Miyako goes from piano to guitar shredding (crushing that solo too) and singing backing vocals. I love her so much. That girl is something special. I mean they all are but Miyako is outstanding. Making metal beautiful again, that is Lovebites. Gotta love it
Love your comments on mastery and relaxation. People often ask how these tiny women can put out so much thunder, and a big part of it is their economy of movement. Haruna, the drummer, can go toe-to-toe with any of the big brutes in typical male metal bands, and she barely looks like she's trying. That efficiency is also why they can do a two hour concert at that pace and never look worn out.

lovebites are the best. they are on hiatus at the moment, since bassplayer miho left, singer asami and "cool" guitarist miyako married their partners recently and miyako had her baby. we all hope they will be back. there are some signals for that in their last video "nameless warrior". I bet miyako is already composing new stuff.
another japanese all female metalband with so much potential is "Nemophila". I recommend their official musicvideos of "Oiran" or "Hynosis" for the start. thank you for this fine and skillful reaction/analysis.

Another great reaction Valerie!. Been stopping by awhile but this one got me to sub. Asami was originally a backup R&B/Soul singer, and her growth both as a vocalist and the amazing Stage General she has become is very interesting to watch (Lovebites only formed in 2016). Her voice has always sounded great on recordings, but early in Lovebites live stage shows it would tend to break down by the end of the show. I believe she has worked VERY HARD to improve her control and vocal stamina, and the difference started to really show in the 2020 5 of a Kind tour. In one video of the group before a show, she is sucking on something that looks like a small glass with a small straw in it, and it seemed like she might be using it for her voice, pre-performance? If you notice she often turns away from the crowd during the guitar solos and reaches for something on the drum stage (water?) before she turns back. Anyhoo, I'll be looking out for your future videos. As a 73 y/o ex singer-songwriter I seem to have to constantly work to keep my vibrato from 'stretching' (Remember elder Roy Rogers and Dale singing 'Happy trai ai ai ails to you'?) That will NOT be me :o)

So glad that you checked it out. We fans always really enjoy your reactions to Lovebites. Now the three songs you have reacted to are all on the slower and less intense side of things, because they are more fitting for a vocal analysis. But these ladies can go super hard and fast as well. Holy War (live) is a bit more intense and a strong vocal showcase at the same time.
Great reaction. One of my favorites of their concert “Daughters of the Dawn” in 2019. My favorite band at this moment. Got the Blu-ray of the concert. Think they are amazing. As far as I know, they are not breaking up. Thank you for this reaction.

Joy, passion and incredible energy shine from them every live performance. They have incredible musical talent. I love this fantastic band too. Even though bassist Miho left this band, I'm sure that when the time comes and the band returns to the stage with the new bassist, they will still be among the best metal bands in the world. Hellooo. I love that you react to this band, they have a huge talent. If the songs of Lovebites, powermetal, trashmetal, hard rock, classic rock have something, it is that they are all very well structured and worked. The magnificent voice of Asami always stands out and the guitars of Midori and Miyako (piano too), I don't want to forget Miho and Haruna, spectacular with bass and drums. Songs that I suggest "A frozen serenade", "Liar" studio live, "Scream for me" and a work of art, "Epilogue" live 2019, it is a ballad, but what a ballad. A big hug. I forgot "Rising" a spectacular song and video clip

I think, these values are correct, although given values are sometimes varying. Funny enough, that you have a "?" at Midori's height, as this is the only value, that is actually confirmed by herself (1.50m / 4'11")...
They aren't breaking up yes Miho stepped down as the bass but has told her fans to stick by Lovebites and support them she had personal family issues come up I think she lost her father to covid.
No she lost her father some years ago (at least 3 years ago, well before Covid), before Clockwork Immortality was released (Dec 2018). She composed Journey to the Otherside as a tribute to him.

but we don't talk about it out of respect for the girls and out of respect for Miho who has the great merit of having founded this wonderful band

Great reaction but honestly, pick anything from these women especially LIVE and you will never be disappointed!! They know only one way to perform, FLAWLESS PERFECTION, that is because they are in the relentless pursuit of perfection and they practice, despite the insane talent, with just as much intensity and drive. Practice everything till it is perfect especially LIVE. Each piece of this band is just crazy great but together those pieces make for a sum even greater, which is due to their total in sync playing. Been around since 2017 yet they sound like a band decades together, especially LIVE. Some other LIVE songs you should try are Rising (ruclips.net/video/5LT-WhFGsPE/видео.html), put on the Captions for the lyrics which are inspiring to say the least. Petite women who can smoke any other metal band despite playing in gowns/dresses and high heels. "Women can't play Metal" that is from a person who never listened to J/Metal and all the great female bands that dominate that scene.

They are in vain of 80's Power/Trash metal like Iron Maiden and Metallica here in U.S. But sing about positive things. Miyako was trained as a classical pianist since the age of 3. Only picking the guitar at 18, she is self taught. She is the composer of the group while Asami writes most of lyrics. You haven't listened to any of Power Metal songs, "Shadow Maker" official MV, is a good one.
