@Abdullah H... The first note that most piano players are taught to find on a piano is Middle C. Finding Middle C is really just a test of whether you have had ANY piano/keyboard training. Would it be better if he asked for Middle B# ? ;)

After my teacher taught me middle C, she threw me right into a piece to play. It was grueling and left me feeling depressed EVERY Saturday afternoon! After weeks of this I'd rather take a beating than have her at my side while I trudged along. No title in English. Years later I shared what happened. How I love watching others play but felt a weird repulsion to put my hands on piano keys. Turned out the song is The Death March. My piano teacher must have had a sick, twisted mind!

When i was a child, playing outside in the neighborhood, usually up a tree with friends, I could hear my Mom playing the piano. She opened the sliding doors to the pool area. The music carried. My friends said, "There goes your mom again 🎶" It was cool. So much Joy and gusto for life exuded in this music. Peace 🕊🇦🇹🇺🇸
I've been watching so much of your videos lately that I feel like it's a perfect time to bring up my great grandmas old piano from downstairs and dust it off and learn to play Boogie Woogie now that I have nothing else to really do since I'm in quarantine. 🎹 I used to play it when I was younger but as I grew older I kinda got lazy so I'll probably have to relearn some of it.
Hello Dr. K! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you. I really enjoy watching these videos and I wanted to know your opinion on the following: how could I start learning the piano from scratch? Should I use an online tutor/app or go with my local teacher? I'm based out of Russia. How to choose a proper local teacher?, and I believe that I'll have to have a piano at home. Maybe some basic synthesizer....or what? Any suggestions are very much appreciated.
This is so much fun to watch the reactions of these girls when the piano player goes all out playing “boggie-woggie”! He acts like a total novice at first and then cuts loose to show his true playing skill level.
Boogie started in the 1870s, took over popular music in the 1920s. I guess that is why I always think of the early jazz band music that was revived in the 1980s with the Stray Cats and the Stray Cats Jive. Personally, adding "Woogie" to the root "Boogie" makes me laugh out loud every time I hear them together as "Boogie Woogie". :) When I hear the long phrase, I think of the brass group and the trumpet lead doing Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy of Company B"... it never fails.
