  • Living abroad can be an incredibly rewarding experience, but it's not uncommon to struggle with loneliness, especially when you're far from home.
In this video, I'll provide helpful tips on how to overcome loneliness while living in the Netherlands. We'll explore ways to build a strong support network by connecting with fellow expats, locals, and joining expat communities. I'll also share ideas for getting involved in local activities and exploring new hobbies that can help you feel more connected to your surroundings. Whether you're in a major city like Amsterdam or a smaller town, these strategies will help you make meaningful connections, reduce feelings of isolation, and fully embrace your new life abroad.

Aww you're so beautiful, I've been living in Europe for a while and I've found so difficult to connect deeply with the people around, as I was looking the same as you, friends from all around the world and to learn more about the world itself works from another perspective while living abroad. But at the same time I've been discovering myself through this journey being in solitude, and its so rewarding too find all that you can achieve and the gifts that you discover about yourself that can serves other people in the world like you, you must be so proud of you about all that you're are doing and also you're helping other people who feels like you and are in the same situation. So thank you so much for exist, I appreciate to connect with beautiful souls like you at least through RUclips.
All the best wishes in this project its so interesting and I hope one day can be able to change countries and go to live to the Netherlands :).

Something stood out.. and perhaps it's related to the Russian culture and how you were raised (I wholeheartedly agree with you on how powerful family relationships can be), but every single time that I come back home.. I make a conscious effort to not be sad about what I missed, but to celebrate the changes with my mother.
A simple "ey, that looks awesome, when did you get this/that done?".. it's mental trickery, but so homesickness and the feeling that you missed out on things/time.
My mother is little older now.. 75 next year, and I noticed that the time I spend away from her doing "my own thing" is as valuable as spending time with her. Cause she's doing her thing still, quite actively.
Allow yourself to feel grateful, curious and eager.
Ooh.. and start working at an airport like me.. that whole emotional thing about airports is gone REAL quick! Us, who work at airports are just cattle ranchers, and you people that will be flying are the cattle :) (nice, friendly, and very welcome, but still.. cattle to be herded into planes :P)

I think you are talking about mindset and how powerful one's attitude can be. Thank you for sharing and for watching this video!

Yes, but also sharing @@theselfishcodependent .. and sharing your own observations is (again) a silly trick that helps not only you but the people around you too. don't thank me, thank you :)

I just moved to The Netherlands. A lot has happened in 3 months. It’s not easy but is it ever? I’m hoping things get a bit easier for us both.

For me homesickness isn't even related to a place. It's related to relations and experiences. That's what home is for me.

I don't think it's a solution. If it was that simple and solved the problem, everyone would have already followed this advice.
