Yeah, lots of Tom Verlaine in there. I've been a Nels fan for decades, but I didn't realize how much until Tom died a few months ago and I went on a TV binge. Nels is one of the masters.
Sad there’s not more updated talk on Wilco’s equipment but happy to discuss it here! Awesome to see Nels’ old Marshall JTM45 offset reissue that he started off with making an appearance again. It’s the same cab he used with the Schroeder head, no?
I was so much older then, I’m younger than that now. This is one of those songs that touches my heart and soul. American Tango by Weather Report. Mima Mounds by the Jazz Avengers. Impossible Germany. The lead break by Nels just transports me. It’s musical perfection. Shalom
Where is the Riviera Theater? Nice version. I have been listening to every live version I can. It's cool to hear how each version is a little different. Nels really varies the solo here more than usual. Paces himself and doesn't try to cram in as many notes as usual. As well, I can hear him so clearly here. Is Nels wearing shoes without socks in cold weather? (Talking Heads reference...)
Good save Flock of Seagulls guy,,no disrespect Mr.Tweedy.Saw the boys at the Horde Festival,Los Angeles,Ca. 1993 I believe. They were the opening band, right before Blues Traveler and with Ziggy Marley and family.I was center stage front, and watched as Jeff and the band get booed and heckled, while playing pretty good.Eventually , about three songs in they vacated.Kinda sad, I wasn't looking forward to hearing them live.Peace and stay safe.
Just realized how much Tom Verlaine there is in Nels' guitar work here. Great stuff.

He’s on the record saying the instrumental section was his idea and it was a deliberate “let’s do a Television” thing.
Great video…thanks for this 👏
Man, you were close! Thanks! Been looking for streams/videos of these shows.
Love how the camera mic is picking up Nels' amp on top of everything else.
He’s standing right in the speaker’s kill zone. Brave soul.
Beautiful
Absolutely love Wilco, thank you so much for posting this and the others!
Absolutely incredible solo
Boy! Nels really gave it the what-for in this one! He had something to say to someone.
Jesus, incredible !
Transcendent!
Nels, baby. 🤘
You got the coolest Wilco vids. Now!

Fantastic
2023, the year Jeff looked the same age as Nels.

Pure
I'm going to go ahead and assume Jeff Tweedy doesn't own an Iron.
@dotsgreykeeping things clean doesn't change anything really does it?
