I have had people ask if I was Colombian because of my accent. But I have not come across any Colombian that sounds like us. But in the Caribbean side of Costa Rica you'd think they were Boricua or Cuban

Also, no one really know when the Canarii isleños started to shape the region as they did. Cartagena and Veracruz were as important to Carribean Spanish culture as Havana and Santo Domingo in their hey day. Learn some history.

Study Spanish etymology a little. I grew up hearing misinformation from people saying stuff like “La guagua” is a Taino word, but in actuality if you look into the Spanish of Las Islas Canárias - They say it too. They have a lot of words and a flow when they speak which differs a lot compared to mainland Spain. Also huge influence from Andalusian Spanish dialect too. So, naturally, PR and DR shares so many things.
Caribbean island most is no different ,they all have same acent,same tone,same food,same life style & acent its all the same not much difference ...in mexico yes ,because mexico not all mexicans have same accent ,nor uses same expressions words,nor same food ,nor traditions and you can go any state in mexico and will be different ,from descedants ,festures, & races because mexico in every area had different european settle in ,some areas are known were frensh settle ,some spanords,some italians now some still full blood white ,and some mix so not all mexican hold the sterio tipico “ mestizo mix” some not even mestizos because they have more of the italian,or frensh ,some still blore native blood or full blood which those to communitys are native descedants ...and you can tell a mexican what part of mexico are day by side as ,southern mex,central mex,northern mex or a USA descesant mexicans. Aka chicanos.you can tell by their acent ,food,word they use ,phisical.The cultures in mexico change depending what part of mexico you from mexico have snow areas,desert areas,forest,jungle & caribe too and its just magical its a new world really. I grew up hearing misinformation from people saying stuff like “La guagua” is a Taino word, but in actuality if you look into the Spanish of Las Islas Canárias - They say it too. They have a lot of words and a flow when they speak which differs a lot compared to mainland Spain. Also huge influence from Andalusian Spanish dialect too. So, naturally, PR and DR shares so many things.

Caribbean island most is no different ,they all have same acent,same tone,same food,same life style & acent its all the same not much difference ...in mexico yes ,because mexico not all mexicans have same accent ,nor uses same expressions words,nor same food ,nor traditions and you can go any state in mexico and will be different ,from descedants ,festures, & races because mexico in every area had different european settle in ,some areas are known were frensh settle ,some spanords,some italians now some still full blood white ,and some mix so not all mexican hold the sterio tipico “ mestizo mix” some not even mestizos because they have more of the italian,or frensh ,some still blore native blood or full blood which those to communitys are native descedants ...and you can tell a mexican what part of mexico are day by side as ,southern mex,central mex,northern mex or a USA descesant mexicans.
