- After months of not seeing the instrument, a new and greatly improved version was brought to my door.
I share with you my first touches of this fine musical instrument. Excuse the fact that I am literally remembering where the notes are on the playing surface! Thanks to the boys at Marcodi for working hard to make this a great instrument of our time.

This is just PERFECT for dream theater!! It's like the ultimate instrument!! A mix of keyboards, guitar and bass all in one!
Awesome, that's what I love with Jordan the fact that is able to play so many instruments and the fact that he likes to discover and create new instruments !

It has a 1/4 inch output just like a guitar. For effects we are using the fractal audio axefx unit.

Jordan, you are too fucking awesome! The way he can just start playing a new instrument that he really doesn't know 100% how to play and does stuff like this is just amazing. That is pure talent and he should be as known as Beethoven, Bach, and etc. Can't wait to see more vids Jordan!

6:22 sounds awesome! Cool combo of notes! My dad is teaching me how to play piano so..it's going to take me a while before I can just pick up any instrument like that and have fun with it the way you do! :(

Nope just a normal guitar like output. 1/4 inch...
starting at 2:20 when he slides up to those notes, sounds so blissfull

Another thing is that it seems like you can get a more fluid sound if you're going to be doing some sliding into or out of notes. I know you can do that on a keyboard, but it seems as though it would be smoother on this. Then again, I don't play keyboard or piano so maybe I'm wrong. LOL
I sense a future stint with LTE with this, the Chapman Stick, and the EBMM JP...

On the strings, each fret is a semitone.
And from string to string, it is a whole tone.

is this working via midi or has it an own sound device?
Just like a guitar. It's most like a Chapman stick, another instrument built for tapping. There is a software version for iPads that probably could have a MIDI output.

I haven't heard much of this thing. Shame really, but they are big bucks so only the pros and dentists need apply.

how is that tuned?
The strings are a whole tone apart and frets a half tone apart. The fingerings are the same in every key, nice, huh?
so it is an electric instrument, yes?
It's an amplified acoustic instrument. I guess electric, but not electronic. He's trying effects, but its basic sound is like tapping on a guitar.

Petrucci plays the guitar... he wouldn't know how to play a keyed instrument. What I want to see is JP on guitar and Rudess on this...
the model he is playing cost over $6K (USA dollars). out of reach of the average musician.
