Countdown the Top 20 Debut Rock Albums of All Time. Top 20. They got it perfect on the first try. There are many arguments as to which band or artist had the best debut. This video looks at the Top 10 BEST Debut Rock Albums. Best Debut. Debut. Van Halen was an American rock band formed in Pasadena, California, in 1972. GNR is an American hard rock band from Los Angeles, California, formed in 1985. Pearl Jam is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1990. AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1973 by Scottish-born Australian brothers Malcolm (rhythm guitar) and Angus Young (lead guitar). Kill 'Em All is the debut studio album by American heavy metal band Metallica, released on July 25, 1983, through the independent label Megaforce Records. Blizzard of Ozz is the debut studio album by English heavy metal vocalist Ozzy Osbourne, released on 12 September 1980 in the UK and on 27 March 1981 in the US. It’s one thing to make it big in metal, but another to start big. Rock and roll was never the same after these acts released their first albums. When it comes to critical and commercial success, its impact on the band or its influence on future artists, they all made their mark and set the tone for all of the rock music to come. Yesssss! “Ain’t Talking ‘bout Love” - best song ever. We were so blessed to have Van Halen. Thank you, Metal Dad!
Excellent List Metal Dad! Some of my favorite debuts classic and current are Living Colour Vivid, The Black Crowes Shake Your Money Maker, and Plush self titled debut, and Mammoth WVH self titled debut. Rock on! Metal Dad love your stories!
Gosh! VIVID is amazing. Shake Your Money Maker too!
You go Metal Dad, representing all of us old rock dads out here
I'm 52 y.o., and remember hearing Van Halen's "Running With the Devil" on KRXQ. My mom said, "Turn off that devil music!". I was hooked from then on... Great #1 choice. But I gotta say, High Voltage at #17?!? So sad :-'(
VH1, Boston, KISS, Appetite: Some of the best debut albums out there.
So glad you listed Jake and Badlands! They were so underrated!
Great list, Metal Dad! Had a blast going through it with you.
I loved Headbanger's Ball !!!! Great video Metal Dad, you're a natural !!
Yeah buddy!! Time travel with Metal Dad is real!
Metal Dad...I love these videos you make...learn something and then some killer riffs...thanks for the quality content man. As far as my number 1 face debut album, it landed in second place in your list, Appetite For Destruction is just so good. My face track, Paradise City, just an iconic rocker from start to finish...it's also the title track of the soundtrack to my all time favourite racing game 2008's Burnout Paradise where you tear around Paradise City performing stunts, driving recklessly and having fun. The game was remastered in 2018 with much better graphics but they didn't mess with the gameplay and as always, this first song you hear....Guns 'N Rises, Paradise City.
Man makes me feel young again ..Rock on good sir🤘🤘🤘🤘
King Diamond Abigail is such a great album
Great list, Dad!
The Kiss debut still stands above all, for mine.
Strutter, Firehouse, Cold Gin, Deuce, and Black Diamond.
Jesus H Christ!!!! 😂
Watch Your Mouth 👿‼️‼️‼️
Great list! Did you consider Motley Crue’s debut?
Cinderella live was absolutely fire…killer live band.
Another Great Video. Your Dirty Guitar Tone Sounds Great
I immediately made a playlist on Spotify. You're a great guy. Unfortunately, i could not find Badlands.
Sadly only RUclips has it. :(
Hard Rock is not Rock and Roll.
Is only Hard Rock...
Long life Hard Rock, Heavy Metal and Metal.😎
Been so busy I am Just now catching up with some of your vids MD. Oh Man, did you ever nail this countdown! It was such a pleasant stroll down the memory Hard rock lane of my mis-spent youth! 😁🤘 Every song too me back to those wonderful 80's and 90's where my hair was trying to grow long like Sebastian Bach but in reality it was just a mullet. 😂🎸👍 Keep Rocking MD!
Thank you Steven!!
Well done!
thanks. it was awesome!
What an optimistic person. Subscription from me.
I’m not sure if you’d count it as a debut but Holy Diver absolutely rocks and should totally be on this list
Thank You! 👍🏻
The Ratt album was a great album it sucks they couldn't follow up with any more good albums. They had either 3 or 4 total but out of the cellar was the only good one.
Doing tnt the E chord you known the the heavy E chord. 0 - e. 2 -a 2-d m* -g 0-b 0-e So you mute the G string with what ever finger your using for the a string on the second fret. When you strum all string now you’ll get a heavy sounding E chord all that is happening is the g string is muted. Sounds cool. You can do it with a G chord too. 5:10 - 6:32That being the a string muted with whatever finger you use on the 3 fret on the G chord which looks like the second finger. Use it to mute the A string. Good luck
rock oooooo🤟
What about Too Fast For Love by Mötley Crüe
Yo are you losing weight man? You look a little slimmer. Hope all is well !
Down to 284 from 301 in three months. Thanks!
@@MetalDadRocks amazing! I hope you feel better and can tell a difference! Thanks for sharing with us
IMO it miss:
Iron Maiden - Iron Maiden
Angel Witch - Angel Witch
Mr brownstone is the best Gn’R song ever 🤘
MTV: 90 Minutes Into The Future
Greetings for you from Moscow,Russia!!
Awesome! Greetings to you!!
Listen and try Russian group names Кроль и Шут (King and the Clown) )))
Great choice of riff for number 1. VH have been a huge part of my life since I was a kid, and my dad used to play them in the car on family holidays. Eddie was one of the 3 biggest influences on 6 year old me wanting to play guitar.
I learned so many VH songs, spent countless hours trying to nail the solos, and now, more than 30 years later, I played those same songs to my kids in the car and watched their faces light up just like mine did.
Eddie Van Halen was quite simply one of the greatest guitar players of the past 100 years, and the fact that he came across as such a pleasant guy with so little ego about his ability really was striking.
I've listened back redently to some of the stuff I used to enjoy as a teenager, and a lot of it just doesn't do it for me anymore, but not so with Van Halen. I still love the music just as much now as I did then.
As an “older” person who was just a little too young to go to Woodstock, and who was stuck working my a$$ off in the 80’s and 90’s, i couldn’t keep up with all the hard tock going on, but i must thank you for including Jimi Hendrix and “Purple Haze”, a lifetime favorite of mine.
Man you and I must have been separated at birth. Every song you played were done by some of my favorite bands and the song choices are right on point. Keep it up! Rock and Roll 🎸
I LOVE to read your comments! Please give me some of your favorite debut albums. What did I miss? One was Tesla's Mechanical Resonance. Dooh!!!
1 and 2 are reversed.
Appetite is the greatest debut album of all time. Period.
I just listened and found out about rock candy and recall the last album spinning Metallica
You can't fit everything in 20, but great list! I would have to have Ritchie Blackmore's Rainbow and Dio Holy Diver, and Queensryche (EP)! Awesome call on Badlands, that debut should have been as big as AFD!!🤘
I can't believe you didn't have nugents debut album on here. I don't know why he doesn't get the credit he deserves. One of the most original players ever
What a terrific video! Amazing and informative! Love getting a look inside the mind of Metal Dad! Keep them coming!
Glad you enjoyed it!
BADLANDSSSSS!!!!!!!!!! 🤘🔥🔥🔥
great list. love that you put Van Halen at number one!
Great choice metal dad. I love them all and really love Aerosmith first album. Awesome!!!
a whatever UFO riff shoud be in the list
Wasp wasp
Yeaaaaah!
Iron maiden has to be in there
I'm not big on their debut. Granted, I came in on Piece of Mind. I love a lot of songs on there.
@@MetalDadRocks metal dad I’m shocked
@@joesmith4045Iron Maiden’s first albums were bullshit compared to what came later. Agreed it’s a great band, but their debut work isn’t that good
Great list! Not much of a Guns-N-Roses fan, but I can't deny the impact they had on the industry...I would have them at #5 on the list. No discussion needed on your #1 pick, such a game changer for the hard rock/metal world. Good stuff man, keep up the good work, always a pleasure watching. Miss the recliner!!
Feeling blessed to being introduced to your channel, this temple of rock here sir. Will be frequently tuning in now on 🔥❤️🤘
Kiss should be forgotten
Nope
@@MetalDadRocks you know what you right
I like this format you are doing now. Killer tone dude.
Thank you!
Forgot Motörhead, megadeath, Lenard & priest, had good ones but metal granpa the bassist disagrees, Montrose?! Might as well have winger & the bay city rollers
All I'll say is Rocka Rolla is a pretty crappy album. Ones I regret forgetting about was Tesla's Mechanical Resonace, Black Crowes Shake Your Money Maker. Not one regret on Montrose. Van Halen in particular looked to that album as an early blueprint for what they would do. Cheers!
I feel like I saw this before…
You did. I had to re-upload. Had some issues.
@@MetalDadRocks Oh ok. I thought it was just some random deja vu lmao 😂
