Yes that is somewhat true. Crossover skins work like this: If you don’t own a skin from the danganronpa part 1 for example, you will get all the diffrent skins before you get a duplicate. So as example you can pull Kyoko, Junko and then Makoto, and after you can get duplicates but you cant pull Kyoko and Junko and then get another Kyoko or Junko. You will get Makoto guaranteed before getting duplicates.

I think condensed essences won't work, since lily's essence is next season! I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure that's how it works so you should spend them
Any pulls that accumulate points from the condensed essences carry over to any season. I have about 600 points from Dangon pulls and I can technically redeem the 400 points from them and automatically can use them since I can redeem them and didn’t leave them in that little gold essence thing.

Somebody said you couldn't get duplicates in the crossover essences, so I guess I got really lucky just straight up getting the skins I wanted.

My luckiest essence because I got all the skins within a total of 300 pulls and I got the very expensive accessory
I wanted only kaede and mikan or chiaki, got kaede on 250, and got nagito and hajime on 55 and 65th pull.. didn’t get mikan or chiaki.. 😞
