YO ODY RECOGNITION LFGGGGGGG But really, this is super high praise and I can't thank you enough! Omega Strikers is the first game I've ever felt passionate enough about to make an entire character guide video on in all of my time in gaming. Speaks true to the skill ceiling that's offered, and how fun and rewarding it is to land these kinds of flashy plays and combos offered with Rasmus here. I salute you, Lutzburg! Thank you very much for your hard work! ❤
Rasmus is the reason I fell in love with and keep playing omega strikers! His play patterns are intoxicating, and allow so much expression and opportunity. If you do have to nerf him pls only nerf his player knockback with death touch, I think that particular aspect of the ability is the least expressive part of his kit, and it never feels like you are “outplaying” som1 when you pull them into the pit for the fifth time
This is probably the best guide to any character for this game. Everything is thoroughly explained, and the clips do a FANTASTIC job demonstrating the points you're talking about throughout the video. Genuinely, thanks for taking the time to make such a great video. Subscribed!
Thank you thank you for the great praise and love! You would not believe how hard it was for me to make a running script with this, it probably took me just as much time as editing the video together. Thank you again for the love, and subscription~!
I am a top 1k Rasmus goalie main, and I can safely agree with what you have said in this video. I don’t think you really touched enough on the power of the power of pendulum swing to keep control of the core, especially swinging it into walls to steal the core. As goalie rasmus my most common play pattern to carry games is to slowly push myself up to midfield, and use all three of his abilities to keep the core permanently on the opponents side, in control of friendly forwards. Rasmus is one of the only strikers who can consistently pull this off, since his ult can save any core that gets passed you, you can reposition back to goal with speed boost, and consistently stuff enemy forwards with pendulum swing. Overall great video! No1 should sleep on Rasmus goalie ❤
Thank you for the solidarity! 99% of my experience has come as Rasmus forward, with only Goalie experience being in Norms, or when going against some Rasmus goalies in my comp. matches. Making this video, I approached it based on Rasmus Forwards, so it's nice to hear the opposite perspective of how to better effectively use him as a Goalie! PS feels just as good as Atlas' Astral Projection in terms of stuffing forwards, and definitely when they're trying to control it at your corners, but I can't say that I've been aggressive enough in my own norms to really play that far out! My respect to you, and thank you again for the compliment!
Ngl I spent too much time laughing at myself when first thinking about it. It's such a stupid joke and I can't stop smiling every time I watch it back~
Im also a Rasmus main, just reaching top 800 of NA and you showed me some stuff I did not think about before, so, thanks about the tips man, always great to see another Rasmus main play :D
*The Clarion Corp. agenda grows* Eyyy! Congrats on your top 800 status, and here's to your higher grinding! If I could ask, what did you learn from my video, and what might you want to learn more about in the future? Getting ideas on what else I could cover if I make a part 2/expanded guide for anything I might have missed in the future!
@@ChartreuseProxy well mostly with the secondary hability of Rasmus, i did not knew you could use it to drible faster like that, most of the times i use it to pass by golies, so its pretty odd i use it in the midfield haha appart from that, y never though of using the ult to auto pass me with the ult, i have done like, other stuff as in auto passes with Rasmus, but never like that soooo thats just one trick to learn to use well :b but most importanly, i did not knew about the sweet spot to reach the goal in 1 go LOL never really looked it up though, but its good to know XD as in other stuff to learn about him... i think you covered him pretty well, most of Rasmus are tricks and "mind games"... so maybe a positioning guide could be nice, since its the most important part of that
@@caliel2127 Thank you for the feedback! Initially, I was planning on including a map guide too, but didn't want to bloat the video length too much. I think if I follow up then, I'll make it focused exactly on that, where to position yourself on each map!
Fantastic guide! Picked up the game recently and Rasmus has been my favorite so far. The way you break his abilities down and explain their usage is really helpful. Subbed :)
Thank you very much~! Happy to hear that I was able to help people understand his kit! The 3* in-game difficulty imo really does come from being able to break down just how versatile his kit is, and people should know how to use all his kit to the fullest potential!
Hey, thanks for the love! Rasmus can be especially hard to pilot when trying to pick apart his kit, but lots of my plays here are predicated on lots of time, practice, and muscle memory. If you keep trying with him, you'll be able to pull these off just as well in due time!
just one thing i wanted to say chrono boost does add to the duration of Rasmus secondary, and it also works with cast to last. we were discussing this in the OCE server.
Huh! The more you know, I always assumed otherwise since the Keywords are usually pretty cut and dry when it comes to defining "Buffs". Thank you for the tip, then~! Makes me wish that in the future, we can activate Awakenings in the practice range... would definitely help out for guide videos when testing out Awakening effects/getting stock footage...
A bit late, but I would assume all "haste" effects are just a subset of buffs that increase speed, and in my experience chrono has increased the duration of every haste buff I've used.
Pretty nice guide. The only things I would add is the emphasis of whiplash only being able to hit in 8 directions and using positioning to utilize it to your advantage (some situations you would want to hit it top left or backwards if either you are hitting an object [atlas lab vortex, dubu wall, rune pillar, ect.] that can redirect it in a good scoring angle or back to your teammate faster in order to send the core on the opposite field) and needing to play closer to the core side if the enemies are playing around death's touch and blocking your intercepts forcing more of a harassing or ko-centric playstyle. Nice to see you hit chal too.
Very fair assessment! I didn't really focus in too much on the directionality of Whiplash, as I really found many other Rasmuses failing to take advantage of both casts, and went in editing the video with that primary goal in mind, so I definitely neglected the finer details with it being one of the few 360* abilities in the game, and the flexibility it provides. In my initial draft too, I had some examples of enemies actively cutting off Death Touch angles too as good examples of where *not* to position yourself or be obvious about your intentions, but with that section's length already super long, I decided against it. Thank you for the feedback~!
Fair enough! He could have stalled for sure looking back at it, but at the end of the day, he still passed instead of stalling, which enabled this play.
This was pretty helpful for the awakenings! Just had one question: what characters are you looking for to pair with Rasmus? Are there any in particular that work better with him or is he just flexible to any and all characters?
Hey, thank you! Rasmus is definitely one of the most Flexible characters, and he does flex pretty well with whoever his Forward strike partner is, as that will help dictate his playstyle, and how you want to approach the field, either as a catch-all midfielder who enables the more aggressive picks to stay in position, or as the main threat with his effective range and pressure from his kit alone. Ai.Mi: Note where she places Firewall Sentry, and control the weak side of the field where she isn't. You lock up the Core's possible clear locations and can easily force more pressure if the Core gets close to the goal with Pendulum Swing to K.O. goalies who are too focused on stopping the Sentry. Otherwise, play as normal, both of you can cover each other with Death Touch/Glitch Pop if your offensive stuns don't work out, and can rotate as Midfield/Forward with ease. Asher: You're all about feeding Asher the core and letting her brute force it in, keep it to the edges and move up with Whiplash to stop vertical passes and clears. She's the pressure point in your Forward comp, and you're there to help keep the Core right at her feet, or sneak the other side of the goal if the goalie gets lazy and doesn't spot your Death Touch. Atlas: Atlas Forward...? It can work... but let's mostly assume goalie here. You can be waaay more oppressive in the goalie's face/a brawler forward whenever Celestial Intervention is up, but that does not save bad positioning. Watch Atlas' ability use and mostly try to catch Death Touch angles from his creations, and help them out from afar with PS, since they have no mobility of their own. Drek'ar: Keep it in the corners, and don't be afraid to fall further back if you can keep the other forwards marked. Xeno Cloak means that Drek'ar forward can cover for himself and 1v1 the goalie if given space, and Lock and Load having two shots means he forces out the goalie abilities before brute forcing it in. You just shutdown the passing lanes and allow him to do his thing, as Midfield. If you're the Forward, it's the exact same thing but roles reversed. He covers for you, you keep the pressure up. Dubu: Dubu forwards can be weird, but it's all about tracking whenever one of his creations would knock the Core into a possible Death Touch. Keep the Core as far forwards and don't be afraid to Strike the core into weird angles if it allows Dubu to put up a good Tofu Fortress and keep the pressure on the enemy side of the field. Just watch how your Dubu likes to use his abilities like this, and adjust accordingly. Era: Speed speed speed. You saw some of the clips in the video with my Era, where she is entirely self-sufficient in self-passing to herself and keeping the Core in allied control. Your goal here then is to stun the Goalie or find Death Touches when she loses control. Your team has a massive advantage in speed and size at bursts, and you should recognize when it's time to push in. If you can trust Era to maintain control, you can just focus on stunning out the goalie and force mistakes. Estelle: Like Drek'ar, force those corners for her to Snipe, but mirror where she is on the field. Rose Warp can save a Core from hitting a barrier/scoring a goal, but without anyone to catch it, it goes right back into enemy control. That's your job, to maintain Core control and allow her to get her own 1-2s when she's Forward, then swapping with her if she has to Warp back and assist on defense. Juliette: You saw the Death Touch stun examples there, and she functions like Asher in terms of supporting your Forward, but with a bit more aggression. Feed her the Core, and make her job easier with Pendulum Swing/Death Touch stuns. If possible, keep hitting enemies to get their stagger low, and open up potentials for Stagger-Dash-Punch kills on her side. Juno: Follow Dubu comment; don't be afraid of the corners and weird angles if Juno can get a Blobbo or a jump to personally pressure it, and see how they play. Once a Juno commits her jump to be on the offense, it's your position on the Midfield that's most important to help her out in keeping it near her and her Blobbos. Kai: When playing with an allied Kai forward, you need to be patient with your Death Touch use, as it can easily clump up a Barrage angle and stuff both of your abilities. You look at your Whiplash and PS for your main way to support him, keeping the Core right where his Barrage bullets are landing and denying clears away. Just track his cooldowns and let him shine when Barrage/Blazing pace are up, otherwise it's then your turn to release Death Touch and be the main Forward. Luna: Keep as tight to your corners as possible, and allow Luna's B.O.O.S.T. to get easy hits when enemies clump up, or when the goalie clears vertically. She can commit in a split second for her pressure, so you need to make sure the enemy is forced into these bad situations, where Luna can always land her abilities/force evades and cascade CoreFlip pressure. Octavia: A more selfish Era, where you really do have to trust her with controlling the core. Not a bad thing though, as your team's goalie pressure has immensely grown, and you should recognize whenever they're standing too far back for a PS kill, or when you can hook them into Octavia's Bass Drop. Rune: Don't be afraid to move up more and let Rune do his thing. You are the primary offensive pressure until Rune gets enough Awakenings to kill with his Special combos, and he can cover for you better with Anomalies than you running back and forth with Whiplash for them. Vyce: Pendulum Swing and Power Chord give your team two distant Strikes, and a whole lot of deadly pressure. Keep note of the passing lanes opening up with Thunderstruck, and 1-2 follow up on any enemies whenever Vyce hits them. Two abilities = Half of a base stagger bar, and can easily take an enemy forward out. This offensive pressure is suuuper safe, and you can leverage this ability to move up whenever you get these 3v2 situations. X: Brawl brawl brawl. Just watch when you PS/DT, as you could easily knock them away from X's Bell Ringer, and keep in mind on ending your Recast early if it means hitting an enemy and restarting their Stagger regen timer. Zentaro: Brawl brawl brawl. Same as X, but don't be afraid to pull enemies towards the edges with DT, even if it doesn't Stagger them. Zentaro with any of the big three (Super Surge, prefered, obvs.), allows Zentaro to act within his range and heavily pressure the enemy. Finii: You can angle for such easy kills if she lands Double Take on enemies, and you need to capitalize on these opportunities. Recognize when she has control of the Core so you can selfishly rain your abilities into the enemy who got him by Double Take. Otherwise, whenever she uses Big Finish, don't be afraid to use Whiplash's Recast to help Finii out and push the core in an angle towards the enemy goal; You have a Recast and a Strike, and can beat out any slowed enemies who are trying to deny the Ultimate.
@@ChartreuseProxy thanks so much! Now all that’s left to do is find a third person to form a comp team, so again thank you so much for you help! It’s been hard learning Rasmus solo but this guide helped me a lot! I’ll be sure to use these awakenings and strategies more now!
@@SpectralSword I wish you luck on your Rasmus learning, and to your future comp. endeavors! Don't be afraid to tag me on Twitter or so with your future sick plays LOL
You actually inspired me to pick up Rasmus, because the stuff he can do is honestly really cool! I've started the game a few weeks ago and decided to main him, so you really helped me out tons with this! Are the keybinds displayed at the bottom actually the ones you're primarily using, though? For example I don't manage to pass to myself using Death Touch, and I don't manage to hit the core with Pendulum Swing after a strike because the ability casts are too slow, i.e., the abilities always just hit shortly after the core went past. I don't know though if that's a me issue (I'd say I'm klicking left and right click in pretty quick succession at least), a controls issue, an awakening issue, or even a patch since then? Could anyone help me out there?
Always great to hear the new Rasmus mains I'm inspiring with this video~! PS combo, or letting go of D and moving your finger to mash R for Strike-> Death Touch--> Strike, once again assuming you're using the default keybinds. All of these clips were only taken from me a few months in myself with Rasmus at that Diamond-Challenger level, after I've built up all of this muscle memory, and you'll start to feel it out as well the more you get to play Rasmus. Just like you'll feel out the speed Death Touch comes out and the range it covers, so will you figure out the exact timing for 1-2 Pendulum Swings and Self Passes. Hope this helps!
@@fellow_musikWhen it came to all of those examples, I'll be honest, I didn't consider how close or far the core was to me for the PS 1-2 to hit, guess I've put in too many hours and just feel that sweet spot! 😅 But you've got it there, and the additional key is to take your time when lining up the core. If it's already coming your way and nobody's in between the path for you to receive, you can always stall for time and line yourself up to get the guaranteed combo. It's always a viable option rather than immediately striking it away on instinct, like how I waited to line things up against Atlas on the Atlas' Lab clip, since nobody else could contest me as the core passed by. The core is in *your* control to Strike->PS whenever in that situation. Hope this helps out a bit more, and looking forwards to seeing you grind higher and higher~! 💛
Thank you for the compliment, and *No*, Pummelers is not a 100% pick, it's only good in certain situations, like Rasmus on Ai.Mi's app to guarantee more kills. If you aren't playing a character geared towards cheesy K.O.s, then you're much better off taking one of the speed augments as Rasmus (Slick Kicks or Magnetized Soles) to control the Core better, or the brawling gears if you're facing heavy enemy aggression.
@@ChartreuseProxyThanks. This is the best character guide for Omega Strikers I've come across. You could think about making guides for other characters, but it's totally fine if you don't want to. I learned a lot and wanted more you went very in depth.
As a certified Zentaro hater here: Reject Oni Village, embrace Clarion Corp. No but srs unless it's Ai.Mi's app (for obvious reasons), Rasmus sneaks through bans pretty easily unless you're scrimming against teams that know your char, so it's actually pretty free to get him and start practicing at any time~

@@ChartreuseProxy thanks man, I will do!
@@ChartreuseProxy First off, thank you so much for taking the time out of your day to respond!
Ty for the informative vid, was wondering should u always take Pummelers as a fwd?
W guide
this and the zen nerf are making me reaaaaally think ab picking up rasmus as second main
As a certified Zentaro hater here: Reject Oni Village, embrace Clarion Corp.
No but srs unless it's Ai.Mi's app (for obvious reasons), Rasmus sneaks through bans pretty easily unless you're scrimming against teams that know your char, so it's actually pretty free to get him and start practicing at any time~
goated video
Captivating!
Dude, I'm not even halfway through the video, and I really just gotta say this video is absolutely amazing! I love how enthusiastic and entertaining you are explaining Rasmus's abilities, mechanics, and techniques to use to master his toolkit! I have huge respect for players who makes guides for characters but even more so when it's to this depth! I have the rest of the video to watch, but I knew I had to leave a comment! I would love to see what more you'll create for your content! ( ╹▽╹ )
Oh hey! I recognize you CyKer! Your "Competitive Core" video showed up in my feed a week ago and kinda worked me into putting more time into editing this exact video! Thank you for the love on this, it's my first guide ever funny enough, so I'm pretty happy with how it came out, even if there's a lot of footage I trimmed out for keeping the video at a digestible length.
I'll see what more I feel like creating for content past my current VODs though! Kinda taking my nice little own vacation after three weeks of editing this... LOL
@@ChartreuseProxy Haha, I'm glad that I could push you to get more editing done (even if it was just a little!) I don't blame you for taking a nice break after something like this, because this takes a lot of effort to do! I'll be on the lookout to see what you come up with in the future! :)
The first thing I learned there is the whiplash on him xD
