This was popular on the radio while my dad was dying in the hospice it became my anthem off his illness as "i'd rather be anywhere else than here". Been over a decade dad and i still feel as raw as if it were yesterday when i hear this love and miss you
Hi, I hope and wish that the time frame is shorter for you experiencing the rawness even if the intensive elements are still there for you when hearing this tune. I feel you.
Big respect to you...I lost my mum to cancer in 2015 diagnosed out of the blue and terminal 4 days after the birth of my daughter...songs still resonate the beatles in my life was her song for me...i get so angry when I hear that scientists have put a little car on mars that can detect water or the hubble space telescope 2 is nearly ready...costing billions...how much money have cancer research worldwide received in the last 200 years...wonder where that money goes hmmm ! CURE BLOODY CANCER WE DONT CARE ABOUT WATER ON MARS !
Listening to this song really helped me when I suffered with depression. I used too just sort of replay the song in my head in the bad times and felt better. Seems silly I know but for me at the time it was a real help. I would love too tell the band one day how much they helped me. I am better now and living life. Thank you Razorlight.
@@saltyscoundrel4368 I was doing ok but not so much now. Currently homeless and sofa surfing while trying too hold down a full time job. Thank you for your kind words though. They cost nothing and are worth so much.
Hope you done it man and no matter what the outcome I hope you felt good giving it a try , I know the feeling on both ends giving it a try regardless of outcome feels great
@@christophergallagher3845 Thanks for the support, and yeah I know what you mean only live with the regret saying what if if you don't let people know how you feel! Better to live life knowing you tried than thinking what if!
@@nnniiiaaallllll I met a girl from Cyprus in my city once and although I say I don't have regrets I kinda wish I would've tried my best with her instead of letting her drift away , when I saw your comment I knew what you were saying brother
I was the same, I went to see them at victorious festival this summer thinking I know 2 or 3 of their songs and ended up singing three quarters of their set. Brilliant live band too
I just saw them live, amazing performance, my past self can't believe that i managed to see them live after all those years! His voice and their performance in general was amazing!
I saw them last night, loved them.from their first album, great band, Johnny is an incredible lyricist, artist, musician, glad I could finally get to see them. Hope they continue to make more unique music
I was in charge of a funeral for a soldier, who died in Afghanistan in 2009 and this was the song that was played as his coffin left the church, RIP Johno
This video is amazing! I love the black & white, and Johnny's look with the European outfit attitude. He reminds me of the men in France and England and how they dressed... so different from the men in the USA that dressed like Charlie Chaplin or plumbers
I loved this band & Johnny singing & at that time i was about 50yrs old & felt pretty odd fancying the pants off skinny white boy Johnny B... Still like Razorlights music even now! Respect & Peace 🇬🇧👧
Always liked the band a lot but this tune I didn't hear until a couple of days ago and I cant stop listening to it and I wish I could be somewhere else too!!!!
Razor light the bends is not only a picturesque description of where it all started but no coincidence for brains like mine to see sharp sunlight piercing through as I approach the surface too quickly (ocean creatures venturing to land to make sounds) but the best two albums of the last thirty years. The designer drugs revolution. My humble opinion
The lead singer Johnny Borrell once called himself "greatest songwriter of our generation: better than Dylan" 'I met a girl. She asked me my name. I told her what it was.' Takes some pure talent to write those quality lyrics ;)
Right on my Spotify playlist and I'd forgotten how was like this video. Glad to seen him. Such a great voice. Maybe he finally got a shower. Not judging just saying. But these old songs really bring back sad thoughts i had while being a teenager and dealing with depression. And listening again it on these pandemic really brings back the depression part. But hey we got to keep living.
I remember being away from home with the army, my Mrs had some lovey song as our tune picked out with some lyrics about missing me and stuff. When I told her this was my theme for being in a desert shitehole she took it as me being a bit selfish. Ha great track about being somewhere you'd rather not be.

@DillyDyson007 absolutely agree
kind of upbeat for a parent dying song lol!
Dude. I used to fucking love Razorlight. Golden touch was sick as well
nice one, Bro
Sorry to hear that my daughter was dying of cancer and it was a significant song for us too

That's not silly whatsoever, it's nice to have something to relate to when you're in a bad place. I hope you're doing well these days!

Such an underrated tune... struggling with depression and this has given me the confidence to meet with this girl I like. Bless you Johnny

A very underrated, excellent band.
Beautiful vocal range. I love it.

sarah taylor Yes!!
Same 🙋
Yup!
I'm so thankful of my dad playing these on the guitar to me when I grew up! Great band 😁😁
and it still does m8
I love this song it takes me back from years ago ❤️
Amazing. One of the biggest indie bands of the mid-noughties, and probably the biggest one to fall and completely disappear.
Hey Johnny for,ed zazou
limecat1986 They are still playing gigs and still have a good loyal following.
limecat1986 yes they did, and its rather strange
Marc Walker , I think the drummer Andy, became a solo artist, loved these guys back in the day,
Michael Mccarron , I was mate yeah, Hampshire, Think he's posh lol
this band is forever etched in my memory, I had the best times of my life with these in the background
When people say that America or In the Morning was there best song's.
They completely forget about this and golden touch.
I am one of those people. Completely forgot about this classic.
@@gambogamboni Easy mistake to make. Just as long has you don't think wonderwall was Oasis's best song 😂😂
I was the same, I went to see them at victorious festival this summer thinking I know 2 or 3 of their songs and ended up singing three quarters of their set. Brilliant live band too
in the morning is kind of shit. America is good and Golden touch is their best
And wire to wire!
This song is one that could never fade over time, its energy and impact will go on forever and as long as we need it, which is forever.

Acabo de descubrir esta banda. Me encantó esta canción, america, golden touch in the morning. en las presentaciones en vivo están espectaculares
How are u only finding these guys it's a good time to a suppose as they have just released a new track so lucky u lol
I remember seeing these in Cornwall when I was 7 (10 years ago). It was the first band I ever saw live
That's mad! would've killed to have been there
+NoahNME Cool Story bro...
+PatchBrennan dont be a douche
Does this mean you were 17 when you wrote this and you're 19 now? Quick maths.
NoahNME bet you you was lively ha ha 😏
Love this man’s voice.

I just can't stop replaying!
I absolutely love this track
I legitimately hate how underrated Razorlight are.
Agreement here.
Same as the kings of leon
absolutely love, love love this! Takes you to a different place!....
Lynpops And a different time!
Just the best - saw them in Dublin this year - absolutely brilliant ❤️🔥
What an underrated band

Ai manda bem!!! Uma das melhores do indie rock!!!
Such a great band!

Reminds me of a camping trip I went on in 2006!!!! Sitting up till hal past five drinking Budweiser!!! Happy Daze!!!

You could never love Johnny Borrell as much as Johnny Borrell loves Johnny Borrell.
Yes he was gorgeous!
I used yo br crazy about gorgeous Johnny
What a great composing to a gorgeous culmination! Love it
Catching the sparks that flew from your heels...proof of good lyrics.
This is where a guy got this chat up line when he finally spoke to me and I ignored him , well I didnt know him at the time
Awesome chune! Love it, never gets old ❤️
Going to see these in concert in Nottingham in January! So looking forward to that!
This music got me through being 15 and back to it now getting me through 33
I feel this comment ❤
This song brings back so many memories down King's Cross many years ago. Northumberland Arms from this video was a great boozer 🍻
meet them by 2005at live 8....and what a band they are!
Watched them last night in Birmingham still great!
This song should have millions more views.
I loved this band & Johnny singing & at that time i was about 50yrs old

Still like Razorlights music even now!
Respect & Peace
🇬🇧👧
i dont care how shite the lyrics are, this song is fucking brilliant, a classic from my childhood and one i'll always love....
Agreed, the lyrics are piss poor but a great tune and the singer has a presence and charisma about him.
@@retsoptihs0 He was a cocky little bastard, but pretty endearing. I still listen now, so he had something going for him
Love the lyrics lol that's what attracted me, somewhere else you never felt it
sounds like you knew more about music as a kid. Before you became a pretentious lyric lover 😆
Theres fuck all wrong with the lyrics apart from i met a girl and asked her name part
Still doing the festivals, great band
Always liked the band a lot but this tune I didn't hear until a couple of days ago and I cant

Ha ha ! 🤣
Lmaooo I won't agree with him there but it's a pretty good song!
It's like Lennon and McCartney
"I met a symphony of breezes. They asked me my diseases. I told them my friend, my name ain't Jesus."
Turned it into Bob Dylan lyrics, Took 3 seconds.
That's why Keane based Frog Prince on him. 😉😏
Awesome song. 16 , great , 32 , great !
Love them ❤
Heard this in the ASDA today and was like no wayyyyy not heard it for literally like 5 years good song though and good band
Listen again after 9 years 😁
@@private_joy Wow. 9 Years. Damn. Still a good song though :D
2021 anyone? i remember when this was first released and it sounds even better now!

"I met a girl, she asked me her name, I told her what it was". Greatest lyric ever.
those lyrics could have easily been shit in a different song tbh but that part of this song is great
I met a girl. She asked me my name..?
But thats not the lyrics lool
I just don't get it

Absolutely irresistible...Love U, love your voice, love Johnny.

i remember singing this on singstar rocks or something like that :D
Takes me back to my late teens, partying with my big brother who sadly passed away... Happy memories...
Sorry for your loss.
"And I met a girl, she asked me my name. I told her what it was." You just don't get lyrics this deep anymore.
it is deep - weirdly - deep by not trying to be deep
Absolute gem
They played in my town!!!😍💜
Feeling nostalgic
