What about overcoming isometric training? I think it is a great tool to regain control over your body, strengthen muscles and increase their flexibility, strengthen joints and tendons. Thanks to this type of training, I feel much better in my body, I improved my strength results (even after two months without a gym), I got rid of pain in the shoulder joint and my range of motion increased. I think it will also help you maintain a healthy body throughout your life.
Josh you are really great. I totally agree with your points and i love your videos. Thank you deeply and please keep on doing that forever. As always. ✌
You have inspired a 50 year old depressed and almost suicidal fat and lazy guy to move and set goals to become flexible, lose 20kgs and work towards doing 7 muscle ups. THANK YOU both so much. 🙏🏽
You are a picture of health. I was taught to practice these exercise since I was a kid and I do these motions daily specially early morning at waking up before my daily long walk. I am 70 still hiking mountain weekend and long hours daily walk without any problem or joint pain. My problem is that I could never find a fitness partner for hiking (all day on weekends) because no one can keep up with me, and always alone enjoying nature that sometimes is a concern. Well I enjoy so much nature and being strongly active that I won't give up for any reason. Thank you for sharing your knowledge that is very beneficial to the world 💕
I'm 63. I really like what you write and you are 100% right. I think, It's okay to practice, hike and run on your own. There simply aren't so many fit people left at a certain age. It would be nice to find a partner but I realized that doing it on my own gives me more freedom to do what i want :)
For every athlete this could be one of the most important videos in RUclips to get a fundamental new insight to training and overall health. 3 or 4 conventional workouts or training sessions per week are important but can't repair the punishment that our body takes from of our 24/7 sedentary lifestyle. Doing short small exercises distributed over the day can be a gamechanger.
Yes deffinetly! Listen to your body and not burning it off. Just doing now small things and cool stuff like Basketball etc.. This is the real definition of Fitness.
I love this channel. The content is excellent, and the presenters are some of the best I have seen on RUclips. You guys are so chilled out it makes me smile!
Thank You Young Man, 2 months into my bodyweight training to maintain this 64-year-old body and I needed this easy stretch or meditation component. Thank You for your time and energy.
Another banger, I have been doing one of your 15 min morning full body stretches for over a year now. Nothing has helped my flexibility and well being more. The simplicity of your routines and showing these movements is something I share with my friends and helps me mentally get present shift my mindset or start the day off strong. This new Tai chi flow is nice I love the under 10 min quick vids! Appreciate you bro keep it comin thank you
I’m 62, and I love the approach you suggest, as I make mine, to feel, to be in connection with body and breath, in a way of everyday life. More spiritual, more love, more efficiency. Suddenly I have the time to.
so I often have them days of ADHD paralysis and when I get out of them my workout motivation is totally lost, I don't remember why I love working out, it's like I've never worked out in my entire life, but after I watch your vids it all comes back and I start again. Thank you!
Great content! I try to do five minutes of easy movement every 25 minutes when working at my computer. This is in addition to my longer daily callisthenic workout and an hour of walking. I’m 55 and getting leaner, stronger, and fitter every year!
I love that your message is always focused on health and happiness. Who knew you could teach people to be strong by asking them to let themselves be happy and comfortable? Form follows function!
This is AWESOME! Thanks Josh - this is like one of the most positive and life affirming movement channels out there - if not THE best one of them all. You and Trevor are the most accessible, easy going, peaceful vibe fitness folks out there. No fancy trendy shit - just straight ahead ‘how to feel better in your body’ type of instruction and approach! 🙌🙏🙌🙏🙌
Another fantastic video. I am 66 and intuitively started doing this a few years ago. Even though I was lifting, running, cycling I didn’t feel as good in my body as I thought that I should. When (inspired by you guys) I began doing animal flow a few years ago I realized that I could move in other ways just for the joy of moving and I feel so much better for doing that. I would add some turning moves upright on your feet. As I got older I noticed a real degradation of balance and proprioception. So now I spin like a kid trying to make himself dizzy. I also do as many tasks as possible standing on one foot. My balance has improved 👍 Thank you again!
What you share in this video is excellent, especially for the younger people who are led to mistake a certain aesthetic prototype with health. A famous Spanish ex-footballer was very accurate when he said that most athletes have good photography and bad radiography. And there is something about moving the body, joints particularly, in a moderate, continuous flow, and connect it with breath, that immediatly creates a form of energy that feels like an inner warm fluid lubricating your body and soul.
You're so articulate in talking about this stuff that I really love it. I do this every morning after I get up because I'm 55 and scared of losing my flexibility and looking my age... would love to share a cup of green tea or black tea with you one day. In the meantime- keep doing what you do.
Curling the spine! You get some of that with your arm rotations and toe touches, but I find it immensely helpful to use a movement I discovered in a Pilates class. While seated with your legs straight out in front of you, curl down without reaching forward. The idea is not to touch your toes, but to round your back as much as possible. Then, roll back up to upright, with hands raised to straighten your newly stretched-out spine. Feels great! I do it all the time.
As an ex physiotherapist and much older than many, I still do a lot of physical work on my 5 acres. I find gym training and my training as a masters swimmer hard on my body. At night before going to bed, I find doing these types of exercises that you show are the best complement to my body and mind. I really love your approach for simple but vital exercises to maintain mobility. I simply find most exercise programs do not help me as I have ADHD and find everything boring or hurtful due to placing too much stress on joints. Thank you!
I came to the same conclusion about the importance of just movement. My favourite activity for this is sword and staff spinning. Kung-fu and Cossack style. Great mobility, gets your blood flowing, complex hand coordination is also great for brain development, and it’s a lot of fun.
My partner sent this video to me. We were discussing my limitations because of medical issues and not being able to build muscle. He then sent me this video. I am excited about. Will keep you informed on my progress. Thank you
Just came across this amazing video. This set is so accessible and I love way you encourage gentle, intentional movement over power. Just the message I need right now. Thanks!
As a middle aged, life long manual laborer(landscaping and furniture delivery when I was young, then till now a carpenter) I cannot tell you the value of these types of movements and flows. I first learned about this stuff from Paul Chek, he calls it “working in” which I do everyday before I check in with myself to see if I have the energy to “work out” before my days work. I will be adding that lower body flow you did, I do those movements all day every day in a utility sense while wearing my tool vest and holding tools, but not in a sense of repair. This might be another game changer for me. Thank you for putting this together.
I’m 56 and just want to let you know that I love your videos. I’ve progressed from my 13 year old daughters dancing stretch routine (and her strict supervision 😂) for a full body stretch and strengthening routine based on your work. My body feels as young as when I was in my twenties after three years of paying attention to its flexibility and strength through movement. Thanks. Your channel is inspiring ❤️
I would highly reccomend beginning every fitness session (be it yoga, jogging, some strength workout or tai-chi) with breathing exercises. 5 to 10 minutes. When i started practicing breathing before any fitness session, the results amazed me. For me it was like a premeditation. You breath, you increase your lungs capacity, you feed your brain & your body with oxygen, you literally charge yourself with energy, and you enter the 'flow' state. So almost every session turns out to be smooth, effective and joyful.
I love the positivity and the deeply content smiles you guys have. It's contagious, I simply feel good and relaxed after each video. I would probably add some light, standing back bends to the list.
"Making myself feel comfortable and safe" I think this is the biggest thing which is least often talked about, the body opens when it feels safe but its no good just when on the mat stretching if as soon as your walking or working you tense up, need to carry it into everything and it's hard! Love the channel brother
I am starting back my health journey and glad i found this channel. I was confused but decided that I will practice Yoga for atleast 6 months before starting weight training this time. And this video affirms how important it is to manage body's flexibility, taking care of joints and being able to master natural body movements (like Squat or kneel). Hatts off, great content. Going to watch and follow along.
Oh wow, just came across this video and love it! I have never been an active/athletic person but as I age I realized how important is to keep ones health by doing some sort of physical activity. All you guys mention and show in this video makes a lot of sense, thank you both for creating this channel and much success and health to you both!
Good stuff. I would add light skipping. Light and frequent plyometric contacts is a sure way build a solid base to absorb impact. We don’t move in air. We move against ground and gravity.
_Great_ video! I’ve been calling these sorts of things “Movement Snacks” that we can do throughout the day to keep our bodies and minds flowing and not stagnant! ☀️🌊
Thank you! I have never been flexible even when I was kid. I was super active as a kid but never flexible. I used to do pilates as an adult & that worked for my body for strength & flexibility at the time. Did tai chi briefly. Now these movements you are teaching I actually enjoy doing. I have always hated the gym, prefer walking, riding my bike. Love the bear crawl & I needed the morning routine which I enjoy doing also. It is helpful that the videos are shorter in length, something that can be maintained. Thanks again!
Hi Josh.. your new subscriber...Iam 52 and over the years i have formatted a workout routine. I use all your routine minus the "hang" which iam going to add.. really love your concept.. people laugh at me when i tell them i have a morning stretch and strength routine and evening is cardio... Iam not as well built as you..but i feel very very good with what i do...your new subscriber and very happy to join you and learn new stuff from you... Sending you loads of love and positive energies from India 💕💕💕💕 I am going to sequence the first 4 in my routine..loved it..
Good good good. I have been doing many of these intuitively due to being a mom and "living on the floor" for almost 10 yrs now. Interesting intertwining of human realities: embodiment and care taking.
The videos have been monumental on recovering from injury and progressing in feeling better and just going outside and walking. Thank you for all the comprehensive material. Cheers
I havnt gone to the gym or lifted weights the last few years and I had back surgery 3 years ago and everything in the video is the same things I have been doing the last 3 years to take it easy on my spine and it helps alot
the start of this routine feels similar to the morning yoga routine, but this is more accessible - turning the movements into a routine felt really good this morning. Thank you! I added a reverse back stretch, chataranga to upward dog as an offset to squat and that felt good. REALLY got alot out of the rotational bent knees hip thing at 4:28. Great work on this channel!
This is so simple yet effective, it also helps so much people that are now starting or have been working on specific muscle groups ignoring the overall mobility of the body, this channel is priceless 👍
I love this channel and recommend to many of my clients. Another way to help focus on breathe is to visualize bringing breathe into belly up to diaphragm into lungs, empty lungs, clear out diaphragm and out through belly. Just a suggestion works well with my clients to relax them. I have another point but I don’t want to be that nit picky person. Love the videos.
more inspiration (names of the movements): spinal waves, moving the toes, tea cups, side bend, crab/desk, hands clasped behind the back, archer squats, standing on one leg. secret tip: moving intuitively (with music)
This is a great and reaffirming video. I do about half of the moves here each morning. I really like the message about getting blood flow into the join rather than thinking only of pushing flexibility. Getting joints lubbed up and warm with some blood flow and motion is a great idea.
☀🌸I'm 33 yrs old I've been doing these mobility exercices along with stretching sessions for 2 years now. I've NEVER felt so good in my body (close people around me are actually seeing it wondering whats going on with me) . Actually I feel much better than my skinny unawared-of-his-body 19yrs old self. This added to a Bio, Healthy eating routine is truly incredible.
I am so happy I finally found something that I can fit in my day before my running. It really helps loosening all joints.....I have been doing some stretching exercises but your routine and simplicity is so wonderful. Easy to fit every day. I can't thank you enough. 💫👍🤸
Something that you've never mentioned but I have found fantastic for upper-body strength as well as core is the one-minute pushup. I learned this from Systema (Russian martial art). It overcomes the disadvantages of both plank (because it is full range of motion) and fast pushups (because it avoids the "cheating" that comes from momentum and energy being stored in the elasticity of the muscles).
These are legit good! I like to also put palms on knees in squat position and push inwards +resist or pushoutwards+resist. Some forward leans also with rounded back> This kind of stuff saves you as you get older... The way he showed the reaching and bending back with the engagement ... that is GOLDEN. I hope people see the demonstrations ... from lifters to just old people
Enjoy doing movement hip rotation especially after resistance work out with elastic bands. Recently learned fingers and facial exercise, they are great too. 🙏📖😇
You have articulated what was in my mind but hadn't yet reached a real definition. Cartilage and tendons love frequent low intensity/resistance stuff, and bonus: your mind likes it too Great principle man!
Great insight. Learned this from doing Tai Chi beginner workout. It started with a workout that went over every joint from head to toe. Simply from this I learned the benefit of martial arts.
Thank you so much for this one! I super appreciate this content as your look on fitness is something i really connect with, paired with your calm and soothing voiceover is a very fun experience to learn to grow from, physically and mentally Keep it up king💪
I love this channel, and he's definitely on the right lines here. But if you want a more systematic and fully developed approach to lubricating the joints, I can recommend Scott Sonnon's Intu-flow method, and the related "free to Move" book. Many of the videos are available on RUclips. It's not perfect, but it's the best starting point I've found and I'm gradually incorporating some other ideas as I discover them.
Amazing video, very inspirational indeed! I'm already following your knee routines, which I modified to fit for me. Massive improvement from the first set of movements. For example, in one Saturday morning I was not able to walk because of my knee injury, then doing your best knee&hip movements, I recovered just like that! I was able to do cycling about 45km in the same day and then doing some squats with my body weight. It is amazing, from no walking situation to almost fully recovered. I have been following your routines since then and I will follow until I have my own way of movements, thanks a lot! People, why don't you make yourself a favor and try some of these great movements...
I really like the way you explain this process.given place to begin from any level .A wise and friendly way to teaching .very inspiring and real . Thank you very much. Following you from Israel.
This is great. I love the idea of opening up the joints more. I play drums and one of the things we used to do to open up but also strengthen the wrist is to hold two drumsticks placed end to end, right in the middle and then twist back and forth in a kind of propellor motion. I always enjoyed how that made my wrists feel. You probably won't do it for too long but it's a good one too. Any kind of long thin stick would work if you want to give it a try
Pelvic rotations. I stretch every morning and night bc of the work I do and my age; but inserted into my "must do" routine is a the low-intensity movement of pelvic rotations. Occasionally at work I take moments to stretch etc. but pelvic rotations look so lude I kinda hide. But it is a movement that helps a lot. Hanging and full spine roller lays as well.
If you could add a low intensity movement to this list, what would it be? Let us know below ⬇️

Bro...I sooooo love your work...You give such loving advise...I feel compelled to follow whatever you say...Just wonderful...
Great moves!
This is a great and reaffirming video. I do about half of the moves here each morning. I really like the message about getting blood flow into the join rather than thinking only of pushing flexibility. Getting joints lubbed up and warm with some blood flow and motion is a great idea.
I will try this out over a time period and see what happens - I got some hope in this to relief my pain
Awesome clip in arrifana beach algarve, portugal...welcome...had you surf already :)

The video ive needed but not searched for. Great !!
I am so happy I finally found something that I can fit in my day before my running. It really helps loosening all joints.....I have been doing some stretching exercises but your routine and simplicity is so wonderful. Easy to fit every day. I can't thank you enough. 💫👍🤸
my new hockey warmup, did it last night, felt awesome. Thanks my man!
An excellent intro to soft movement that is essential for health and body integration. Well done!
Thank you very much.
I'm so happy to be able learn with you 💫
These are legit good! I like to also put palms on knees in squat position and push inwards +resist or pushoutwards+resist. Some forward leans also with rounded back>
This kind of stuff saves you as you get older...
The way he showed the reaching and bending back with the engagement ... that is GOLDEN. I hope people see the demonstrations ... from lifters to just old people
Great movements. Sure will pratice them. Thank you for sharing🙏
Thanks. Great routine. Trying all your DAILY PRACTICE routines.
Yeah thanks - yoga (joints and glands) + pranayama! Sounds fantastic as your own discovery !
3:46 we did these back when I was training boxing. My legs felt so refreshed and capable afterwards
I do resting squats and horse stance as part of my mobility routine, both have helped me.
Man oh man! Thanks for the share brother! Awesome!
Enjoy doing movement hip rotation especially after resistance work out with elastic bands. Recently learned fingers and facial exercise, they are great too. 🙏📖😇
Portugal is just so beautiful 😀 I'll work with these flows, thanx!
What a beautiful way to reframe things.
Nourishing your body....beautiful.
You have articulated what was in my mind but hadn't yet reached a real definition. Cartilage and tendons love frequent low intensity/resistance stuff, and bonus: your mind likes it too
Great principle man!
Great insight. Learned this from doing Tai Chi beginner workout. It started with a workout that went over every joint from head to toe. Simply from this I learned the benefit of martial arts.
Thank you so much for this one!
I super appreciate this content as your look on fitness is something i really connect with, paired with your calm and soothing voiceover is a very fun experience to learn to grow from, physically and mentally
Keep it up king💪
I want to say a very big thank u. More Power
One of his best
Instantly liked when he said 'stay within your comfort zone' 🙌🙌
Solid. Dig the perspectives 💪 thanks Josh
Appreciate you guys. Many many thanks.
I will try your program and then after I will comment or evaluate my experiences. Thank you.
I love this video. I added standing on one leg. Great for balance
Awesome video as always. I really appreciate all of your content, guys. Thank you.
Love this!! So useful and simple. Thank you. 👍🏼👍🏼🙏🏽🙏🏽
Awesome stuff, love your energy. Very humble.
Well that is a lot of what I heard from a Yogi and a Shaolin warrior monk, and I know you know. Thanks for being one more good example of health
