is only one example of such a thing happening and is considered very exceptional and significant. You cant make such a broad-stroked statement about the whole elven race based on the birth of Feanor.
And that's the reason I noted this was a single occurrence. As for the rest, it largely boils down to how one interprets it, much like with many aspects of Tolkien's writings.
There is at least one instance of humans recognizing a birthday. Hurin gives Turin an elvish knife on his birthday, who then gives it to Sador.

Given that thumbnail, #1, they might be immortal but their hair line isn't.
Point 6 is quite wrong. Orcs are literally evil elves.
Aren't Elves and Dwarves and Hobbit human too and the races are Elven, Dwarves and Men.
None of these facts is unknown to anyone who has read the books.
