When adding a second Seachem Tidal 110 To the 75 Gallon. I discovered that a full tray of Bio media from a Fluval FX6 fits in the Tidal 110 setup the way I do in the video. So 2 Tidal 110's are equal to an FX6 as far as media capacity and GPH go.
Thanks for taking the whole thig apart, I was gifted this plus a bow 75gallon tank I`m cleaning it today and It was left too long and too many corydoras from 3 different eggs just did a water change & cleaned my aquaclear, So I`m tackling the Tidel 110 this morning tried everything from pot cleaners to foam to pillow foam.I`ve never taken the impeller apart, So scarred to damage it,Thanks for the tips on the Canadian tire gutter gard, I`ll have to get some for next time, I do like how you did the thin foam @ the top as I was putting a potscrubber in the hollow side instead of foam as it does go over the inner basket, I`ve been useing this for about 2 years know & like it just love the aqua clear but too many floods had 3 on my last one, I`m going to try your way this time it`s just full of dirt & debree. Thanks again a 45 year fish keeper all fish but some of the different Cory`s had 3 sets of albino eggs to know babys the last 7 just relesed in the tank from there baby tank after 2 months. Thanks again, much love & many blessings from Windsor Ontario
I have to say, I am amazed. I have been working with these filters for years and have never seen anyone set it up so similarly to my own. The past 4-6 months I've been working on in-depth testing of fixes for the bypass on the aquarium co-op forums in the experiments section. I'd really appreciate your thoughts. I also have a bunch of my efforts on my channel, just about the only thing there, if you wish to check it out. Many thanks, nice work, awesome video.
Many, many thanks, I was looking for How to disassemble the filter pump. Now I will be able to troubleshoot and maintain the magnet. Thanks again. Greetings from Perú
Thank you for this informative video. You obviously have a good understanding of The Tidal filter and how to use it to its full advantage. I have had my Tidal 55 (same as yours, just smaller) for a year now. I love it, but have been so frustrated with the bypassing issue. It took me a year to come to the conclusions you have put in this video. Everyone who buys this filter should see this video. Congrats.
I like the addition of the foam across the front, it will allow the water to slow and spend more time on the bio media and as you said add filtration, plus more surface area for the beneficial bacteria to grow. Great video.
I also placed a plastic mesh at the bottom of mine so the sponge does not get squished into the open holes and limit water intake. No overflow and much better filtration I have found. Full flow and no bypass. I use about 3 inches of course sponge. Half inch of filter floss, a bag of Seachem Matrix and a bag of Seachem Purigen. All fits with no restrictions. Crystal clear water.
I’ve been using bio bags and they catch so much junk and makes the bags hard to clean. Idk that I could just put my ceramic into the box without them in the bags! It makes a lot more sense to not use bio bags now to me.
One fish got stuck on the top intake, getting sucked in. To prevent this turn the bottom dial clock wise right, to turn the bottom intake on more right?
My only hesitation on getting one is all the areas to suck shrimp or fish fry in. Mainly the surface skimmer and area with the internal underwater pump.
Just subscribed to yr channel, great video showing how easy it is to take apart the Tidal for cleaning and maintainence, do you think that if I have a 150Gal tank with some Oscar's 2, Severun 6 mediam + stocked tank 2 Tidal 110 well be able to handle this, having weekly water changes?
Hard to say. I had a very overstocked 75 gallon, I used 2 110's. I figured it was about the same as an FX 6. Later I did acquire an FX6 but left 1 of the 110's just for the skimmer and bonus filtration, it was all good. Testing your nitrates will tell you your story :-)
@@Eclectic-Human Thank you very much for yr feed back, but with two of these the water flow would be very good for the size and volume of this tank, right?
@@eues803 Depends how you position them. Should be fine, like I said I had 2 of them on a 75 gallon. If you are asking (size is volume) ... depends on your stocking. www.seachem.com/tidal-110.php says 450GPH X2 would be 900GPH. 10 times the volume would be a good place to start which would be 1500 GPH. You're probably ok with 2 Tidal 110's. Do your research and do the math to find what works for you.
@@Eclectic-Human Thank só much for yr feed back, I, m still not sure if I prefere do use a overflow box with a sump, or use the HOB, but anyway thank once again for yr opinion.
I bought a new 110 and getting bypass like crazy and the motor is loud. I keep the water level high and have 3 sponges made for the 110 and the included matrix. It’s not over stuffed so can’t figure out why there is so much bypass (even when it’s 100% clean).
I bought a Tidal 75 and have never been so disappointed in a filter. It is so noisy all the time. If I do get it to be quiet for a minute or two it doesn't last for more than a day at best. Anything else is a better choice.
That's really too bad, why are you telling me? I could possibly provide some advise if you could be a little clearer as to what the problem is. My best guess is that you're a little anal and clean it (the impeller) with every filter maintenance. Wait a year before you clean it or until it stops. Water level? lid rattle? IDK.
You make everything so complicated! Misshaping the bottom sponge does NOTHING. Just use it the way it was designed and relax! I’ve owned one for years and use it as directed and it works flawlessly. Sheesh.🙄
Well some of the simplest things are complicated for some people. Where do you get misshaping the bottom sponge from? It was designed to customise to your needs, ability and liking. I have owned several, over several years and improved the performance and like yours they worked flawlessly, so Sheesh yourself 🙄

Apparently Tidal 110 is best filter on the🌏 planet, according to reviews everywhere. I am going to buy mine this week.Good video👍

I have an aquarium size 18o×45×45cm.
Which model is ok for my aquarium?tidal 55 or 11o
Great video!! Exactly what I needed! I’ve had my 110 for several months.
Glad it helped!
Very informative video. I am actually installing my first tidal filter today and just found this video. Great tips. Subbed. 👍🏼

Hi , I just unboxed my tidal 55 and it’s not starting at all. Am I missing something or did I get a dud? Thanks
Thanks for sharing

I want to use three sponges and Instead of regular matrix I wanted to use pond matrix I don’t like using bags good set up?
That's what I do with my Tidal 35's. Custom sponges and matrix at the top. Thinking I'll do a quick video on that. Stay tuned.
My only hesitation on getting one is all the areas to suck shrimp or fish fry in. Mainly the surface skimmer and area with the internal underwater pump.
Just cut a piece of thin foam and set it on your skimmer is what I did works great and very easy
Hi loved your video , I have the Tidal 55 can I replace the Gutter net with plastic canvas?

Great in depth video, just wasn't really able to hear anything. Visual-wise though great job
great about impeller removal & how to get @ flow control! - bought the tidal 65 in August & is making knocking noise...irritating as hell

Not enough info there to help you. You might try reducing the flow. top left blue dial..
Is hard to clean while media loose and not in bags?
Not at all, just swish it around in tank water. >>> ruclips.net/video/gvmaf4-4nOY/видео.html
Why is better without bags
