  • Today we're looking at the Neewer FS150B 130W Bi-Colored light! I had the privilege of taking this light out on a recent project with my friend and Director ‪@JustusStew‬ for a mini doc of his highlighting recording artist ‪@mannytorresmusic‬ in Chicago. Throughout the weekend of shooting I was able to push the capabilities of this budget-friendly light and gather some great intel on why I believe it could be a great option for you! In full transparency, Neewer did offer to sponsor this video, however, they did not see it before upload and the thoughts stated about this light are my own. Enjoy!

Very nice review!!! Do you think it would appropriate for an interview, I am referring to the fan noise... I am also looking at the GODOX UL150 (fanless) but it is not at the same price point. Thanks for any feedback!

Thank you for the kind words!
I believe it's perfect for an interview. As a matter of fact, the BTS that you're seeing is from the interview we did with Manny(the talent) for his short doc. Hope that helps and good luck!🙏🏼

Great review. I'm wondering your thoughts on pairing this with Neewer's Lantern Softbox to light a kitchen studio for youtube videos. Will need this to light the "personality" (me), not just a top down view. Thanks.

Thanks for the feedback! I actually use a lantern paired with this light for all of my YT talking head as well as many client projects. The cool thing with lanterns is you can skirt them in order to dial in the direction of your light spread.

I’ve currently got a 60w neewer 168 pannel liight but I want to use a light with a softbox. I’m not sure if the 150B will be overkill for my small studio. Would the 70w CB60B be better?

This is a great question! Here's my personal take and what i've learned in my experience thus far: if you've got the budget, get the most power you can afford. A powerful light can always be turned down, but a light thats not powerful enough cant be turned up. With that, I used a 60W in studio for a long time and for single subjects it's fine. Thanks so much for the support!
