I am Italian chef, I will give you one of my recipes to fully enjoy cod fish. In the pan, olive oil, frozen cod, chopped yellow onion, salt, pepper, garlic powder, oregano, a little chilli powder "the spices should only be put on the fish" add cherry tomatoes, half a cup of water and a splash of olive oil olive on top, turn on medium high heat and place a lid. Let it cook for 15 minutes, add a cup of tomato puree and gently mix with the existing sauce, lower the heat for three minutes then turn off. Let it rest for five minutes and then eat...
I recently purchased this same cod from Costco. It was terrible! While it didn't have the "fishy" taste or smell, it was the toughest piece of fish I ever had. A consistency I have NEVER had in cod. Much more chewy, firm and meaty, similar to mahi only tougher. And no, I didn't overcook it. Tried it 2 separate times to make sure it wasn't me. Exact same results, both were tough, unlike cod. It was caught and sealed overseas with no oversight as to what type of fish it might actually be. I imagine they change suppliers from time to time or seasonally. As of August "24, it may be labeled cod but it wasn't at this time.
Thanks for the review. I don't think cod should have a fishy smell, though. It really shouldn't smell like anything before cooking it. Did you notice whether it smelled before you cooked it?
Oh man…I’ve been searching. Buying, tossing and searching more for a good store bought tarter. Most taste chemically or just super bad. I love that brand’s mustards. Served in a lot of good restaurants. My husband also loved the mustards made by this brand.
chef dawg is the best channel on the platform
Your nice thx you

I agree.... it's been too long for me to remember
Sounds good🤣 love you chefdawg♥️
I just got a bag and I need to learn how to cook it lol
Yep…. Overcooked however best cod ever is from Costco. This granny has been baking it for years and find it’s delicious.
Thx for watching
Is it farm raised
They say it's wild-caught Alaska Pacific cod
Do you remember how many packs came in the bag? Great review!
This is Chef Momma…I think only 4 packs.
Thanks, I'm happy you enjoyed it. There were 4 bags
You should have saved the butter and garlic sauce for dipping, as long as you don't burn the garlic. Fat (butter) is flavor!
Great idea
Cheers-been doing this and the equivalent salmon for a long time. Fast. Affordable. Season 2 taste! Keep chefn-_
Enjoy!
Cod’s only good for two things: bodybuilding and fish n chips. There’s no middle ground.
I'm with you on that
ooooh Fish n Chips!!! Yup!!!
You can do fish tacos as well. Blackened cod as good too. It's all about technique.
What non fishy fish do you recommend from Costco?
Halibut is my favorite
That could have hurt! At least coming out! Lol😂
😆
