  • Here is a SHORTIE Parker Vacumatic Quick Repair.
Viewer Dustin had purchased this 1945 Parker Vacumatic Silver Pearl from me fully restored. When he generously sent me a small vial of Vaness White Lightning ink additive, he included the Parker Vacumatic because he said it wouldn't fill. I took a look and fixed it.

Very nice repair and explanation of the problem. Glad you are one of the few that stands behind your work. So rare these days.

This is a very fiddly job masterly executed.
    Thank you.

I got to meet Scott from The Inky Nib at the Columbus Pen Show. Despite not owning a Parker of any description, we chatted for a good ten minutes because I recognized his purpose built tools from them getting shouted out during your Pen Resurrection Sundays. He spoke highly of you and appreciates the visibility you give to vintage repairs (and his tools).
I ended up buying a vintage pen at the show, and am about to start dipping my toes into the vintage pens and repairs, though I'm starting with lever fill sac pens for now.

Awesome! I’m always curious how to figure out what age pens are

Very nice! I didn't fully realize your were in the restoration business (duh! I should have! You post resurrection videos).

I used to sell my restored pens through Facebook until FB disallowed anyone outside of the US.

Very sorry to hear that. I used to be proud to be a US Citizen but some of our political actions and those of near monopolies (looking at you, FB and X) have tarnished that.@@InkquiringMinds

I'm very tempted to get a few unrestored vintage pens to restore myself. It would certainly be less painful to my wallet now that I've gone hurting down the vintage fountain pen rabbithole! Your videos make it seem pretty straightforward. Any tips for a noob restorer? 🤔

Thank you so much, @MrCabimero! I got mine from the Inky Nib, but you can also get it at Goulet Pens www.gouletpens.com/products/goulet-silicone-grease

I love Vacuumatic pens but they do need TLC from time to time.

In the UK, White Lightning is a notorious cheap and nasty cider, which I suspect is only marginally worse to drink than the cleaning fluid of the same name 😉

They call it “Screech” in Newfoundland.

I don't know how you can remove a Vacumatic pump without a special tool without damage.
