When I first heard this song I was driving home from work at 3 am. The words made me cry for the first time in a long time. It made pray so hard because my wife at the time was pregnant and we were advised that one of them would not survive the labor. "I'm with your ghost again" is when I bawled and begged God to take me instead. We're all alive and healthy
ZZB has dozens of great songs, my daughter loves "Natural Disaster" I like all the Floady Boatwood ones (Knee Deep, Toes, The Wind, Island Song, No Hurry, Jump Right In). I also enjoy "Beautiful Drug" and "Someone I Used to Know"
This is a true story. One of the songwriters said this in an interview: There was a girl I was seeing, who lived in Kansas City. We really liked each other, but geography and timing just wasn't working for us. She was getting pretty frustrated with the whole thing and wanted me to slow down, as far as traveling so much and all those things. I wasn't willing to do that because we were just getting started, and I'm chasing my dreams. I was going to see her. We were in Green Bay, Wisc., playing a show with Little Big Town, and it was pouring down snow. We were supposed to go to Kansas City the next day for some radio thing, but the radio people canceled. Instead, we just went on to wherever we were going next. I had to call her and tell her that I wasn't going to make it. She was not a happy camper. She let me have it. I hung up the phone, walked on the bus and wrote the chorus and the melody to the chorus. Me and Zac worked on the first chorus together. I knew the song was special. You can just tell as a writer when you've written something that has a chance to be big or special. I knew that one was.
“Highway 20 Ride”, “Goodbye in her eyes”, “Sweet Annie”.... Zac Brown Band has so many amazing songs... “Chicken Fried” if you want something more upbeat and fun.
I first heard this song the day my grandfather died. My girlfriend and I were gonna hang out that day, and my grandfather died. I didn’t know how to deal with it, my girlfriend came over, and we listened to the radio and she consoled me. This song came on the radio, and she told me she wouldn’t leave me. That was the same day she first said she loved me. To this day we are still together, and this song gives me two different emotions at the same time, it’s hard to listen to it, but it also helps me through tough times too. It’s hard to explain.
“Colder weather” symbolizes him not being able to commit to the girl he knows he should be with. “I don’t want you but I need you” he knows he should be with her but he has commitment issues
Actually, according to the author it is about the challenge of a long distance relationship from the perspective of someone whose career requires them to be on the road, like a musician (or a trucker Justin Patrick) and their significant other.
The song is about a truck driver that’s not able to go home to his girl because he’s literally stuck in colder weather he’s doing his job but misses his girl
I wanted to thank you for introducing me to songs I haven't heard before. I knew some of the country songs you have done, but I am basically an old rocker. I appreciate most types of music when the musicianship is outstanding.
My wife and I have seen Zac Brown in concert several times. Years ago he opened for Dave Mathews and his first song was a Rage song. He absolutely killed it. The man can probably sing just about anything and make it sound good.
I saw Zac Brown in concert . It was a good concert. I'm glad to see her experiencing new music. I like her. She needs to listen to Good bye in her eyes. These are the kind of song you grab your girl and dance the night away too.
I’ve enjoyed watching your videos and watching your channel grow. It was just a few months ago when I saw you had 17k followers - now your over 40k. That’s awesome! Congrats.
I first heard this song when someone from my past said it reminded him of me and our time together. He was in the military. Life got in the way and I ended up moving away it wasn’t in the cards for us. Now we both are married to other people with kids. Colder weather is a metaphor I believe for commitment issues. Definitely bring a back memories when I hear it.
I remember this song as one of the first country songs that brought me down the road you're on 🍣, was Christmas of 2011 I was visiting my grandma and I went for a walk the only station I could get was local country and I started to cry during it I listened to more ZBB and now I get the same way every time I hear it, it reminds me of my roots into the genre and how I've come since
This song always reminds me of a time when my wife was still in Colorado and I was in Seattle taking care my dad until he passed and she was helping her mom recover from a fall. Circumstances kept us from seeing each other for a little over a year. And there was about a total of 3 1/2 years of separation due to this. This song always made me smile and think about getting home(Colorado).Yes we are still happily together and having our own adventures together in the mountains in Oregon.
Being from Quebec, french part of Canada, I stumbled upon Zac Brown by mistake and it's a mistake I would repeat every day of my life!! We don't listen to Amrican country much here (or don't talk about it much), but Zac Brown Band is a must-listen to!! Guys aren't afraid to try new things, tread new paths and reinvent themselves!! Kudos for that! You are an amazing youtuber! Love your react videos, very emotional, true and grounded! Keep it up!!
The co-writer, Wyatt Durrette, states this song is about the inability to commit to a relationship while chasing one’s dreams....and a truck driver literally being separated from his lover by cold weather. I think this song may be a perfect example of sometimes things being exactly what they present themselves to be.
@@kristinkeiner9936 I hear. Don't normally think of trucks being held up by cold weather, so that may be why people were reading that as a metaphor. The inability to commit aspect remains true either way, and I think that is the most powerful aspect of the song. "I'm a lover, you're a runner . . ."
I was just coming back from iowa I moved there for 31/2years and I know the truck stop just west of Lincoln nebraska been there many times. Makes me miss iowa awesome song highway 20 ride is off the charts makes me think of my daughter when I left to go to iowa and the years I spent there without my little girl .....
I'm a line haul boat captain on the Mississippi River and it's tributaries. This is more than just a job, it's a way of life to takes me away from home for weeks and weeks at a time. I was on a boat passing through Memphis Tennessee at 0200 in the morning with 5 weeks down and didn't have any idea of how many more days or weeks to go before I would go home to my wife the first time I heard this song.
Don't remember the first time I heard this song but recently this song took on a whole different meaning to me at the last verse....it makes me think of my best friend Jeannie who passed away....one of my favorite Zac Brown songs.....maybe my favorite by them
I like the song, I love the video- before cars, before electric lights, he’s trying to get home lost in a storm, she’s putting lamps in the window to guide him home in a whiteout, fires his rifle because he’s lost, so she lights the barn on fire to show him the way home. So good
George strait """ when did you stop loving me"" "easy come easy go"" "" she'll leave you with smile"" best country artist ever, more than 50 number 1 hits.... the king
22years old From Canada Alberta This has been my favourite song since I was about ten years old and at graduation I said THIS is my grad song when I was walking he’d be singing in colder weather
This song strikes at the core of me. I've been a truck driver for 30+ years and just in my blood. I don't WANT to leave... but I've got a Gypsy Soul and can't be cooped up. She stands faithfully at the door each time and watches my taillights fade. Cowboys and Truckers.
I've been binge watching you and just wanted you to know you are amazing and your reaction vids are so the best! I definitely had to finally be a subscriber😁
Herd this song leaving a funeral of a team mate that served with me in the service after PTSD defeated him and he took his own life I think of him often. Thankyou for all you do on your reaction videos.
I'm so glad this was your introduction to zac brown band. Most people start with "chicken fried" or "toes" and while they are fun catchy songs i really love their more meaningful ones like "hwy 20 ride" or "sweet annie" also I got to see them in concert years ago they are freaking amazing live and you can really tell they put their all into their performances.
I love this song and I have a different view of the end that apparently I only have when he says "I'm with your ghost again" you can hear his voice change into this somber tone that makes me think the love passed as he was out driving.
This makes me think of my wife every time I leave for the road. I’m an over the road truck driver and home always feels so far away. Love the job hate being away from her.
You know those days where you just don't feel like you are good enough for anybody? Those days where you just want be alone in your own misery? That's the "colder weather."
I'm so happy you're doing more country reactions. I really like you and your channel. Sometimes I feel bad because I know what some of these songs can do to a person. There are a few country songs that I've heard a hundred times and they still make me tear up. Thanks for reacting to Zac Brown. They have several other good songs. Their newer stuff got kind of weird though, wasn't as good, imo. Highway 20 ride has been mentioned several times that is one of my favorites, and Chicken Fried is the song that put Zac Brown on the map.
That’s the great thing about country music, the songs always tell a story that brings some emotion forward. Which is why country will stand the test of time.
ZBB: My favorite singers and genre. There's so many ways to interpret this song and it seems that's what the band was after as they stated when asked about the meaning: "To each their own". I went to a concert where 10,000 people showed up in Green Bay, Wisconsin to see and hear them. It was an exciting time for me for sure! 💓
Your reactions are the best in my opinion, your honest. Your helping bridge this gap.. your seeing we’re all the same.. we all share have the same emotions.humaity not race..
I heard this song the year it came out, but was crazy is I had stopped listening to it for a few months, I live in Las Vegas and I drove across country to Michigan 12/15/18 and randomly in Lincoln Nebraska I turned the radio on and this song came on. it’s been a favorite of mine for a very long time. Crazy how that happened
Zac's one of my favorite male vocalist... I don't listen to country much but I can appreciate his music... He really shows his range on the song "Free"...
So glad you did this one i suggested in your other video. Great song. Awesome band. Song actually came out when i was trying to date a girl too. The lyrics are poetically put together.
The Zac Brown Band has had a ton of great songs. I do have a request: Would you please react to "Remember When It Rained" by Josh Groban. He is a man with a very powerful and angelic voice. Josh first was disc when he appeared in an episode of "Ally McBeal" in the 1990's. Josh had role in the episode and he sang in the last few minutes of it. David Foster took him under his wing and Josh never looked back. He is one of the most kindest, sweetest, funniest and humble people in the entertainment business. I look forward to you reacting to him! I enjoyed your reaction here, as always!
I always thought this song was about a trucker that couldn't choose between the love of his life and his love of the road, and she passed away before he solidified his choice. "I'm with your ghost again" "when I close my eyes I see her, no matter where I am, I can smell your perfume through these whispering pines" "It's a shame about the weather, but I know soon we'll be together and I can't wait til then". This song hits hard for me.
This song is made from a truck drivers perspective and the video is a metaphor for him being stuck in other places around the country except with his love so it's cold hence colder weather they explained it in an interview but that's the most of the story !!! I think Zac Brown is amazing in almost every song he does
i was probably in my dads dodge, waiting for my happy meal in the back seat. that trucks mine now, and im following his footsteps as a 2w1 in the air force.
I was in drug rehab in TN. Meet a girl there but couldn't stay. Had to get back to Texas to raise my son. She died 2 years later and the song makes me think of her and TN every time I hear it.
OTR Truck driver, I'm gone 3 months and home for a week. This song is me, particularly the "you've got a gypsy heart, you were meant for leaving" line.
I heard this first in concert. Zac is a local boy to me made good. If I remember correctly this song was about a truck driver on the road missing his wife. :) you would really enjoy his song, whatever it is. Though toes is my favorite.
I honestly love your raw emotion. This may be weird, your hair is beautiful. Thank you for heart felt reaction. Keep up your reactions. Honestly I'm not a creeper.
Zak Brown band is a very talented group. Their harmonies are out of this world. They've done songs by Metallica at their shows and they did really good. Love your videos and yore one beautiful lady.
My favourite song of the Zac brown band is ( I’ll be your man ) a song written for a daughter, I have three daughters and I cry and yell out every time as the song ends
The first time I heard this song when it played, when I close my eyes I see you no matter where I am I can smell your perfume through these whispering pines I was married but in love with someone else for a while, it always made me think of her, years later we got together and have been happy ever since.
Cold weather is a metaphor about ow you are stuck in a place and don’t know what to do. Also this is is the first one of your videos I’ve watched and I’m definitely gonna watch more
Zac Brown is one of my favorite country bands.. We knew about this band here in Alabama long before he hit the national stage. Lol Jolene is probably their best song
It’s about Truck drivers and the struggles of having a relationship. One may say that they should find a more convenient job, but the love for the road and the job is one like no other. The only ones who understand are other drivers themselves.
This used to be my theme song. It's about not being able to sit still as a nomad, or gypsy gripped by wanderlust. Then things change or end from being away all the time for so long.
Glad to hear all are well.
That's a strong ass post Brother 💪🙌😎👍
Thank God! That's a don't take the girl moment for sure! Super happy everyone is OK and healthy..from Wyoming USA 🇺🇸 🤠
Bless you friend
"Highway 20 ride" is a killer. Also, "my old man". I can't not cry when I hear those songs
Highway 20 Ride is so emotional and such a great song. Great suggestion, and I second.
Both of those are awesome songs
I feel like I should add "Goodbye in her eyes" and "Leaving love behind" to your awesome list.
Love it tells the story of me and my girls when I had to drive 60 miles to see them on the weekends.

Dress blues is a good one too
I love "Sweet Annie".. one of my favorites..
Free and As she’s walking away
I first heard this song the day my grandfather died. My girlfriend and I were gonna hang out that day, and my grandfather died. “Colder weather” symbolizes him not being able to commit to the girl he knows he should be with. “I don’t want you but I need you” he knows he should be with her but he has commitment issues
Yeah Gypsy's constantly are on the move. I know how that feels
Idk why, but i always saw this song as from the perspective of a trucker having to constantly leave for work and regretting being away
It's about his brother who was addicted to meth. He talked about it already. Look it up. Sad story
React to Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band. It is uplifting
Terri Walls very much a Jimmy Buffett vibe along with Toes.
Yes!! Chicken Fried all day.
Hands down his best song just a great song to sit back kick it and drink
This is one of my favorite songs by his band, because it is on the happier side of country although i live in color also
LOVE that one 🍗 😂! The patriotic part always makes me welt up though 😭
I wanted to thank you for introducing me to songs I haven't heard before. I knew some of the country songs you have done, but I am basically an old rocker. I appreciate most types of music when the musicianship is outstanding.
"As she's walking away" Is a great Zac Brown piece.

She needs to listen to
Good bye in her eyes.

Trace Adkins “you’re gonna miss this”
Also Then They Do.
She has already
No please no!!! I will need so much Kleenex

“Chicken Fried” by Zac Brown Band . It’s a very happy song !! And a classic !!
MrJespy24 Such a feel good song!!! 😍
My favorite Zac Brown song by far, and it makes me emotional every time I hear it. Thanks for the video and your appreciation for his voice.

Great reactions..... love it and love all of Zac Brown's music...............
I’ve always assumed “Colder Weather” was depression and he couldn’t commit to her or love her the way she loved him cause he was depressed.
Agreed or maybe he had been hurt so he is afraid of the commitment.
Both great ways of looking at it. Thanks for the insights!!!
Some people are so bad at dealing with loss, they can't let someone get too close.
The co-writer, Wyatt Durrette, states this song is about the inability to commit to a relationship while chasing one’s dreams....and a truck driver literally being separated from his lover by cold weather.

I always hear this and think of a long haul truck driver.
Robert Holder That’s what I was thinking. I have 4 uncles that drive truck, and it really describes their lives to a T.
I drive truck and this song is my soul.
that’s what it’s about. it’s not about a meth addiction or commitment issues like some people have said
I like the song, I love the video- before cars, before electric lights, he’s trying to get home lost in a storm, she’s putting lamps in the window to guide him home in a whiteout, fires his rifle because he’s lost, so she lights the barn on fire to show him the way home. So good

IT IS SOOOO NICE TO SEE A BEAUTIFUL HEART FILLED WITH ALL TYPES OF MUSIC! YOUR TRUE HEARTFELT REACTION TO A SONG IS PRICELESS...
New to your channel, love your input to so many of these songs that I have listened to. Picking up more in the lyrics.Nice job!
Colorado is beautiful!! I lived there for 30 years and miss it but don't miss the cold!!
Herd this song leaving a funeral of a team mate that served with me in the service after PTSD defeated him and he took his own life I think of him often. Thankyou for all you do on your reaction videos.
Hands down, the most genuine reactions I've seen.. You earned a sub from me 👍🏼
I'm so glad this was your introduction to zac brown band. Exactly what I thought this song was about after seeing the video
She killed herself by setting the barn on fire.
"Free" is one of their best songs
This makes me think of my wife every time I leave for the road. I’m an over the road truck driver and home always feels so far away. Love the job hate being away from her.
2018, I drove from Nevada to Washington. This song came on and I played it on repeat cause it just hit me spot on. Lol funny how songs do that.
One of my favorite songs of all time..it brings a tear.....i was once a gypsy soul......
Such a talented group of guys
You'll love "Sweet Annie" Zac Brown Band has tons of great song. Very diverse. I see them in concert every year.
Zac Brown band is awesome. he sings with such soul
You know those days where you just don't feel like you are good enough for anybody? Those days where you just want be alone in your own misery?
That's the "colder weather."
I've seen Zac Brown twice. Didn't know anything about them the first time I went. Became a fan instantly
I'm so happy you're doing more country reactions. I really like you and your channel. Sometimes I feel bad because I know what some of these songs can do to a person. The writer says it was specifically Lincoln, MT. A common misconception is it's Lincoln, Nebraska.
It was written from the prospective of a truck driver who gets stuck away from his loved one due to snow. It's one of my favorite Zac Brown songs.
im in New Zealand found it on youtube and love most of there songs
Zac's one of my favorite male vocalist... I don't listen to country much but I can appreciate his music... He really shows his range on the song "Free"...
One of my favorite songs! Love your videos too!
I was going to say Goodbye In Her Eyes. It's my favorite song by them. They're all great!
Zac brown “sweet Annie” and “island song”
Sweet Annie is a great song, hell yeah
Yes, sweet Annie!
yesss!! Sweet Annie ♥
So glad you did this one i suggested in your other video. Great song. Awesome band. Song actually came out when i was trying to date a girl too. The lyrics are poetically put together.
I'll second Hwy 20 ride.
Definitely all time favorite band no matter what genre and top 5 favorite song
I love your country reactions! You are beautiful and your hair is FIRE!
I totally had a lover when this song first came out and he left me like this... playing games. Beautiful song.
First time hearing this; it’s in my country playlist now!
I look forward to you reacting to him! I enjoyed your reaction here, as always!
Remember when it Rained is an amazing song. Also, "To Where You Are" by Josh Groban is another song that makes me super emotional.
A lot of their stuff is trash, especially the new.
Broken Vow!
Have you ever thought that when he says he can't wait til then he might speed up the process of their reunion by killing himself.
Zac brown the one that sing this grew up where I'm from the song chicken fried is filmed in Union point I'm from greeneboro ga
LOVE Colder Weather! It gets me every time
I love this song perfect beautiful god gifted voice
This song is made from a truck drivers perspective and the video is a metaphor for him being stuck in other places around the country except with his love so it's cold hence colder weather they explained it in an interview but that's the most of the story !!! I think Zac Brown is amazing in almost every song he does
FANTASTIC band in concert. If you have a chance, GO SEE THEM. For real
They did a version of The Devil went down to Georgia that's Awesome at the CMA awards a few yrs ago... worth checking out:)
Highway 20 Ride. Any parent who messed up and caused them to be away from the ones they loved will hold that song in a special place in their heart.
THANK YOU! So excited to see your reaction. I was in the car and thought it was James Taylor.
i was probably in my dads dodge, waiting for my happy meal in the back seat. that trucks mine now, and im following his footsteps as a 2w1 in the air force.
I used to spend 200+ days on the road for the military and it was always hard to say goodbye.
i love you but i leave ya i dont want you but i need you is my favorite line of this whole song
Love the reaction! Yeah, ZBB can really tug at your heart-strings!
Zac Brown Band-"Goodbye in Her Eyes".
Please do this song, it's amazing!
100% agree. It's one of my favorite songs of all time. I'm a 210lb electrician and I cry every time I hear that song!
You're 💯🔥🔥 keep it up I support you 💯 your all good with everything no hating over here just straight up respect you one love SUSHI...🤗
Zac Brown Band writes some of the best lyrics in country music today. So deep, poetic, and meaningful.
I heard this first in concert. Zac is a local boy to me made good. If I remember correctly this song was about a truck driver on the road missing his wife. :) you would really enjoy his song, whatever it is. Though toes is my favorite.
Every other weekend by Kenny Chesney and Reba is a tearjerker
I honestly love your raw emotion. This may be weird, your hair is beautiful. Thank you for heart felt reaction. Keep up your reactions. Honestly I'm not a creeper.
Highway 20 Ride, Goodbye in Her Eyes, Chicken Fried...They have got so many good ones.
Yea “highway 20 ride” is another great song by them and if you ever see them live OMG they put on a heck of a live show
Zak Brown band is a very talented group.
Also this is is the first one of your videos I’ve watched and I’m definitely gonna watch more
That piano introbgets me everytime..im in a long distance relatioship...and listen to this alot...cant believe i just found it on your channel lol
When I first heard this song was now but I like it
Zac Brown is one of my favorite country bands.. We knew about this band here in Alabama long before he hit the national stage. Lol Jolene is probably their best song
Try these from Zac Brown too, "Highway 20 ride", "Goodbye in her eyes" and "Leaving love behind", "My Old man", "Homegrown", "Day that I die"
One of my favorites of his. Another good one is highway 20 ride.
