I'm a beginner and I really enjoy watching your videos. You can tell fishing is something that you truly love to do and gets me excited to keep learning. Thanks for the great videos!
It’s fun to learn fishing techniques. I have fished my whole life, but have learned more in this past year than the rest of my years together. And Debo, you have been part of this learning curve. Bought shaky heads last year and can’t wait to use them more. I might try the ManBearPig in Tramp Stamp on them this season. Or a Buffalo Wild Wing.
Awesome man! I agree, learning and trying new stuff is half the fun. I'm glad my vids have helped man. Yes, I bet the MBP would be awesome on one. Save the wings for me 🤣
I have been fishing freshwater for only a year now (weekend’s only) but I have notice that the shaky head works really well for me early in the morning, these will help me out a lot for 2020, thank you Debo, great video also
Love how you cover all aspects of this type of fishing. Thanks. Only tried this method twice and after watching this video I realize I was fishing the shaky incorrectly. I plan on doing it right from now on. Way to go Debo.
Great advise, I believe most people over work shaky heads, ned rigs, and drop shots. Many fish in my area won't hit a moving piece of plastic, but suck it off the bottom after movement stops. Hits on the fall only seem to come from the most aggressive fish.
Hey dude.....thanks for the tons of info....tips....loved the video...and although I did not want to admit it....i was one of those shaker guys....shaking it all the way....after this video....i will give it more time to have the tail do the work for me...thanks again for all the help!!!
As said before never done a lot of finesse fishing. Have recently picked up some shaky heads and some soft plastics. Lots of great info. Thanks a bunch 👍👍
Great video Debo. I can't believe that I helped make this video. Great stuff. We went fishing last night and (since the wacky rig is my confidence bait) the wacky rig produced 2 fish. One 2lber and one new PB. We figured 6lbs (to lazy to use the scale). One more bite on the wacky. And a bite on the Berkley Pitboss. Wacky was a Bass Pro Shops Tournament series 4 & 1/2" Wacky Stik-o-worm in Junebug. Berkley Pitboss was a black and blue. New to the Shakey head. Never caught anything on it. Hoping that I can. Should have tried the TRD Crawz Ned rig last night. Awesome stuff!!!
Very good info… started using the Shaky Head and love pairing it with the Ned, Wacky and now drop shot when dialing in on what they want in deeper water
Debo, I could go the whole season and only throw a shaky head with different trailers. I am confident no matter where I am and what the conditions I would still catch fish. Not because I am that good but because the bait is so versatile as you pointed out. The different shapes of the heads, the different weights and you can use almost every type and style of plastic on the market. As a result all of these combinations make up unique rigs that have different characteristics. I have tiny trout sized heads up to the standard 1/16, 3/16, 1/4 and 3/8 oz heads. I do not go any larger I love finesse fishing. 3,4 and 5 inch Senko’s were my standards for quite some time. Reaction Innovations Smallie Beaver and the standard version have been primary trailers when I am slow dragging the bottom. I have recently fell in love with Z-Man products both of the TRD’s have produced some quality fish. The Big TRD in PB&J has caught my largest fish and I mean multiple large fish.
You're 100% correct! It's a rig that can do a a lot of different things. Grass, wood, rock...it's not often that a lure can do all of that and not get hung up all of the time!
I’ve been ignoring the shakey head. But now I understand it so much more.!! I knew I could depend on my mento DEBO!!!!! Thanks so much for this viDEBO ‘cause I finally get it. In fact I’m going to use it tomorrow!! Depending on the weather of course nd use the tequila sunrise worm!!!! I let you know how it goes!!!!
Great video! I used to fish the shakey head quite a bit several years ago, but got into other techniques. I've been thinking about getting back into shakey head fishing and your video has me digging up my shakey head gear.
100% the same for me. I go in waves with certain lures/rigs. Four years ago this was my confidence lure. Started trying other things - ned rig, Nemo, weighted wacky, finesse jigs, etc. You forget about some of the old standards!
Shaky head is my absolute favorite technique to use hands down. Perfect for all year round. The sweet beaver was also my first T-Rigged creature that I caught a bass on with green pumpkin being the color. Love your videos!
My FAV shakeyhead jig is the Buckeye Lures Pro Model. The flat face gives a SUPERB fluttering action when jerked, both up and on the fall. My favorite trailer is the Rzr Shad. It darts ever which way with each hard jerk, thanks to the flat face of the 3/16 jig. Bomb Cast Fall Sit Drag Sit Jerk (up) Fall Jerk (side sweep) Jerk (side sweep) 20lb test allows me to really rip it when I cast and jerk (imparting the best action to the lure). Reaction bites... love em.
The airtail wiggler has become my go to. Another trick is with the straight shank ball heads rig the worm with a little “bow” in it and it’ll spiral on the fall. Works good sometimes around docks.
Great video Debo! I don't throw the shaky head as a lot of the ponds I fish have a lot of gunk on the bottom. I will put up with it when the bite gets tough. Like you, the Zoom finesse and Grandebass Airtails are my fav but I like the suggestion of trying the swimbait or beaver. The tip on not imparting too much action is spot on! We need to find a way to get your subs over 100k!
I'm glad the tips helped man. I've truly had days bouncing it with no bites...switched to just dragging it over rocks and it was game on! I'll get to 100K someday...hopefully 🤣👊
DEBO. great video. I fish the shaky head a little bit, but I've never caught anything yet. I get the feeling I'm working it too much or too fast. Since I'm new to the rig, I never know which style of shakey head hooks to buy, so I greatly appreciate the coverage on the various head and hook options. Explained it very well!
Awesome! I'm happy to hear that this could help! It's great to lightly pop it on the bottom like a jig, drag it, or just toss it at high percentage targets!
Want to get better at shakes head. Definitely will try out some of these techniques. Funny how you mention the rugby head. Have been using it as a weedless ewg Ned rig hook. I’ll have to try a worm.
Ive been using the 1/16oz. Owners with the dry creek tubes makes them weedless and they come over chunk rock way easier caught two 4s during Christmas 🎣
Just took delivery of the Grande air-tail baits in 4 different colors. Rigged one in candy-watermelon to a shaky head with the screw keeper and played with it in a bucket of water. Man, that looks irresistible with that floating tail! It's pretty large (6" I think) so I think I might sometimes be cutting off maybe an inch or two when the bite is less than aggressive. Experimentation will be fun with these air-tails. Thanks, DEBO, for turning me on to them. Spring IS coming.....😎.....but not yet. 👍🏼
Gotta bit of study to share with you Debo. Strike King has a Super finesse worm that's made by ZMan. Of course it's ElaZtech material. And I didn't get much chance to see how it performs in the right conditions. What I did notice is there's a slight issue to deal with if you use a 1/4oz jighead with it for Shakeyhead applications. When casting these worms on 1/4oz or bigger they are going to stretch out & that will shorten your cast a great deal. When you use 3/16, it's a better weight and doesn't stretch out as bad. I have some VMC Rugby jigs coming in the mail Monday & they are all 1/16oz. These are a new one for me. They are not to be confused with the VMC swimming Rugby jigs. They are different and made to be fished like a shakeyhead. Definitely a good Finesse jig by all means. I've been looking for a EWG jighead that comes in a 1.0 or 2.0 size so I can Ned Rig with it. So far I'm using a Slider Spider jighead but it tends to have a more laid down look & it glides more than hops. Sometimes that presentation is perfect but I'm still on a quest for a good jighead with more of a mushroom head. Just thought I'd share that with you. And Discount Tackle.com is selling their Chatterbaits at almost 50% off. I have 3 of the Original models for $3.99 a piece coming Monday also. I saw where they have the Jack Hammer for$12.99 but I don't need that model. I get 3 original models for what it costs for just one of those 😲 so I had to get those. Just thought I'd share that bit of knowledge with you. With all the new tackle out, maybe it it's time for a video with covering the new stuff. Have a good weekend and I will be watching for your new video . Later my friend.
@@DEBOSFishing the prices are great but the stock is not as big as the Discount Tackle Warehouse. The Chatterbait deals are sweet. I got my arsenal back up to parr. Now I'm waiting on the first full moon in March to happen & set these fish into a feeding frenzy
@@DEBOSFishing I also found the Ned Rig hooks I was looking for. They are made by Lifted Jigs. They are all 1/0 size & alot of the sizes are being released on February 8th. They are $5.99 for 3 so I'm still looking to see what might be out there may be a lesser priced set up. But I did find em. The VMC RUGBY JIGS are too big to use for Ned Rig but they are great for Shakeyhead applications. The eye is recessed into the football shaped head so it does save the knot from being frayed. Still got to check the line for knicks and brushes that will infact cause you to break off. I enjoy watching the videos on painting crankbaits. Good stuff
Hey Brian! Bought some Spike it Chartreuse garlic flavor. Just started last night to dye some baits. Tried them today! Trailer on my spinner baits with paddle tails. Just killed them! The garlic smell last and lasts too. Been looking for someone else that was using the dye. Thanks, for your in sight. Text more I think you could have a youtube channel too. Shawn
@@shawnbeck2303 thanks for the vote of confidence but i don't think I have the presence or the skills to do RUclips. I wouldn't mind however fishing with some youtubers and learn from people who have decades more experience than i do but ive only been actively fishing for a couple years so yeah
Debo Another great video, hope spring gets here sooner then later. And I have always found zoom trick worms work great!! Also in the purple & black color...
Thanks for another great video! You answered a lot of my questions about this rig.I have not fished the shaky head much, but I plan to work on it this year.
Good tips, thanks. I find myself fishing too fast trying to cover too much water when using these soft plastics. I'll try to slow it down and let the bait do the work like you mentioned. Then maybe...maybe i'll be able to land one this year.
I fish the shaky head when I need something finesse and it’s maybe I’m somewhere new. You can power fish it but then you can slow it down. I really like the zoom finesse work it’s just a straight worm 5in.
I scored some of those pocket rocket and air tail wigglers brand new for a bucks a piece at a garage sale so I’m pretty stoked to toss em once springs here... which is very near here in Texas 😅
New to the Chanel! Love your tips and tricks. Cant wait to spring ariwes here i Sweden. Will fore sure try out both shaky head and wacky head for purch this up coming spring.
Great video with a lot of information in it. Absolutely love information with great explanation and you did that well. I am still learning a lot about this shaky head stuff and haven't gotten any of it in my tackle boxes as it is still growing. But now I would now be more confident to go out and get what I need to give it a try. As always my friend keep up the good work and keep making great content. You are awesome man.
Great video as always man! As far as the shakey head goes. I played around with them a little in the fall, but I plan on working with them alot more in 2020.
Now we're talking about my kind of fun. I do just like you said. Smaller set ups I go with spinning rod and reel set up. If I'm really going after a more vicious bite or fishing around serious brush piles where the fish have more girth, it's my baitcaster. I can use my spinning setup but I will break off alot easier. It's more more serious finessing involve but I don't want to keep retieing involved. Now I throw baby bushog on a luck E Strike football shakeyhead with a 1/4oz & 3.0 hook. I also use that Grande Bass worm we spoke about before. In spring bass here can be spooked real easy so I use baitcaster so I can get em out of there before they scare the others. I use Shakeyheads year round and I also use glass rattles alot. The fish here see the same ole same ole. I try to change it up. My favorite worm for Shakeyhead is a Big TRD worm and the XL TRD worms. They stand up all the time and are a mushier feel to the bite. Just my preference & most people think they are too expensive. I will glue them to the head of the football so they last longer. That trick worm you showed,.... I really like those too. They look awesome in the water. I'm going to try some of the worms you mentioned using on a Ned Rig. Those are perfect for the pond around the corner from me. They see alot of the same stuff. So time to throw something not favored. I wondered if you use scent on any of your baits??? I do but not always. Sometimes it is a must. I also started throwing a Bx Brat too. Not the bigger version like you see being advertised. It doesn't have rattles either. The silent model works like a dream. I really like it too. I do use 15lb test with it. I want it to stay shallow and be able to land that "Slaunch donkey" when she bites. I don't want to text a whole page but you are talking about my favorite method. Great video, btw.👊 I was waiting for one like this one!! Good stuff bruh 👌👌. Take care
That's great! I get excited like this talking about frog fishing. Gluing the plastic to the head of the jig is something I need to try too! Thanks for watching man 👊
I just bought a new baitcaster. I bought a Abu Garcia Black Max 3. I know, I know but I got a killer deal on it!! $30 & it's still in the blister pack. I had one before. I retired my 82 Lew's Speed spool bb2. It was getting old and it was beginning to make noises I didn't feel good about. I recently changed careers and I have less income so I have to shop frugally. I'm thinking about getting a Thunder Cricket & a couple of swim jigs so I needed another baitcaster. One I could use with ease so I went with ole faithful gear. I'm putting it on a Daiwa rod though 😛. Gotta love for the one piece 7' casting rods they make!! Besides I got a couple of boxes of CDRs for the handycam so I can video some of my catches this year. Wish I could afford a 13 Fishing reel or a new Lew's but after everything got stolen during my divorce, I can only afford the less expensive. But, I'm not going to be persuaded to give up the one thing I love so dearly. I'm not fishing tournaments anymore so I'm going to keep learning & loving what I do. It keeps me centered. I know you know what I mean. You never know.... I might just show up in Iowa one of these days & look up someone to fish with. I never caught big Pike. Big Chain pickeral but not Pike!! Keep up the good work 🤘👍
Since I figured out how to use a Texas rig it’s my go to and it’s improved my catch. Threw on a shaky head today with a stick bait and caught 3. Was a little impatient and missed a couple.
Great video Debo! I haven't had any luck with the Shakey head yet, but I just started fishing in late September. I'll definitely be giving your tips a try.
Good stuff brotha love the shaky head especially for winter bass. I do like the Zoom trick worm the best for the shaky but as well throw everything on one n catch fish!!!👍👍
My tackle warehouse shopping cart gets bigger every time I watch one of your videos
Haha I feel that man. I could spend 500+ so easily

Often times there isn't one right way. Make some changes and find what fits your style! Good luck man 👊👊👊
This might be the best shaky head video on RUclips. Good work!
Damn man, that means a lot! Thanks for watching and supporting 👊

Yeah, I still have a tendency to overwork them. Frustration and impatience seem to make me shake the rod like a can of paint 🤣
I watch a lot of fishing channels. By far this is the most informative channel on RUclips. You keep it interesting. Well done. Thank you!
Finally a channel is for the common poor man that fishes! Love the channel!

Another Gem from Debo! Keep em coming man.
Appreciate that a lot man! Thanks for watching 👊
Great video, good topic. Thanks
Thank you, Jerry!👊
Awesome video an great tips going try the shaky head more. Keep them

Nothing wrong with that. The weighted texas rig is probably my most confident rig!

Good stuff
That video was awesome, I learned about shaky heads haven't used them yet I bought some, but I haven't had a chance. Thanks for your tips 👍🎣
Thank you for the video. I'm new to bass fishing and never tried plastics yet. I used night crawlers and lures so far.
I'm a fan of the Owner shakey heads and the Airtail Rattler is awesome. I dip the tail in some garlic Chartreuse dye... Killer setup.
Heck yeah, great combo. Yep, that chartreuse dye is money!
I just do a lot of research before jumping into things
Haven't gotten around to a Shakey head since I got back into fishing but it on the list. Great video 👍
Nice! They come in handy for sure! Good luck 👊
Thanks DEBO! A lot of info too take in. I have never fished a shakey head but plan to this year! Good luck in 2020!!
I tried to do a brain dump on the shaky head! I hope it helps you this year! Thanks for watching 👊👊👊
Great video dude. A lot of tips that i needed. Thanks dude
You're welcome man, hope the tips helped!
Great info man. I tell ya I love to toss the old shake'em heads around. Great breakdown man.
Thanks brotha man! You can teach me some of that deep ledge shankin!
Thanks debo good info will be doing it this weekend!
Awesome! Hope you caught some biggins!
Great stuff dude. Keep it up!
Thanks man, always appreciate your support on my vids!
So much great information for a beginner! Thank you!! This video answered so many questions for me!
Debo
Another great video, hope spring gets here sooner then later. And I have always found zoom trick worms work great!! Also in the purple & black color...
The trick worms are classic! Thanks for watching!
Absolutely love the Yum pumpkin ed shaky heads. Caught an 8lber on 1 last January
Nice! I'd love to find an 8lber someday!
Thanks for another great video! You answered a lot of my questions about this rig.I have not fished the shaky head much, but I plan to work on it this year.
Awesome, glad the vid helped! Good luck, hope you find some biggins with it!
Good tips, thanks. I find myself fishing too fast trying to cover too much water when using these soft plastics. I'll try to slow it down and let the bait do the work like you mentioned. Then maybe...maybe i'll be able to land one this year.
You'll get on some! Stay after them my man!
Great info just got some Shakey head, wacky rigs and Ned rigs to try out. Thanks for the info.
Outstanding video. Glad to find your channel after catching TJ81 on Easter SNL !👊🏻👍💪🏻
I haven't us a shaky head but now after watching ur video im going to try it.
Heck yeah, give them a try man! Thanks for watching 👊
I fish the shaky head when I need something finesse and it’s maybe I’m somewhere new. You can power fish it but then you can slow it down. I really like the zoom finesse work it’s just a straight worm 5in.
Yessir! Power fish it like a jig or really slow it down too!
Dude I'm obsessed with purple lures too I love those beaver baits and those air tail rattle worms!
Great vid, haven't used the Shakey head but after this I will try this year. Love the videos.
Great, definitely give it a shot! Thanks for watching 👊
Can't wait for spring!!!!!
Agreed! That stuff needs to get here soon!
Love the shaky head just got some of those air tail worm can't wait to try them
Awesome! Those Airtail worms are awesome!
@@DEBOSFishing good waiting to try them come on spring lol
Texas rig on plastic craws works well for me at my local lake. I'm gonna take your advice on your string choice.
XD "Spring just around the corner, hopefully....." Same!!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Yeah...couple months out 😭🤣
Good stuff Debo! Can’t wait to get out there.
Thanks man! Me too, I'm having feeshin withdrawals!
Good video. I'm a big fan of the owner shakey heads paired with a Yum Genie worm. The tail is buoyant so it stands straight up
I have not tried those worms before. I'll have to check some out!
Thanks for the detailed breakdown. Very well done.
I scored some of those pocket rocket and air tail wigglers brand new for a bucks a piece at a garage sale so I’m pretty stoked to toss em once springs here... which is very near here in Texas 😅
They are awesome! I can't wait to see spring!
Contrasting the various finesse worm styles was awesome. Thank you Debo!
Good video! I have been meaning to try fishing the shaky head. Bought some but haven’t tried them yet.
Give em a shot, definitely will catch you some fish!
Awesome, I hope it all helps! Thanks for watching 👊
Great video as always man! As far as the shakey head goes. I played around with them a little in the fall, but I plan on working with them alot more in 2020.
Thanks man! Toss them, you'll definitely get some bites! Good luck 👊
Was a little impatient and missed a couple.
ordered the misslebait neds. great reviews .plan on clobbering the bass on shakey and neds this spring along with wacky and neko rigs.
Great video Debo! I haven't had any luck with the Shakey head yet, but I just started fishing in late September. I'll definitely be giving your tips a try.
Keep tossing it, you'll catch something on it! Good luck this year man!
Good stuff brotha love the shaky head especially for winter bass. I do like the Zoom trick worm the best for the shaky but as well throw everything on one n catch fish!!!👍👍
Yeah, great to slow down with in cold water! I like to experiment with plastics!
Love your Hawkeye hat! I grew up in Iowa City. .....Go Hawks!
Thanks for the info, just getting started bass fishing and this was a great video...thanks
Great vidja Debo
Thank you brother 👊👊👊
