    Harimoto is one of the fastest players. However, he was playing against a player who is two grads faster than him. Usually, speedy Lin either commit too much unforced errors or has a mental breakdown to negate his speed advantage. This time, neither happened. Lin was lightening fast while hitting almost all the shots and Harimoto was doomed.

    Harimoto has been playing on the world circuits since he was 15 years old and it seems that his game hasn't evolved at all. His forehand is still weak and his backhand only works on the table. Impossible to dispute backhand with Gaoyuan, I would say it is one of the 5 best backhands today. Still, Harimoto has room to improve but he seems to be a player that no other player is afraid of

    • @lots_of_numbers7580
      @lots_of_numbers7580 26 дней назад +6

      Nah, Harimoto has improved a lot recently actually. Feel free to argue, but his forehead first opening has became much better, and he has developed a very smart and efficient backhand block, where he changes the paste and focus on tempo and placement. His backhand only works close to the table cuz he chooses to play like this. There's no problem with that honestly. You saying his forehead is still weak, but you can't really go from a backhand player to a forehead player, that's not how table tennis works. You should be good at things that wins you points and mask weaknesses as much as possible. Good example of that is Zhang Jike's forehand, it's never his strongest side, and not the prettiest honestly, but it functions enough to win him games most of the time. Also Harimoto has gone through the tough highschool in Japan, and got pretty decent grades into university it seems.
      On the other hand, Lin is just a superb player. He's techniques is definitely one of if not the fastest, and the only factor limited him was his mental games, but the 4th game has clearly shown that hes has that improved recently.

    • @raymondlu3944
      @raymondlu3944 26 дней назад +1

      Not so much about him not improving, it’s more about he’s mental game, he seems to lack the fearlessness that he had when he first came onto the circuit. And also modern day technology, there’s more game analytics that come into play and more people are working him out, and there haven’t been any drastic changes to he’s game

    Thnx ITTF for this camera angle!
    I think Harimotos tecniques needs some alterations. Taking the ball early is very adventageous but also very risky. The reliability of this shot is very low and this results in very fluctuating performances. May be the table and moisture in the environment changes the balls bounce resulting in unforced errors. His blocking tecnique is very unique and fun to watch but he must have a mid range classical attacker style too or combine these two. I am not sure whether LG was very good or TH was bad.

    Harimoto seems to have not progressed much since his childhood. Perhaps it's because he has grown too tall? In any case, his speed and power are not very impressive. His characteristic counterattacks are also something his opponents have prepared for, so it seems his competitiveness on the world stage has significantly decreased. Hang in there, Harimoto.

    Harimoto chỉ có một lối đánh, lối đánh dựa vào ưu thế tốc độ phản xạ (Harimoto còn trẻ mà). Điều gì sẽ xảy ra nếu như Harimoto không còn trẻ? Ăn hành là điều cái chắc
